How does you game fit the theme?
You're in the dark, and you're not alone. But your own remnants will be there for you to guide you to the goal.
Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
I wrote all the code. (I re-used some of my old code for basic functionality, but all the unique features were made from scratch).
I made all the assets from scratch except the font, which I had already created.

it's a very nice idea and game but after a while it feels like a chore but overall a really good game.
I love the idea and the way the map is so colorful at the end. It would be great if you can implement some kind of "final rewind" where you get to see all your little guys been turned into a color stain at the same time.
The gameplay feels really nice when you can get quickly to the unexplored areas but there are some levels where the position and speed of the enemies make it very tedious to repeat the known part. Maybe you can try the idea of doing some levels with only static - predicticable enemies.
Hey hey, nice game! It's really interesting how dying is not exactly rewarded, but it doesn't feel ripped off (that is except for the downright evil spikes around the exit). Even as you die a bunch, you're still making progress towards the exit which feels good. You did lose me towards the end though, it was getting a bit too tedious for my tastes and I stopped at lvl 3. The opening corridor on that level was just too much imo, I believe you're meant to lure the enemy out to the starting room, then duck in whilst probably sacrificing a guy or two, and doing that whole shebang after every death really killed my progress. Luring enemies seems like a neat idea, though I think it could've been saved for the end of the level to make for something with greater stakes + less repetition. Awesome little game, you've done well bringing value to death in an interesting way, now I challenge you to beat it no deaths!
This is great! Very creative and well made. I had a lot of fun playing it, keep it up!
This is such a creative idea. I absolutely loved how the levels looked splattered with the neon gore of my past attempts. This was extremely fun to play! And I agree with the other comments saying it should have more levels!
This game is really underrated and fun. Hope more people find this game. Only thing I would add is more levels. But considering this was made in 7 day well done!
very very nice
I love the concept as well as the graphic! Cool game!
Really cool game! I liked the paint feature, and thought it was a really unique way to make an invisible level gradually reveal itself. Really solid art style and graphics, and nice sound effects!
Nice work!
really cool and interesting game!
Nice game with cool mechanics
very cool concept... i really liked this twist on the theme! definitely challenging ... could see this in an app store as an arcade style game that everyone is addicted to :)
I really liked the whole concept of the game. Great art direction, and execution. For my taste it was a tad bit difficult, could have eased the player in with a few more easier levels.
Hey, loved the game and how pretty and consitent the pixel style and menus were! Also appreciate the attention paid to the sounds, since you can hear the enemie's directions in the dark. I also think the game mechanic is cool. The levels were just challenging enough and I had fun playing through all the way.
The paint effects on the dark walls are great and I think the idea is really original. It's very fun to discover the level little by little while making it more and more colourful. That's really cool, good job !
Really fun idea and I loved the paint splatter effects! Now I want to see how that is done ;)
Thank you so much for the feedback!
I wrote a brief description of how I did the paint effect here: https://itch.io/post/6585690
Very cool concept and the gameplay was very fun - was pretty hard I only got to the third level
The level design was top notch. I really like painting the board with my body. I like the saw sound it was helpful and horrifying. Thanks for the game it was great. Good job.
Loved the aesthetic with the paint and darkness. Really fun to discover new areas when you explode into a paint splatter. I think some spooky ambient sounds or music would have helped with the atmosphere. Just don't make it to loud cause the zooming of the enemies helped a lot with finding my way.
