How does the game fit the theme?
Roll dice to charge your spells, but be careful not to roll too many skulls or your spell will backfire!

A very simple premise that makes for a very fun game! Good job!
I really enjoyed this game, overall great job!
Really, really awesome! It’s not only fully playable but already really fun - and I can clearly see the vision behind it! :) Once a second skull appeared on a die, the push-your-luck mechanic became way more interesting. And I just love the art style, especially the knockback animation. So cool!
Thank you!
LEGALIZE NUCLEAR BOMBS
Really cool idea but above all a fantastic implementation and presentation! It looks and feels great. Nice work!
Thank you, glad you enjoyed it!
This game is awesome! The visuals are really nice, the game itself is really enjoyable. And it fits the theme very well.
For a first game jam, you did more than great.
P.S. I really like how the less health you have, the closer you are to the edge.
Thanks!
Really enjoyed your game! It’s a clever and fun take on the theme, with visuals and gameplay that blends great in a charming way. The scope is spot-on for a jam—manageable but with plenty of potential to expand further. One idea could be to add more dice types tied to different spells or effects, which might bring even more variety and strategy into play.
Thank you, yeah I definitely want to add some more dice!
Very nice and short dice game. I liked it but I did not understand why I should stop rolling the dice before I got 2 skulls. I did not want to add another dice which had a skull on it though... Could become an addictive game.
very nice post-processing !
Thanks!
This game nailed it on the idea of risk it for the biscuit. I kept pushing my luck trying to one shot my enemy and it eventually got me when I rolled 3 Skulls!
Thank you!
The game doesn't seem to scale correctly in the browser, and I don't download jam games unfortunately. 😓😓
I recognize this problem in Godot, you can fix it by changing some of the display settings inside your project settings.
I think it's scaling to viewport and then reducing the viewport size into something that will fit in the browser.
Thank you I think I've fixed that now, sorry it always seemed to work on my browser for some reason so didn't understand the issue but your advice helped (assuming it is actually fixed, please let me know if not) I hope you give it another go :)
Yes, it's fixed now! I'll try it again later and leave a review! 😁
Good concept and well done! Just a pity the browser version had some sizing issues.
I think maybe I fixed that but let me know if not, should even sort of work on browser on mobile now. I think there is some text (and another skull icon) that appears above the screen from my abandoned plans for a tutorial segment, but that isn't supposed to be visible anyway. Hopefully the rest of the game sizes properly :/
Ok I actually think I've fixed this for real now (I hope)
Hey, for some reason the game wasn't correctly fit into the game window on the page, and the downloadable version is the WebGL build, not an executable. It seems like a very minor mistake so I'll wait on rating it till then, I know being a solo developer is incredibly tough, and the game looks interesting, and fun, but I want to be able to experience it in the correct aspect ratio.
EDIT: This game is one of the best I have played so far. I found myself smiling the entire time. The second round I got very lucky and was able to one shot the opponent which felt very good. Overall a great and fun game, very creative! This is absolutely the strongest solo developed game I've played, its truly great!
Thank you for flagging this! This is my first time exporting a game and uploading to itch :/ I think I've uploaded some executable files now so I hope you'll give it a try.
You're all good, building to WebGL the first time was really hard for me. Unfortunately, the windows Exe (I don't know about the Mac) doesn't quite work. It gives the reason that it is missing the .pck file, which I can't quite take a crack at the cause for, but you can probably figure something out from your end. I apologize to keep bothering you but this game looks fun and engaging enough that I want to make sure it's the best it can be. Stuff like this is hard the first time you do it, so no blame there at all.
Whoops ok I've uploaded again with the .pck file. Hopefully that works now. Unfortunately I'm on mac so I can't test it. Thanks again for letting me know :)
Ok, now it works, thank you! I have my feedback in the original edited post (it's positive I promise lol)
Really fun game! A great example of scope control - everything feels crisp and looks nice .
The fonts, the tiny wizards, the dice animations. Also, the chosen sounds & music are fun.
I found it a tad too easy in the beginning, but i guess it's good to start & explain it that way.
Love it! The in-browser version doesn't seem to allow full-screen which meant that I couldn't really see what was going on, but I like the simple art style and the core mechanic is a fun take on the theme!
Great fun! Love how the dice are presented in the tray when you roll them, and how they bounce off each other.
I did notice that after I completed round 7 and chose my reward (+1 max Skull), the next opponent did not appear. Maybe that is the end of the game, if not a bug?
Ah yeah sorry I thought I'd fixed that bug but I think I only updated the downloadable version. I just re uploaded and tested in the browser, should be working now. Glad you enjoyed it! :)
Good game! I ended up playing for quite a while without even noticing, haha. Maybe one critique could be that the gameplay mostly comes down to rolling dice until you get two skulls (possibly one-shotting the enemy). The only real moment where you have to decide whether to take a risk or keep going is when you’re unlucky enough to roll two skulls in a row and don’t have a shield to protect yourself. But even with that, the game is fun, so excellent work!
Haha yeah I really didn't plan enough time to properly play test and balance it, currently its really easy to win by just picking the 4 sided attack dice and avoiding extra skull dice. But hey, we live and we learn. Glad you enjoyed it :)
Excellent idea and execution! Love minimalist games! As feedback, I didn’t know which mage I was hahaha. Definitely try to expand on the concept, very solid game.
This is a great example of "less is more" and how to do a simple concept in a perfect way! So many great details and polish around a simple yet fun core mechanic. Really good work on this one. I will definitely find myself replaying this in the future.
It is good i played it for awhile, first i dont get the game but i get it after awhile i am just concern about the mechanics i can just roll the dice till the dice sided with me i dont know if its a bug or what and if its intentional a feature of the game i think this game will be bias and some players will abuse that mechanincs, overall its good
This was my first game jam and first ever "finished" game. It is heavily inspired by games like Die in the Dungeon and Slay the Spire but I tried to add a level of risk by allowing the player to keep building their spells until they push their luck too far and the spell backfires.
I fear it's not very well balanced, but I'm just happy its done :)
Please let me know about any game breaking bugs.
