I don't know if it was just me but I was having immense trouble navigating just because I found it very difficult to see anything.  The lighting and reflections were very spectacular at first but I found little meaning in them when I was battling with the visuals trying to figure out what to do next.  The rooms were so dark that I was trying too hard to make sure I didn't miss anything because I wasn't sure what to do next. I actually had to restart several times because I got lost in the darkness.

It was a very cryptic game, but somehow I managed to beat it and make to the end. I didn't understand how some of the puzzles worked so I was brute forcing my way through everything. The light panel and spike trap puzzle was extremely frustrating and was pure trial and error for me, not fun at all. I do feel kind of smart for figuring out what to do with the sword in one of the rooms but it was a short lived feeling.

The lighting, graphics, and sound are spectacular at times, but I found it very difficult to enjoy them because the game just wasn't fun. I'm sorry, I really, really, really want to like this game because it just looks so beautiful compared to all the other games in the jam, but I just can't hide my frustrations.  :(

hey, don't apologize for your honest experience. Your frustration is on our part, it's a mix of puzzles that required further testing, our experimental visual style, the rulesets of the jam we had to adhere to and the time constrains. We tried to mix a dungeon crawler, a puzzle and a horror game which each have aspects oftentimes at odds which each other. Did you play the jam version or the updated version? The bright level is one of our favorites but when watching people play we also noticed it was the most confusing and tried to add more clarity. Hopefully you could still take away something from playing our game!

I played the jam version about an hour before the voting was going to be over.  I think I'll play the updated version later. I have to upload my game too because people have been complaining about lag and crashing. I didn't mention this earlier but your game ran very smoothly.

The graphics and audio are both very impressive! Unfortunately they're often not easy to interpret, and it was sometimes very difficult to tell where I was and what I was looking at. Still, I do really like this kind of game and I would be interested to see what it might become outside the constraints of a game like this one!

So freaking cool! I found it fairly difficult to navigate but I was constantly surrounded by really great and interesting visuals/audio. Love the way you made the tutorial too!

thank you! This is nice to hear because we really enjoyed your game too and it was one of our favorite entries! :D

Wow, Dungeon Master/Legend of Grimrock engine on steroids is not what I expected before booting the game. I've not completed the game yet but this is a pretty strong entry.

did not see a combat mechanic, but this is a good ambient puzzler.

thank you! I'll watch your stream later. There is a combat mechanic; you can find a lasersword and a laserpistol. We wanted to give the game a horror feeling so we didn't want weapons to be too common. The enemies stay in the dark and you can only see them from specific angles but you are able to fight them, especially with the laserpistol which illuminates your surroundings. We'll release an update soon which fixes some current issues players had.

you can find a light gun and a light sword in some specific levels, which can kill the monsters that haunt you and help navigate in darker levels, but the main focus is definetly puzzles and the ambience :)

I liked the ambient music and graphics style, but the contrast gets tiring very quickly.

thanks, the soundtrack is available on my youtube channel :3

I really enjoyed the graphics and art design.  Great ambient music too!
