An interesting entry for the jam. I definitely think this had a lot of potential, but I'm afraid a lot of people didn't make it much further than the first few turns. The problem isn't that the game is hard, because that's fine if that's part of your design, but I think it might be wise to easy the player into the level a bit more, and make it progressively become harder. I probably suck, but had an impossible time getting myself through the first u-turn. I felt like the drifting mechanic made me make turns a bit too quickly, basically 180-ing my hoverboard in a heartbeat, which isn't really how I had imagined drifing would work. I did really like the sense of speed and the jumps in this, so I hope you can make the game (at least in the beginning) a bit more accesible for people, that'd be great! Great game overall, hope you keep developing it :)

Had a play of your game in this video here - at 40:10 -, where I give my thoughts while I play. Hopefully it's helpful feedback.

If you have time I'd greatly appreciate it if you could give my game a go to, happy jamming

Nice and challenging. Controlling the vehicle was little bit hard. Also adding some texture and color to it would be awesome. It reminded me the Trackmania. Well done!

It's definitely a bit too hard at first especially considering we don't have a decent grasp at what the movement is like in the game when we first start out, but the map is pretty cool and the game is fun to play

A very challenging game! The visuals are very smooth and clear, though it might help if the player had a color to make it more distinctive from the roads. The music and sound effects are very good, too.

Criticisms/Suggestions:

I had a hard time getting used to the controls - the slow acceleration/deceleration and the turning. There could be some easy tutorial levels where you get used to controls and other mechanics (doors). Just getting through that first U-turn in the beginning of the level took a dozen tries.

Clarification with some mechanics would help, too. In the second level the last door was closed and I have no idea why. Didn't see any buttons down there either. So I couldn't beat that one.

I haven't played Super Monkey Ball, so maybe I'm just be lacking knowledge and experience of the genre.

It is a well-made game though, and feels very polished!

Key there, thanks for your reply. A tutorial was out of the question given how little time I had left when I was finished,  but I get that the controls are a bit long to get used to. About that door closing, I think you're talking about the final door : Each final door requires you to collect a certain number of coins (displayed on screen). If you don't have it, then the door won't open, which is part of the challenge of getting the best time while also collecting as many coins as possible.

Great aesthetic and idea! The controls were quite challenging for me, but I wonder if you can change some of the level design to help it, such as rails for the first level at least. Good job overall though!

Nice implementation, art and music there. love the hoverboard with tail light and light jump feedback. well done.

on the level design side, please make first few levels easy. Add new stuff like doors, after the basics.

tbh I couldn't finish even the first level. I tried with controller too but too hard for me. but I tried like 30 times before quitting. so theres that :3 I opened the door but died right after that. should have taken it slower.

Anyways, except it being too hard, everything else was great! great job. ^^

P.S if you try my game please check the link in description for a web Build. it also has music in it. ^^ no need to rate the music though.

I played the game for few mins and I didn't like controls. You should definitely work on them. Also levels seems to be hard may be because of controls.

But Overall good job on the game.

Lol. I didn't read the description before playing.

The sensitivity is to high right now for my opinion and I must say that I find the first level way to hard as well. But besides that very cool Game I really like it :D

Cool idea. The controls are a little tricky.

It's a cool concept, but I don't like the controls at all, they're very annoying an unfriendly to the player. I think controls that have almost immediate response from the player is better. Also the level design is a little tedious. The first stretch of the first level, for example, was pretty cool, until I got to the gate, where I had to turn around, then collect three coins, THEN go through. Also stuff like ridiculously thin beams are not fun and with the type of controls the game offers, is frustrating.

Hey there, thank you for your feedback. I'm perfectly aware my game is tedious, I made it intentionally difficult akin to something like the Super Monkey Ball games (except I didn't have a rollerball in my assets, so I had to use a hoverboard instead , that's all I got :/). As I don't have much experience in this kind of concept, i tried to base myself on some games I owned as references, but these games were really difficult, I must admit. Anyway, thanks again for your anwser
