Ranked from 25 ratings. Score is adjusted from raw score by the median number of ratings per game in the jam.

Theme incorporation
I've included the Ancient ruins theme by making the environment resemble an ancient ruins, as well as the Cosmic Horror theme by adding narrative notes alluding to something bigger, far beyond yourself which (Spoiler) you discover once you manage to exit the ruins. I've also touched on the solitude theme by alluding to your own loneliness while traveling the ruins in the notes that explain your situation.

"So this is the outside ..."

The game is fun. It controls well, the traps are fun to deal with, I like the visual lighting clues and the overall difficulty is appropriate. The ending is cool.

My favourite part is the overall structure with a natural path which will lead you to find the notes in order but the dungeon is still very open and you can bypass most of it and directly walk through the end when you know it, that's the exact way this should be done to me so I loved it.

The one thing I did not like is that pressing SPACE did not allow to advance through the dialogs.

This is a cool entry, thanks for sharing.

short but sweet. reasonable graphics. Maybe use a font more suited to the style though.

Also think about the keyboard - if you are using that then why drop back to using the mouse - very clumsy and gets in the way of playing it.

Ah shoot! I was having fun. Then it ends! I have to say, maybe a longer shaped map. Would add a bit of mileage. I managed to accidentally beat it in what felt like one minute by the path I selected at random. Loved the aesthetic.

Great graphics, lighting, torch effects. Gameplay is a bit basic, but I appreciate that you have to wait for the arrow/spike timing to sync rather than just tanking through.

I managed to win, but I usually took at least two hits of damage whenever I took any, so I would recommend adding a brief invulnerability and/or briefly locking input after getting knocked back by a trap.

Really solid traps mechanics! I loved dodging and exploration of these ruins. All these traps made it more dangerous, like it should be. I’ve completed it a bit faster than anticipated, really wanted to go through a more elaborate traps on my way out.

Great short game, good job!

The game looks good, the lighting is well done, the traps are timed just enough to be a bit of a challenge. If you stepped on a spike you could keep hitting it because you bounce back, that added extra challenge and made you have to pay a little more attention then just zooming around.

It's short, I don't think there was a way to recover health and the story was good but it was heavy on the purple prose.

Very short and simple game buy i ike it. The traps are well done. I like the voxel graphics, textures and color palette of the game. It looks nice visually.

I'll give it a 3 because there are no enemies, it's too short and there aren't any mechanics other than walking. But it's a good one despite the shortcomings. Good job!

PS: Love the ending too, it was funny :))

Cool graphics!
The teleport when you get hit it's a bit annoying, but it gives some challenge to the game.
Good job!

The modeling of the walls was real slick, is this all voxels? The torches look like that...

Good setting and atmosphere! I like the idea of "platforming in a dungeon-crawler" even tho it was a bit clunky sometime, the challenge there! Also the protagonist was real fun haha, I know this was supposed to be scary and stuff but the protagonist's attitude just made me smile a lot :')

More of an exploration/timing game than a combat focused one, this was well done. First and second run I tried to find as many notes as possible, died right before the exit. Third run I just beelined towards the exit and made it out. Well done for a jam game, could be expanded with more creative puzzle solving and trap management in the future. There's probably no need to add combat since that's not the point the game is trying to make.

Overall its a nice game.  The torches are placed well and the area is fun to explore.  The writing is over the top for my taste but some people like that.  The SFX are too loud and need to brought down - also with Unity you could use 3D sound to give the sound more dynamism especially for the arrows passing by.  It would be nice if the messages could be advanced using the keyboard so you don't have to touch the mouse.  The FOV & Perspective were off for standard dungeon crawlers when you  are up against a well you should see a little bit of the surrounding tiles and ceiling and floor.  The input was good though!

Interesting game with nice traps to avoid. I did even get some jump scares from being hit through a wall. Nice scope, but not much of combat.  Would be nice if the game could be played solely using keyboard. The menu clicks took that away. Overall good job!

I like the textures and lighting. The sound design was very atmospheric and was nice as an indicator of where the traps are. However, I feel like the FOV was very small and lead to me getting disoriented at one point when I kept getting killed by arrows and then not knowing where I was respawning. Also would have been nice to see a more stylised UI but it's not that big of a deal.

Overall nice game! The mechanic with the torch is very cool but we would have liked to see it getting further than just putting them on blocks to open doors. Also the blur effect is maybe a tad too much and can become a bit nauseating.

The game is short which is a nice thing, it's a nice little experience!

Congrat on making a cool little game!

Developer

Thanks a lot for the feedback! Perhaps due to how many times I played I didn't get too nauseated while playing, but I will take this into account in the future. Awesome feedback <3

Was a fun little maze to get through, my dumb ass died right before the entrance so had to do another run to blitz back through it.

Nice job! great presentation and atmosphere!

Interesting mechanic with the torches and the graphics were nice. But you did something with the movement, which made me a bit queasy.

It presents very well on screenshots. I was hoping for some intense combat with this torch in hand xd
Good work!
