Straightforward platformer... Congratulations on your first game! I liked the way your characters were built and animated... was playing through until I got frustrated with a small platform lol

Pretty good game. I only disliked the jumps where you needed to be precise, and the lack of a background, but besides that its a great game.

Fun game Platforming is a bit clunky but for the rest it's a great first game

Congrats on finishing your first game jam! The  game is pretty good, I like the music and I appreciate the inverse kinematics on the hands. Great job!

Was fun. Simplistic which could be expected from a 1 week jam. Good job!

Could you please play and rate my game as well?

i liked messing around

Platforming could be smoother. Overall a fun little game!

Really enjoyed playing this game I thought it was great, loved the concept and take on the theme, the only thing i would say to maybe improve it is to rearrange the blocks you can jump on in the levels as sometimes it the character would get stuck from time to time, but other than that i really enjoyed it, you did a great job :)

Fun little game, I liked that it was kept simple, graphic and control wise since in a jam you get to try out a lot of games and learn their quirks. Only thing I would suggest is make it a bit harder, the actual platforming or add a few new enemies to make it harder for the player.Nice submission

Some assets don't fit well together. Gameplay is very simplistic, I like that for a game jam games.

The game was very simple which is good. The only problem that i encounter was that character keeps slipping at the platform. and there is a part in the game that nothing happens after collecting all the rewind buttons. hope you try mine as well

Developer

You probably missed a button, it's supposed to get you to the next level. I'll try your game now!

Submitted(+1)

yeah i probably did, and i actually cant get back to check because the platform that i jumped from was too high

Hey!

I liked the simplicity and the goofy theme of the game, damn those mystery strangers for stealing his rewind buttons. I agree that the art style of the main character and the tiles clashed pretty heavily and didn't work too well together. I would love to see more levels where there are different enemies or the platforming was a little tougher. Great job, I had a lot of fun!

Developer

I might continue working on it. Thanks!

The animation on both the player and the enemies is amazing. The player movement was a bit floaty and the circle colliders on the feet probably weren't the best choice but it's fine. If you were to continue working on the game, I would recommend that you use the raw input to control the player in order to give it a more snappy feel and add a 2d physics material with a a high friction value if the slipping persists.

Developer

I had problems with high friction, the player would get stuck everywhere. I'll try to fix it once the voting is over

I love the look of this game. I don't know why.
But the player movement fealt bad. Maybe add a rectangle collider to Jimmys feet so you won't slide off a ledge. That would already be a big improvement.

Developer

I know it feels bad, it isn't intentional. His colliders are a box for the top part and a circle at the bottom, both without friction so he's kinda slippy, that's because he used to get stuck everywhere, on platform edges, platform sides, when he jumped, this was the only way I could solve it. There is probably a better way to deal with it, I'll do more research next time. Thanks for the feedback btw :)

A fun game, I enjoyed how smooth the controls where and I enjoyed the animation when you walked around! One thing I would suggest would be to add some sort of feedback when an enemy is hit so I know I'm shooting correctly.

Developer

I probably will after the rating period ends! There is a sound but it's a little silent

It was actually way more fun than I thought it would be! I actually made a game similar to this  with stickmen instead!

i think that since you made the player and enemy art using simple squares, you should have went for simple squares for the floor and platforms as well, they look out of place

Particles are cool but i think it needed more "game juice" like screenshake when explosion, firing, and enemy death. Some particles for the enemy death instead of instadeleting the enemy would have done better as well

Overall great job!

Developer

Thank you so much!

Everything was very clear about how to play. The game has all the expected platformer features. The aggro posture of the enemies is a nice touch. If you were going to keep working on the game, I would suggest you add some audio and visual feedback when the enemies and the player are getting hit and taking damage. Good job getting to a complete game!
