How does the game fit the theme?
At the end of each round you need to gamble for upgrades and use your limited number of rerolls to help manage your luck. You always have the option to risk it for the biscuit with a 50/50 chance of a punishing penalty or legendary reward.

What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?

Lovely little game and I love the design of the goblins! I had a ton of fun. I rate it 10 out of 10 goblins! image.png

I had a lot of fun, though once I realized the buffs weren’t individual to each goblin but are universal, just changing the goblin type changes them, that kind of detracted from the mental calculus I was doing. Goblin knights seem absurdly OP. The Big Guy would “overload” me every time I summoned him which was a little frustrating to use. I’m not sure the frost spell ever gets cast or does damage? Doesn’t seem to increase damage for frost goblins. Actually elemental knights in general don’t seem to benefit from their element.

Anyway, I had a ton of fun with this, even if the sound got a little grating with tons of goblins smacking the tower over and over again. I got to level 24 a couple times on hard mode, I wonder if it’s possible to go much farther? Great work, would love to play more if it ever gets developed further!

Developer

happy to hear you enjoyed. Level 24 on hard is really good going :o

Buffs applying to both goblins was quite a late change since it was making one goblin type feel quite useless. Frost goblins are actually a little different from the other types as it heals rather than gains damage like the other 2 elements.

You're not the first to say about the sounds getting a bit grating so I'll try improve on that, I was trying to get the bloons td or risk of rain type feel where its a hit sound that can be repetitive without driving you crazy but I can see how it can be a bit much on the current version.

Since the jam ended I've continued some development on the game with some pretty major reworks to the gameplay to make it more interesting and how stats work to help make it easier to keep things more balanced in future. Goblin knights, lil guys and a reworked version of devils were all pretty late additions before the deadline that I accidently power crept above any of the other upgrades :')

The plan next if I continue on this project is going to be adding a lot more variety to the gameplay beyond just the attacking the tower/roulette wheel and adding a lot more decisions to make when it comes to scaling in different ways. Theres already a few more stats added in the new build such as crit chance, crit damage and health regen.

Hoping to have an update ready to share once the jam is over. Thanks again for playing and feel free to follow me on itch if you want to see where the games goes

Had a blast! got the big guy with a frost upgrade early on and breezed through the early wizards and knights. Really enjoyed the premise of this and the charming visuals and music :) Well done.

Man, first time i thought iam the wizard haha. And after that. respawning each goblin is very fun haha. The story mode quite easy because the buff pretty op and spawn everytime haha. Great game!

I really like the concept and the game was really fun! I by mistake traded my cool knight goblins for slow big guys 😭 (so maybe a confirmation prompt like "do you really wanna trade your super epic knights for this dude?" would be nice. Disclaimer: all hate is at a comedic level, we love all goblins🫂). On another note, I got two legendary rolls in a row and was happy 😎
Overall, great work!!

Tower defense? Nah, that's overrated. We're doing the tower offense!

Amazing work here! The idea is very creative. I really like the concept of risking getting and upgrade just for it to end up being an upgrade of your opponent.

Keep up the good work!

Developer

Thankyou :) I didn't do a great job of explaining it through the gameplay but the wizard upgrades can also sometimes be flipped around to benefit yourself with some of the elemental goblin upgrades

Started playing and lost track of time—the core loop is strong and kept me engaged.

My main note is visual feedback: when goblins or enemies pick up buffs, it’s hard to read at a glance. Consider stronger VFX and clearer cues (color/aura/icon changes, size/gear tweaks) so we can see progression and state changes immediately.

Aside from that, the gameplay feels solid. Congrats—already on my follow list!

Thankyou for the kind words and feedback, glad you've enjoyed it. I am considering continuing with this project after the jam so I'll make a note to try to improve clarity on those kind of changes

Perfect ! I’ve added it to my list and will be following future updates.

Fun game! I liked the design and animation of the goblins

gameplay well executed and bug free!

I'd maybe add a arrow to the wheel spin so i can see what the wheel lands on precicely but overall i really liked it :)

Developer

Thanks :) we did have a hand ready for the roulette to land on but I ran out of time to get it in and working unfortunately. We spent the last day getting a couple more legendary upgrades added for a bit more variety

Lots of unique buffs and golbins, good effort well worth it cuz it was fun : ) hard mode gets actually hard towards the end RIP

Cool game, really liked it. The best part for me are the sounds, makes the game a lot of fun to play.

This game is so much damn fun. The only thing is i wish it was a bit clearer what certain abilities do. But seriously i could not stop playing it!!

This game was awesome! So much fun, but hard mode seems a bit too difficult compared to the tutorial. Really good idea and super fun!!

Developer

the scaling after round 10 goes from linear to exponential so ramps up very quickly, itd probably be good to make the jump a bit less extreme :')

thankyou for playing and the feedback

Really cool game idea. Love the art and fun to play for the game jam the loop was fun

Cool game! I had fun playing it! Like the goblins' death animation.

Here is what I found disturbing:

  • If my bar of the first goblin is full, I can't summon the second goblin.
  • How does the wheel work? It shows random stuff but not what at the top.
  • I think could be a little bit boring on retries. Need more of gameplay variety!
Developer

Glad you enjoyed and thankyou for the feedback. Happy you liked the goblin animations, Ill pass that on to the artist :)

- the idea of the bars was meant to be part of the risk reward theme with trying to summon as many as possible without maxing out the bars which 'burns out' both of your summons and puts them on a cooldown. I couldve done a better job of visually showing this.

- sadly did not get around to having the hand working on the wheel so visually it does not match up with the result it just spins at random. We ended up prioritising getting a bit more upgrade variety in before the deadline

- I agree in its current state its a little to one dimensional for long term replayability. If I am to continue this project after this jam one of my first plans would be to add some variety asides just attacking the tower and systems to help with different gameplay feel for different kinds of builds

Not sure if my goblin knights were supposed to get that powerful but it felt awesome!

This game was really fun! I love goblins so that was really good. I did get archer goblins on the first round and I think that might have broken the game.

I like the different goblins!
