The gameplay is cool.
I struggled a bit with inputs since I'm used to A/D strafe instead of Q/E but with some practice I got into it.
I really like the ability upgrade.
I got stuck in the respawn point, where I was surrounded by 3 bats and i was permanently dying and respawning in the same spot.
The music doesn't quite fit the atmosphere but it's cool.
Nice game, good job!

Thanks for the feedback.
Unfortunately speed it's the main complaint about the game, which is nice in some kind since it means that the rest of the game is kinda decent.
You should consider upgrading defensive stats too XD
I'm glad you liked it!

Thanks for the detailed feedback.
I thought about a UI mask for the portrait but since I rarely used them I didn't have time to implement it, I preferred to focus on major things.

Unfortunately, you cannot enter the bedroom XD It's just an easter egg.

Boots technically increase movement speed but I realized too late that maybe the base speed it's too much slow.

I'm currently fixing everything that pops out from feedback so I'll upload a fixed version after the end of ratings, don't know actually if I will continue this game but surely I'll fix it.

I'm glad you enjoyed it and thanks for playing it!

Thanks for the feedback!
It's basically my first dungeon crawler so obviously I made some rookie mistakes, like movement speed too slow and camera perspective a bit off, hoping this would not affect too much the gameplay experience.
For the stamina, I just wanted to incentivize a "strategical" approach where you have to balance your stamina in combat since you can't regain it outside except by buying with coins. Unfortunately, I didn't have enough time to implement some descriptions to give a better understanding of abilities and stats to the players so they could manage them better.
Glad you liked it tho!

Thanks for the feedback!
I "balanced" the game thinking of it as a finished game, so based it only on this level. Of course, with more levels costs need to be adjusted based on how much you upgrade.
For the common complaints, I guess I learned a lesson for the next time XD.

Ahahah the voice acting is so fun!
I really like how you managed the graphics all handpainted.
It really fits all well together.
The sound and the music are really cool.
It's a bit difficult to understand the keys and the doors. Maybe giving the keys a different color matching the door or just deleting the key once used could help a bit more understanding.
I liked the fact you ahve to manage your slots between equip and inventory.
Good job!

I managed to find the key for the dagger but I couldn't go further.
The snap movement gave me a bit of a headache, it was a bit frustrating in the maze to find the key, I couldn't really understand where I was going.
The charge attack is not very immediate to understand.
I guess the restart button on Game Over doesn't work properly.
I liked the enemies and the glowing potions.
Good Job!

Cool graphics and atmosphere.
The sound was really cool i liked a lot the gun shots.
The aiming mechanic was cool but a bit hard to find out without reading the itch page.
I would have liked a little text when the boss was defeated, but I guess it's ok anyway.
The boss's design was cool.
Good Job!

Cool graphics!
The teleport when you get hit it's a bit annoying, but it gives some challenge to the game.
Good job!

I did find the ammo for the rifle but I kept it for the next area, but as you described I couldn't use it.
I agree with the decision to keep the combat and other stuff junky besides don't have them. In the end it's not a big deal, just something you can upgrade later.
Thanks for the exhaustive reply!

Thanks for the feedback.
Yeah, dialogues are hard-coded to wait some time before letting the player able to walk again, definitely, something that can be tweaked a bit more.
The speed is the number 1 complaint of the game XD.
I'm already fixing those things, once the ratings are over I'll update it with a better experience and fluidity.

Glad you liked it!

Thanks!
Yeah, I'm already fixing things up.
The UI thing is something I didn't think about, thanks for the tip.
Names are definitely the best thing in the game!
Glad you liked it and thanks for the feedback!

Punching is so satisfying, i just spent 1 minute punchin the air.
Nice art too, really cool!

I got stuck in the infinite corridor, i guess that's the point?
Otherwise nice game, good job!

Yeah puzzles.
Came here for a raccomendation and got what i came for.
Unfortunately i'm too dumb for barry's minigame :(
Good job!

Nice ambient and atmosphere.
Unfortunately i couldn'y beat it due to the sanity going too fast.
the lockpicking and Cthulu minigame were fun tho.
I would love to play it with a bit of adjustment.
Good Job!

Really cute.
Nice mechanic for the combat and the "collecting monster".
The voice ove ris cool but i had to mure it since audio started to play all togheter and i was freaking out XD.

Good Job!

Thank god some puzzles in a game!
Good job on that.

Really cool style and atmosphere.
The combat is the main issue I guess, it's kinda hard and inputs are a bit tricky.
I took "Alden" as a character but the first encounter just killed me with 3 attacks.
The map is a bit too big without really any reasons, with just collecting keys as the goal.
Getting a more reasonable combat and implementing more encounters on the level could be a good improvement.
Overall a nice game, good job!

Nice entry.
It's a bit short but pretty good.
One trap got me, and I'm dead so badly XD.
Really cool atmosphere and coherent art style.
Good Job!

Cool art style and atmosphere.
The reload system is kinda frustrating, but it gets the job done in the boss fight where it suits really well.
I got a couple of jumpscares honestly XD
Good Job on this one!

Thanks for the feedback!
Unfortunately, I didn't have enough time to introduce the description for each stat and skill.
The "cloak" is the "magic resistance" of the player to reduce magi damage from mages.
Fountains sometimes get buggy, one reason could be if you input the movement while in the dialogue it saves it and performs it after the dialogue destroying the interaction collision.
There are also a couple of secret rooms with gold inside, a little reward to help with upgrades and incentivize exploration.
Thanks for the Gameplay video and hope you liked it besides the problems!

That's fantastic.
The art style, the polish, the crew chatting with each other!
The combat system is very cool, the enemy turn is a bit difficult to read tho, maybe it's too fast.
This doesn't even seem made in 1 week, really a Good Job!
One of the greatest I played so far.

This game is so Cool!
The art style is so pretty.
I mean it's a card game it's wonderful!
The combat system is cool and there are very cool card effects. I like the combo of the wand attack and the arrow that deals damage based on distance.
The sounds were so loud that I got scared when I opened the first chest XD.
Maybe you could add the possibility to reshuffle the discard pile into the deck once is over, and remove the draw so you have to manage the hand time by time.
Because finishing cards in a card game doesn't feel so right.
I really liked it, Good Job!

Cool art style.
The boss fight is very cool, the monster's combat is a bit redundant tho. The fireball is a bit too huge for the screen, it is too much bulky. Overall a nice game, good job!

The atmosphere and music are good.
I didn't quite understand what to do and where to go.
I walked a bit around a kicked some Cthulhu's asses.
The movement gave me a bit of a headache with the head bobbing but you get used to that after some time.
The combat is a bit buggy, you can step back at every attack, and enemies are stuck in animations, also the spear sometimes gets stuck in the attack animation.
I appreciated the settings in the menu, something I would have implemented myself.

Neat game!
The style and the atmosphere are so good!
I lost my rifle after leaving the first zone, don't know if it's intended but I didn't have the chance to try it out :(
The music and sound are very good and help with the immersion.
The combat is a bit tricky sometimes, and those monsters scared the hell out of me!
The splash image of the game gives me Bioshock's vibes.
I like the credits too, very cool!
Nice game, good job!

Thanks.
The grid is theoretically aligned it's just some sectors that are like 1.3 cells and there is some space off the grid, with more time I would have loved to polish more the map.

Thanks! Glad you like the game!

Thank you!
Yeah this damn movement, I've clearly underestimated it XD.
Glad you liked it!

Thanks!
The feedback about the grid is very useful, I guess I could implement more diversity on the tiles and align them more precisely. I just placed it all by hand so it's understandable.
Glad you liked it tho, hopefully, I'll do some more levels at the end of the ratings.

Thanks for the feedback.
Yeah, the balance of combat was tough. I put optional combat in case the player would have some farm to upgrade and face the final boss or rush it and hope for the best.
Very glad you liked it!

Thank you!
Yeah, I thought that a continuous movement could go against the classic dungeon-crawler movement and got scared about that.
That's surely something I'll add in the future.

Thanks a lot!
Yeah, there is for sure some adjustment to do (especially on the movement speed).
Glad you liked it!

Thanks for the feedback!
The movement speed increases with the speed of the player, I know it's a bit clunky but I couldn't do better in time.
Same for the stats, I wanted to implement something to understand better.
I'm glad you enjoyed it anyway :D

Yeah, sorry. We already found a programmer.

Cool, are you on discord?

Unfortunately, none of us is experienced with Unreal, so we could not be of help inside the engine

Hello there!
I'm in a team composed by 2 game designer with some c# knowledge and 3d modeling and a composer.
We're looking for a Unity programmer and an artist.

Hey!
I'm glad you liked it.
You can press the ESC button to enter the pause menu and hit the "Retry" button to restart the level at any moment.
