The player enters a mysterious world where time is ir-relative! You can REWIND time!

Did you write most of the code yourself and made all the assets from scratch?
As this is my very first game jam, I have created all the assets by myself.

Its a nice game. The Graphics are OK . at least you keep consistent with the look of the game. And you manage to fit the theme of the game clearly. I want to encourage you to keep on making games, you are only 13 and this is a stepping stone for tomorrow, you can go far! Dont give up. be constant and you will succeed. in 5 years if you keep at it. It will be mind blowing. Please check out my game man:)

Developer

Thank you!

First of all great job considering your age and that this is your first game jam. As a priority, I'd fix the collisions, This is probably because the colliders of the objects aren't well adjusted to the sprite or the scale of the objects is too small (seeing the space between colliding objects). You should zoom out the camera a little bit too. Having said this, great job and keep it up!.

Developer

I will fix this after the game jam is over.

Hello Kridox, thanks for playing my game, here's the feedback that I promised to your game, I might a bit harsh but you can just skip/delete this comment if you don't want to see this. I know you're 13 years old but still...

FEEDBACK:

  • COLLISION DETECTION isn't good. As also said by Blue Cactus Games, the collision isn't good and it is jittery when the player walks on certain platforms.
  • The MOVING PLATFORM can't be transport me along with it. It moves on its own and when I tried to jump on it hoping it would transport me to the other side, it just didn't happen.
  • The CHARACTER'S MOVEMENT feels off. Did you use the Rigidbody2D? Some tutorials teach stuff about the Rigidbody2D with a clunky movement. This puts the players off. If you know Brackeys then you must go to Jonas Tyroller YouTube channel and search for his 2D Platformer, there he will teach you stuffs about this.
  • The PIXEL ART of the game is decent but you can improve it by going to the opengameart.org and get really cool pixel arts if you're not an artist.
  • But overall, this is really good game, in a short amount of time you made the UI and the Ending Part, kudos for you.

And I just wanted you to know that congratulations on making your first game within 7 days. I finished your game by the way. It was fun to know that a 13 years old made it.

I enjoyed playing this platformer game. Here is my feedback about it:

  • You should rework the collisions so everything works a little bit nicer. Sometimes I got stuck on flat ground because (I suppose) some of the sprites were not perfectly aligned. And I'm pretty sure I fell through a platform but that may be due to my lack of skills!  I feel like the collision box of spike is a square, am I right? If so, you're making 50% of background killing the player for apparently no reason. Overall it's not a big deal for a jam game but if you correct that, the game will be way more enjoyable. I don't know if that's what you're using but Unity Tilemaps could be pretty useful in this case.
  • At some point it got very hard to see where I was going. I like the art of the game and I think if you dezoomed a little bit, the player would also get to enjoy the world you designed for him.
  • When the player dies, the character is immediately respawned back to the last checkpoint. If you add an animation and let the player see why they died, that would help tremendously!

All these are not big issues but I just wanted to provide a complete feedback in case you wanted to improve the game. I really enjoyed playing it anyway! Keep up the good work!

Developer

Thank you for the feedback! I woll definition make changes in the future

It was hard to see what was coming next, maybe zoom camera out a little more.

Developer

ok thx for the feedback

Interesting game! I enjoyed the story and the game was presented well! I enjoyed the sprites of the game despite them being so simple. Sound effects and especially the music were also a great addition to your game!

I felt like the movement of the player was a little bit too fast or maybe the camera was way too zoomed in. It was a little hard for me to react quick enough to rewind time in certain places. Sometimes I found my character getting stuck at certain places, but those didn't really bother me that much.

Overall a fun game! Well done!

Submitted(+1)

Well done! I don't know if the infinite jump was an intended feature, but it's funny ahahahha  there is some bug, but nothing too important. I managed to finish it. It could be more polished with some lights and particle effects, but overall well done ;)

Developer

Actually the infinite jump was a bug but I realised it after I uploaded the game on itch.io 😂

A really awesome game for a first Jam. There were some bugs like the player getting stuck at some places and sometimes it gets stuck on the edges of the ground. The animations were good. Also when the first moving platform introduced, you should make it a bit more synchronized with the movement of the player. But apart from that, great game.

Could you please take the time to rate my game too? It would mean a lot to me if you did.

Developer

thank you for taking your time to write this comment! Will check out your game when I get time

Hey! Nice game!

I have some suggestions, if you don't mind:

  • Make the rewind more useful. Right now, you can complete the game without even using it;
  • I had issues with collisions. Sometimes, I got stuck in the invisible collider;
  • The fact that moving platforms don't move the player is kinda weird;
  • You may want to zoom out the camera, so the player would have a better view. Right now it is too close and creates very bad situations like this, where the player can't see where he would fall, so it is kind of a leap of faith for him. Which is a bit unfair.

Contgrats on completing the jam!

Wow! This is really helpful! I am really thankful because u took the time to write this comment! And just so u know, this was my very first game jam. So it was a new experience for me and I kinda panicked at the end so I had to submit it quickly without any finishing touches. But over-all a real thank you for writing this comment

Submitted(+1)

Congrats on completing your first jam then) Hope you had fun yourself, while you were making the game - this is the most important thing. I hope you have learnt something useful during the jam and you will use this knowledge to create your future game. And I really hope that this jam is not your last)

Great game! Great work for your first jam!

Nice game! Made by a 13 yo, it is quite impressive! I would make something so the rewind mechanic is way more useful, felt like it wasn't really important here. Camera needs a bit more zoom out, sometimes i couldn't see.

Graphics are ok, and audio is also nice.

Good Job!

Check our game too if you have time :)

Developer

thank you!

Great job on completing the game JAM! I mean you created a game in a week! Congrats!

Great concept, unique art. The music was fun at the beginning then it got annoying.

Maybe try zooming out the camera a bit, as It was sometimes difficult to see, where the platforms are, So I just jumped randomly in hope of finding a platform.

Developer

thank you for the suggestion! I will definately improve it!

Submitted(+1)

Nice short game. I read the game was made by a 13yo boy. That add extra points.
The rewind option wasn't really useful for me. I generally die to fast to be able to use it in time, but I tested and it works fine.
Good job! Keep it up developing games. Congratulations!

Developer(+1)

Thank you LordDiego! This was my first game jam as well so that's a really helpful comment on your part!

Glad it helps

Good game

Really fun platformer! I love the speedy movement and the framing of the camera combined with this makes it pretty challenging but in a fun way. I did find a bug where I could jump infinitely which allowed me to skip some parts.  Anyway really great job for your first jam!

Developer

I did actually realise that but I realised it after I uploaded the game to the jam 😂

Submitted(+1)

I don't know if it was just my version of the game, but I tried pressing R and didn't notice anything happening as a rewind? A good submission for your first game jam, so you should be proud :)

Developer

you had to hold 'R' for it to rewind
