Very cool game! The art is adorable and moving around fulfilling order feels great. The plot is engaging and easy to follow. I had a lot of fun playing this!! Great job!

Developer

That's awesome to hear, thank you so much!

Fun little game, I like it! The art is great, as well as the sound effects, they together pretty smoothly! The story is fun, had to thonk hard to get to the bottom of this. Cute and fun overall, good job!

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much, I'm glad you liked it! :-)

This was great!!! Not overly complicated and cute! I was dashing to fulfil the orders when I saw they got angry but I'm not sure that has an effect on gameplay. I thought the music was great and the story was really good too! If I were to make some suggestions I would maybe change the text at the top of the screen to maybe text bubbles near the characters in the scene so that my eyes stay on the characters rather than having to constantly look up at the top of the screen and then back down to the characters themselves. Other than that, fun cozy game!

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much, I'm glad you liked it! And I appreciate the feedback. I actually tried that at one point in development, but it's such a low resolution game that the pixel art font couldn't fit in the text bubbles lol

Thanks again for playing! :-)

Very cute game! Such a simple concept, executed beautifully. Well done!

This is a great game! Like all the other comments I agree that it's polished, this feels very professional! Great job! The characters, art style, story were great! Definitely one of the top submissions in this jam and personal favorites. The text at the top of the screen might benefit from an indicator saying that the player should be advancing dialogue.

Excellent job there isn't much more I can say

Developer(+1)

Wow, thank you so much! I wasn't expecting this much positive feedback, this community is incredibly nice!

The art and polish look professional. The story was really interesting, and the characters were charming. You did a great job!

Developer(+1)

Oh wow, that's high praise, thank you so much! :-)

This is a really cozy game! I love the artstyle, it reminds me of the gameboy color, and combining cooking mechanics (in this case coffee preparing) with being a detective is a really clever idea. Great job!

Developer

Thank you so much! Your game is one of my favorites in the jam, so that means a lot coming from you!

Submitted(+1)

really well polished and cute game! the mystery was probably a bit too easy to solve but managing time between coffee and customers dialogues was pretty fun!

Developer

Thank you so much, it's awesome to hear that people are enjoying the game! I've never done a game jam before, and I was afraid that no one would play it lol

I like it! Cute art, the sounds were pretty satisfying to hear and the music made it more relaxing. Great job!

Developer

Thank you so much! I'm glad you liked the music, it's probably the part of the process that I struggle with the most. Thanks for playing, and good luck with the jam! :-)

Different admin of SNORKMI here! I'm just a sucker for these kind of pixel-y aesthetics and talking-to-villagers. I got to the culprit-picking on my first try (got it wrong tho), somehow didn't even get there on my second, and finally answered all correctly on my third after reaaaally paying attention to what they've said XD

I hope there's a bit more time to process the conversations, as we had to split our focus to make coffee as well. And I hope there is a little scene when you answered the last questions wrong/picked the wrong culprit, and when you got it right. Maybe it wasn't really "cozy" but I personally enjoy the challenge! It left a more satisfying feeling when I finally got it right XD

Good job! -Hon

Thank you so much! Yeah, the mystery detective theme was a tricky one to work with, and it's cool hearing about people's experiences. I've had some players tell me that it was too easy to figure out who the culprit was and that they were standing around waiting for customers because the game moved too slowly, and I've had other players tell me the exact opposite on both fronts, so I'm super torn! This might be the kind of situation where two different difficulty settings are needed for different players, which is something I could implement by the off chance I make a similar game in the future or decide to expand this one. Anyway, thank you so much for all the valuable feedback! Best of luck with the jam! :-)

Oh man, I am not good with mystery, and I admit I had to play this twice to get it! But it's very good! I think it's very polished for a first game, the characters are cute, the mechanic is fun, and the mystery solving is interesting!

I do wish there is a way to tell time or some sort? I did not know that the characters would leave before I could finish talking to them, so I missed a crucial information from the witch the first time I played.... But that's probably my own fault for running around checking everyone's idle chatter hahah! Good game! Well done!

Thanks for playing and leaving such thoughtful feedback! And that's funny, a friend of mine had the same suggestion after playing it yesterday. This has been a cool learning experience. Thanks again, and best of luck with the jam! :-)

Nice job, very cute.  Wish you didn't have to restart the whole game after picking wrong choice at end?  Congrats on finishing the jam. ☕☕☕

Cute and charming! Wish I can see customer's dialogues again before the deduction though.

Cute and fun. :) I enjoyed making coffee and serving it. I do wish at the end it made it clearer if you solved the mystery or not. I locked up the wrong person on my first playthrough!

Developer

Thank you so much! And I appreciate the feedback, that's something I might change after ranking is done. Best of luck with the jam! :-)

Such a cute concept, I totally loved it! Unfortunately, I accidentally input too fast on the first debriefing question so I wasn't able to close the case. A minor complaint would be that between customers showing up, there isn't really much to do: for some reason I kept thinking I was going to have to wash cups in the sink, haha. But overall this is one of my favorites from the jam so far.

Aww, thank you so much! I really appreciate your feedback. I was a little bit nervous that players wouldn't have time to read everything carefully if I set the customer speed too high, and I might have overcorrected a bit lol. Again, thank you so much, I'm glad you enjoyed the game! :-)

Nice job on this!  I played to the finish and I liked your art/characters and the gameboy vibes, and it was cool how you combined the cafe-style game with a whodunnit.  I also liked your exposition of how the coffee-prep mechanisms worked -- it felt intuitive and smooth.  The palette and coffeeshop feel was fitting for this jam, too.  There was just a little blur of the pixels in some of what I assume are the UI elements (the headache of all pixel game devs), perhaps the engine UI was the cause? Again, nice work!

Developer(+1)

Wow, this is so sweet, thank you for all the great feedback! And yeah, I noticed that the HTML version has some odd pixel stretching (especially with the font like you mentioned), but I couldn't figure out why. It looks much cleaner in the Windows version, so I decided not to stress about it. It's so wonderful to hear that someone enjoyed my game! This is my first game jam, so that's a big deal for me. Thanks for making my day! :-)

Nice game and retro style. Maybe more options for beverage would have been needed, but solving the robbery and also remembering orders was maybe enough ^^

Developer

Thank you so much! :-)
