I liked the game, monkeys are very charismatic. Two things that bothered me a little: 1. The player's bullet size could be a little bigger to help hit enemies. 2. Enemies that aren't on the screen shouldn't shoot, this seems a little unfair to players. Overall I thought it was pretty fun, congratulations.

Really good game love the cutscenes one question on the third room my screen became orange tinted is there a reason for that
Very nice work on the cutscene! The story is nice and makes us want to kick some hunter's ass
The combat is cool, but the dash is way too long, and the camera is weird.
Your bullets are too small, it's hard to hit the enemies. But the boss battle is fun!
Little sound nitpick : the shooting sound is lacking, it doesn't feel good to shoot, try to add more stuff in it (more realistic shoot, bass impact, etc)
Finished it in 18min on normal mode! not sure if I have the skill to try the hard mode lol.
great game ! Well polished ! I really like the narrative part !
Well play !!
Loved the story and the concept of the game!! I really wanted to avenge the poor monkey. Overall it was a really fun game to play
I LOVE this concept and the execution of it was great. The intro really caught me off guard and it honestly made me care about the monkey a lot more than I thought I would, completely wordlessly. On top of that, it's just a really fun game and the pixelated old-school graphics are great! You did an incredible job on this game.
One funny bug I found was that you can shoot through some walls hah, but it isn't too game-breaking as it generally isn't very helpful in most scenarios. Having the environment block projectiles was a great touch too, and it made combat encounters a lot more fluid and nice since I had things to hide behind if I was getting overwhelmed and needed a second to catch my barrings!
Fantastic game! Super polished and I really liked the addition of an outline whenever the player is behind things.
I really liked the pace of the game, visually nostalgic, very fun, very cool sounds!
Really liked this one!
Pros:
- The graphic novel-style intro was some really, really nice bit of wordless storytelling.
- Monke's movement is responsive and killing enemies is satisfying
- Evasive roll is VERY useful
- Keycard is a small, but nice bit of auxiliary game design (what's that called? stuff that runs parallel to or breaks up the main game loop?)
- Audio was handled pretty well, especially the music choices.
Cons:
- Monkey's movement might be TOO fast? It's a bit disorienting at times, how I can dash away so far that enemies completely leave the screen.
- The dash key being "E" was unfortunate, because it uses the same finger as D (or E, I guess?) Better choices would've been Shift, Space, or even Right-click.
- SFX weren't great at times. The humans' shots work, but the monkey's are super weird.
The enemies' little "hey!" when they see the monkey was derpy as hell, but it amused me so much every single time it happened that instead of a con, it ended up being the thing that pushed Fun up to 5 stars for me.
All in all, great job!
P.S.: If you want help with audio on a future jam, hit me up :D I'd love to work with ya.
Man, this game was incredible, I can't believe you pulled this off in just ten days. This reminded me a lot of Wolf of the Battlefield: Commando 3 which I played on the ps3 a long while back except you have a dodge mechanic going. I really liked the dodging by the way, it added another layer to the skill ceiling and made beating the game without taking any damage possible.
I want to be monke
So this is what happens if you give Ape Out a gun. Intense! I must say, the intro presentation is top-notch, and while the visuals of the main gameplay don't quiiite hold up to that standard, everything is still easy to parse and a rush to dodge past. If there is one thing I would have liked to see, it's that I think the camera should lean towards your mouse aim direction to make it easier to see where you're shooting. Especially while moving downwards you are very close to the edge of the screen, which hindered my enjoyment in some places. Overall though, colour me impressed! (that's pink. all the enemies in this game are impressed. colour me that)
so sad storyline, I almost cryed when tf2Heavy killed the monke, so sad. but the Game was so much fun, and a nice addition to the Monkey Gang
