Very interesting, I liked your take on stronger together. A redo button on the levels would have been really helpful so that when you get stuck you don't have to start from the very beginning.
The game has a restart button; 'R' on the keyboard or the northmost controller button ('Y' on XBox controller, 'triangle' on PlayStation) -- this is mentioned in one of the first five 'tutorial' stages.
Glad you liked it though. <3
The atmosphere was really strong! I also really liked the movements of the cube^^
I'm not very good at platformers so I couldn't finish the game but I really liked the concept. I'll probably make another attempt another time :3
Thank you! I'm really glad you liked it! <3
Love the graphics and audio! the movement is so smooth, great work :)
Thank you so very much! <3
What a good little game. Too much fun to play, the controls are super smooth and the audio is superb.
Good job.
Thank you, that means a lot to me! <3
Ahh this was a really interesting one. There's always so much to explore with the puzzle games, and I think you've gotten it.
I liked the idea of the colour shifting as the primary mechanic -- the jumping height (based on coloured blocks) in addition to the primary mechanic of colour shifting did add another level of challenge to the gameplay, though I was curious what the game would be like if you focused only on the primary mechanic instead (as it's a strong concept by itself). Obviously the jumping height was the component for the game jam though lol.
Thanks for sharing!!
Thank you for your comments!
I think, if given more time, I'd have loved to expand the concept in all possible directions; I certainly would've loved to do more puzzle-centred stages, for example. But with just a week and time ever-decreasing, I fell back on into my personal comfort zone of platforming challenges for the most part. Perhaps if I didn't push for 25 levels... (but I really wanted that nice 5x5 level select grid...)
Again, thank you. This means a lot to me. <3
I totally feel you, we wanted to add more levels too but realised we didn't have time either haha
It was a great game nonetheless! Definitely something to be proud of. :)
at first it was confusing for me, because of using many colors in some levels, like level 7. I played till level 11 and precise jumps got frustrating, then I gave up .
visuals were appropriate, sound effects were great. It was innovative game but I think if you work more on level design it could become a catchy and fum game. good job :)
Thanks for your comments.
Believe me, I wish I could've worked more on level design, but a week is a very short time. But again, thank you. <3
yes I know, we ran out of time too :D
Wow, those visual effects are stunning!
The idea is really original, this game is awesome!
Thank you, so much! <3
This game is amazing, the art style mixed with the sound and narrating creates a great atmosphere
Thank you so very much, that means a lot! <3
Woahh this is amazing! The platformer movement is extremely satisfying, and great concept and mechanics. Also the sound effects and voice really help the atmosphere.
Thanks a lot, these comments mean a lot to me. <3
That is incredibly satisfying, the controls are nice! But i had a few trobules with reading the text
I guess i am a bit dyxlexic and it was hard to read the text for me
Noted; I suppose I could've used a clearer spritefont, but that was the only old one of mine lying around that really fit the aesthetic in any meaningful way. Perhaps I could've spared an hour drawing a new one? :)
Also, thank you. <3
so satisfing
Thank you! <3
Really interesting mechanic.
Super hard, but I like hard games!
Good job!
Thank you so much! <3
The controls felt really nice. It gave me some Portal vibes lol.
Yeah, Portal's a classic. You know what they say; if it works, steal it. ;)
Thank you! <3
holy god my eyes burn but i loved everything else good game
Yeah, the high colour contrast is a little harsh, which is why there are two dim levels and the retro TV effect for hopefully help to mitigate that somewhat. I'm glad you enjoyed the rest though, thank you. <3
( Completed every levels, couldn't post a screenshot in itch.io sadly :( )
Really had a blast in this one. Controls felt responsive and platforming was very fun, gives me some Portal vibes. Puzzle aspect of the mechanic could be utilized better, but great job overall!
Portal's great, obviously I'm a fan.
Thank you for the comments; I'd have loved to do more puzzles, but they took the longest time to design, and a week didn't seem quite long enough for that; I'm sure you understand.
Thank you very much for the comments. <3
Very clever. Severely mind-bending stuff, with smoothly implemented mechanics and physics, and a process of brain-breaking puzzle-solving while asking a lot of my platforming skills.
Awesome, thanks for playing!
And yeah, I can't seem to shake my tendency to make challenging platforming, can I? ;)
<3
Great game, one of the best i played this jam!
Thank you so very much, that means a lot to me. <3
Hey there @Pens n Pixels. WOW you did a pretty good game. It is playing pretty nice. Good job^^
I would be happy if you playtest our game too :D Here is the link: https://itch.io/jam/brackeys-5/rate/925955
Thank you, so much! <3
As for playing other games, I'm having a day of rest after the jam; and will play community entries (ones mentioned in my comments first! <3 ) tomorrow/Monday. Rest is important, jams can be hectic - take care of yourself, friend. :)
really weird but also really fun!
Thank you, thank you! <3
Super fun!
Thank you so much! <3
I have a platformer in the Game Jam too. not at all as good, as it was me doing the art for the first time, and my friend doing the code for the first time.
