How does you game fit the theme?
The game is based in a dream. Where you are on a fishing trip with your grandpa. At the end of the game you wake up and realize...

Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
All the code & assets were made by me and my friends. Except Dialogic was used to make it easier to add dialog.

I really like the concept, the mechanic is really cool,

But the control feels so janky, and non-intuitive, which makes it really challenging.

Maybe after restarting the levels, the grandpa could also restart hence we can see how to do it one more time.

But really nice art, and game,

Good job!

Loved it! After playing a lot of generic platformers, this game's fishy grapple mechanics were ironically pretty refreshing.

At first the janky grapple physics really ticked me off, but as I played through more and more of this game, it kind of just grew on me and I started to like how weirdly it defied all laws of physics LOL.

I would've liked if the spikes were more visible and had more generous hitboxes, and if there was a way to see how the grandpa did the levels again.

So hard...The graphics were nice and the idea of following your grandpa was cool. It was annoying when trying to run and jump the spikes.

Great stuff, Celeste vibes, keep it up <3

Great game! Love the pun! I wonderful grappling mechanics!
Feel like this one could be improved by being able to reel yourself closer to your hook? but that's about the only criticism i can think of so still

Amazing job!

Thats one amazing game. The reel was a bit hard to control but really fun to play with.

Funny take on the word real.

I really liked the wavy effect, although it made the text a bit hard to read at times. The art was very cool and im always up for a pun on a theme!

Nice retro game!

Very interesting game ! The hook physics was unusual, but having grandpa showing how to do everything made it easier to understand ^^ ! The level design is good, the story is great and the game is really polished, with its cutscenes, cute graphics and fitting audio.

In fact, my only issue was the spikes : you sometimes can't see them very well (on a grey background, especially) and their hitbox extend above their sprites, making a lot of death feel unfair, because I didn't visually touched the spike and still died.

But that's just a detail, everything else is on point, congratulations =) !

very fun game! it has such a nice hook! :>

my main criticism is that we don't use the grapple enough.

Developer(+1)

just because we made a pun doesn't give you the right for you to make a pun alright? I never want to hear that again, I'm currently crying right now. Kind Regards, stop.

thanks bro

This was fun, I think it could be worked into something cool. Interesting ideas that I liked were a person to follow so you know how to do certain sections (would be nice if he waited for you). There were plenty of different hazards too. Criticisms would be that rocks were hard to see, and physics feel wobbly and weird; needs more snap. Good project.

Went in really enjoying the art in the previews and was really taken by the soundtrack! You've done such a nice job on this whole game in just a week. Nice work!

Developer(+2)

thank you! the guy we forced to do the soundtrack would love the feedback :)

Loved the game world and how small the players were. It's always nice to see people design a game world with their character in mind and it seems like you did this very well.

In general the game is quite good and I liked the mechanic a lot. I look forward to see the hook mechanic totally polished (I know, I know, its one week, but now still it feels a little rigid), it will be a great game!

Great transitions, music, sound and controls - this is an incredible amount of work to get done in a week! I especially like how you learn the game by watching another character. Nice job!

Developer(+1)

Yeah I thought the music was pretty good imo

Developer(+1)

forg please stop replying to everyone talking about the sound
