As many other people said, amazing intro cutscene and character design/modeling of Ronald! You did a great job on the artstyle and overall aesthetics of the game. Also loved the dialogue between Ronald and the narrator. It was just pretty hard to read what they were saying during the gameplay and I feel like there, having gotten a voice actor on the team to voice the lines would have been peak.

awesome intro!
the "rings" section was a little too hard, i think. and i didn't understand or intuit what was happening during the finale ("aim for the villains").
the art is really nice !!!!!!! visually, it's all super pleasing.

here's a recording of my playthrough:
AMAZING work on the intro, just wish there was more gameplay afterward, curious where you'll take this post-jam!
I know its a game jam so I'm reluctant to say it but, I think the game is broken? I played through the game twice, once with a 'normal start' and again on 'quick start'. I did the "flying through the rings" but then I got to the 'fly through the villains' part just for all the 'villains' to move to the side and fall over.
And then I got booted back to the main menu.
Did... did I win? Or lose? Or crash the game? Like its a game jam, I don't want to knock it points because "winning/losing" sends you back to the main menu.
The best part is definitely the opening cut scene. A lot of simple love went into it and set up the gameplay well. The gameplay however, Im one part not sure what the objective was, I assume hit the rings for speed, and then the bowling scene comes up and everyone shuffles to the side. I knocked down the same amount of enemies every single replay without actually touching anything. Not sure if this is a glitch or a misunderstanding on my part. Anyways, love the narrative for sure!
Holy crap this guy spent his entire time making a sick transformation cutscene like what the heck he put all his chips in that and made a short little arcade game to go along with it and while I was typing this comment, this comment was so long that it started going off the entire screen but if I had to say, I really enjoyed playing I wanted to become a superhero so, for some reason I was given the power to not get blocked by the villains and yes this is the name of this game, and it's not for clickbait or something ah well then. Sorry if I butchered the title I said it like 5 times honestly and even someone in chat asked me to repeat what it was because they didn't quite catch it yet. So I said the name of the game another time after that. But other than that, It was a rip snortin time. I enjoyed the game I felt super, I felt - I felt like I could block the villains with my fists, and I was flying around like superman in superman 64 and I went through some rings and there was stuff that was slowing me down and inhibiting me. That didn't necessarily stop me, per say- I feel like I did pretty good job and got some turbo speed. I think I knocked over 20 villains. So if I were to put it on a scale from 1 to super duper oopy doopy super power. I'd say it's pretty up there. Overall, cute game, nice art style, and music, and the little spinny scene when he unites with the gift of the power fist was quaint, and energetic, and exciting, and it was a fun time. And I think if I had anything more to say, I would just say thank you - Thank you for taking the extra time to put together such a wonderful cutscene that will be remembered for generations. People in schools will talk about this - this is a staple example for animation in a game jam when all of your chips go into just say "like hey listen, I want to showcase my animation skills for my demo reel, PLEASE HIRE ME" and that right there, that cutscene, did the trick. If I worked for Evening Star, I'd say "give em a shot". Well done. Ya spooked me. Ya Intrigued me. You titillated my senses. gg
The magical girl transformation cutscene paired with the ridiculous title (which kinda gave the vibes of the most insane isekai anime titles) instantly made the game a 10/10. The little gameplay that was put in there was also really fun, but honestly, we can't even be mad that most of the development time was obviously spent on the intro, because it was absolute cinema.
Goated game, would become SPEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEED again.
This is very fine looking and sounding! The character is adorable and the gameplay is simple but punchy. I loved this from beginning to the end screen, very good entry. On style points definitely a top favourite of the jam. :3 Well done!
That intro was definitely epic and the character definitely cute! :D Very nicely done! :D
The character is so incredibly cute! Great animation and VFX work, too!
Wish there was more to the core gameplay, but putting that work into the cute intro was definitely the right priority, haha!
Also... I love how the long title breaks itch's UI! ^^
