Hey, a fellow game-within-a-game maker! 😄 This was a cool project. I really like how you incorporated the buttons on the Tamagotchi into the gameplay.

Subject treated very intelligently.

The rest is really good too.

If you haven't played it yet, go for it.

Very fun take on the theme! I loved how the tamagotchi became the main confinement for the character and how the enemies dont have the limitation making it a lot more entertaining and challenging!

Awesome interpretation of "confined"!! I think being able to see the enemies come, but not being able to move towards them or fire their bullets at them adds an exciting sort of stress, like you're trying to prepare for the bullets, but not able to do anything.

The 3D graphics, while not totally relevant to the actual gameplay, really sold the feeling of confinement because it helped explain the premise of being stuck inside a virtual space inside the real world.

As for the gameplay, I don't want to simply ask for more content like different upgrades or more bullets when giving feedback since the game was built in the scope of a game jam, but I wish that the upgrades stayed over the different loops, especially the bullet increasing one. I think having persistent upgrades while simply increasing the number of enemies or bullets, not even necessarily having to create new enemy types or bullet patterns, would have made the upgrade decisions much more worthwhile while having to add minimal new implementations (besides having to adjust the difficulty scaling to match permanent upgrades).

I think the diagetic UI with the buttons on the tamagotchi were a super nice touch. The game sells the theme really well and I really love the concept. sick work you all, congrats on the submission!

thanks, we had a ton of fun developing this game and hear such kind words is really nice!

WOW, tamagotchi - bullet hell - powerups. WHAT ELSE IS NEEDED.

Excecution was really nice and the graphics are cool.

I liked it too much! The Tamagotchi model looks great! If it were possible, applying a scanlines filter on the tamagotchi's display would make it even more perfect!

I don't know if it was intentional, but it's possible to get out of the tamagotchi by moving around the edges hahaha

I also liked the progression through powerups when beating each level. Very creative, I liked it!

Um abraço brasileiro! hahaha

Developer

Thank you very much for your comment and feedback, we are really very happy!

It wasn't intentional to leave the Tamagotchi, but it's good to know that someone made it! ahahaha

Who knows, maybe in the next update we will already apply scanlines filters xD

Um abraço brasileiro para você também! :D

Very nice interpretation of the theme! The game is well crafted to fit the tamagochi style, that’s very cute! Also, the slow bullets and enemies are a nice change of pace compared to most games of this jam imho.

Thanks, yeah we tried to do something different and the theme helped us out to put some good constraints on the idea so we could craft a game around it. was really fun to work on this project.

i'm very glad you liked our game!

Pretty fun game! But I was a bit forced to the top left corner, something like a strange inverted gravity, maybe it is because of mine azert keyboard...

Developer(+2)

sorry, on the next version we're gonna add support for the arrow keys, thanks for reporting this!

that would be cool ;)

Thanks!

Very cool concept! I like that you use the tamagotchi buttons to pickup items and to go back to the menu.  The game is simple but fun. The 3D model is absolutely gorgeous. Great job!
