  • Cool intro, cool graphics and presentation. Well wrapped up and it was cool there was a tutorial. That beign said I felt the controls were kind of off, the inertia and the little stop animation felt a bit too much and mostly klunky, aiming was hard and felt frustrating to miss something just in front of you, specially since it's a timed game. I wish I could've reached higher than the second phase. Cool entry !

Cool interpretation of the theme and fun game! Character art is amazing & animations are done well. Music is fun and matches the gameplay. Overall very polished and great that you implemented a leaderboard as well!

Very cool and addictive gameplay! The little slide when you stop running is a bit annoying, but despite that I managed to grind myself to place #7 after several tries. Well done on the presentation as well!

Developer

Thank you for the kind words :)! yeah, I will do something about the slide

the time it takes to get to a stop and start slashing annoyed me at first, but meeting the game at its terms did make me wanna improve my score again and again. Funky soundtrack, rad character. If you continue developing, I'd love to see Keith's dream go more and more bonkers, adding more visual flair to his growth. I wanna go full Keith Kaiju!

Thank you for the kind words! I will keep adding stuff and developing the game further to make it more enjoyable :D

Had a lot of fun. The online leaderboard is a neat idea. The art is nice, although the hitboxes feel a bit too small.

Developer

Thank you! I do need to work on the hit boxes, thank you for the feedback :D

Honestly close to perfect; the presentation is super clean, and the gameplay loop was addicting enough for me to try several times to beat my high score (I'm currently in the top five on the leaderboard). There are some issues relating to the game feel (the feedback for when something is vs. isn't being broken could be clearer, and you can't attack while sliding), but these are ultimately minor. Excellent job overall!

Nice! grats on the Top 5! Thank you so much for the feed back, ill keep them in mind in the update <3

That was super cool!
The addition of a online leader board made it repayable for those of us who are score chasers!

I also loved the character art!
A few things that would help is an indication of what you can hit at which size and which object you are hitting.
After playing a few times you start to know which is which and how close to stand.

Awesome work!

I do have a question,
if you don't mind , what was the process of making the online leader board? This is something i would love to implement into my project.

Developer(+3)

Thank you for the detailed feedback and kind words !<3 The leaderboard was done using this tutorial :)

A lot of fun! Sadly hitting smaller stuff became very hard once I became huge myself!

Developer

Thanks! Yeah, i will try to add an attack like a stomp that focus on hitting the small things in the floor :)

Really fun once you get the hang of it.

It’s hard to tell at any point if the character’s attacks will hit an object in front of him. A shadow right under the character or something like that would be really useful.

Moving and attacking cancel each other’s animations. Which creates a bit of an unpleasant feeling in my opinion. The optimal way to play is just hold down space the entire time and move around like that.

Scaling the screen, going fullscreen etc. has some unintended effects on the UI. Some elements don’t scale while others do. This can cause some text to be illegible and put things like the Name input field to go off screen.

If the stage layout was randomized each time, and the controls felt a little better, this could be a really addicting game in my opinion.

Developer

Thank you for your great feed back! I will definitely take them into account on the next update <3

I forgot to mention. In Godot, try going to Project Settings>General>Display>Window>Stretch>Mode and then setting the stretch mode to canvas_items or viewport. See if that alone is enough to fix the screen scaling related issues. 👍

Developer

Ooooh thank you very much for the tip. This is actually my second game in godot so this info is really helpful :D

Love the concept! Really fun, creative interpretation of the theme.

Simple, but challenging! I think it requires careful optimization so you can attack two targets at the same time in order to optimize your run. The best I've gotten is Elephant-sized so far.

Really nice art and animation as always! Love the colors and running/skidding animation. It would be cool if there were some extra effects that made the world feel even more dream-like!

Developer

Thank you so much Ecaroh! :D I appreciate your kind words and your feed back, I will work to make it more dream like definitel
