How does the game fit the theme?
Nothing can go wrong...
...when you can rewind time.

It's also a parody on how "big companies" tend to steal everyone's data. Which invokes a "nothing can go wrong..." reaction as well as people can be nonchalant about their data. So we tried to apply the theme in both a mechanical and a narrative sense.

What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?
Tools: Unity, FMOD, Blockbench, FL Studio, Aseprite, Paint.net

It was a really fun and Satisfying experience. Loved the Attack animations and the dashing. The combat is sometimes really fun but sometimes hard at the same time. A bit more tweaking could make it really great. The visuals are incredible can't believe you guys made it in a week. Great Job! Keep up the good work.

Thank you so much!! :D

Very very nice graphics!

damn never gonna trust USBs ever again

The game crashed for me twice in the middle of it, using a Radeon Vega 64 graphics card. Couldn't replicate it properly, it crashed once when I jumped to the top of one of the buildings, and once when I broke the boxes where there was a pile of them

Nice game though, looks like a lot of work went into it!

Developer

Thanks for playing! Sad to hear that you had a crash!! :c

Amazing what level of polish you reached in just a week, while also engaging with the theme. Experiencing  "noo I just barely messed up that jump, wait I can just rewind and try again" was really nice and made sure the theme was always present. I didn't get the plot's relevance for the theme, I guess I must've missed most of it as I ended up not finding anything new after a while of running around.

I found the sfx of the player landing a bit confusing, as it's very similar to the one they make when they get hurt. I'd suggest leaving it out altogether or replacing it with just louder footsteps instead, especially since it plays repeatedly when just jumping around the map. I also wish there'd be more reasons to use the rewind mechanic, maybe platforming sections where falling off kills the player instead of just bringing them back to street level, so that rewinding would be encouraged more.

Awesome game all around still, congrats!

Thank you for the kind words, I agree with the rewinding feedback and the sounds. :)

The 3d pixel art looks good! I had a hard time with the combat but the dash wash fun. I especially liked the park by the sea!

Thank youu!!

Nice gameplay and graphics, like the PS1 vibe of art style, feels like old ps1 games, Spyro and other games.

Developer(+1)

Thank you, Spyro was a huge inspiration!

I really liked this game! It comes with a nice setting combined with the audio design it creates a nice atmosphere.

The forward dash when attacking with lmb felt a bit unintuitive because you can already dash with rmb, wich also destroys things. I think it would be nice to remove the dash on lmb and make the rmb dash also attack enemies while having a little cooldown. (This is just my personal opinion though:) )

I really liked the enemies, the drones in the air were kind of hard to hit tho and it wasn't clear how big my attack range is.

I also really liked the open world feeling of the map. It was very rewarding to climb on a random house to find some collectables. You could maybe make it more clear, that destroying the servers allows me to go through the orange barriers, maybe place glowing cable from the server to the barrier or something.

The camera rotating in the players move direction was a bit annoying, personally I would prefer to have full control over the camera look direction.

A slider for mouse sensitivity in the settings would be nice.

Overall great game, had fun playing it!

Interesting game concept! I love the overall visual and audio of the game! :D
The idea of the character rewind the step to previous several seconds has a lot of gameplay potential!

The game itself felt really good in term of animation and visual, but there's some problem I encountered regarding the controls.
I think the camera should be free of the character rotation, it felt really hard to look around every time the character changing direction or rotate. And also, the camera acceleration made it hard to focus on the character action.
I'd suggest implementing free flow combat system, because attacking is really hard when the character is dashing all over the place while doing attack moves. with free flow combat system, the character will snap onto the target the player wants to attack but still feels dynamic.

My personal suggestion: about the rewind mechanic, I think you guys should create an emphasis on that mechanic alone! Make the game more focused! Like maybe creating a puzzle game, or even platforming game, with that mechanic alone will make a unique gameplay upon generic/seems boring genre of a game. because on the current game, it seems like the rewind mechanic is overshadowed by the fast-paced and action combat system you guys made. The rewind would work if there's something in the combat that requires the player to do it. (don't worry too much about this tho, just my personal thought!) :)

Overall, I like the game! looks really nice! :D

It's a really nice game for a 6day game jam! The graphics are amazing and the sound design too ^^

The only thing bothering me was the camera fighting agaisnt me, i look left but go right so the camera goes to the right and it's making me go crazy xd

And know the level is very 3dimensional with parts going up and down, you shouldnt lock the camera movement for the vertical axis.

Developer(+1)

Thank you! We fixed the camera issues in 1.0.2. :)

The camera up/down restriction is a little jank, but very enjoyable game

Thank you! I'm happy you enjoyed it!! :D

You guys did a very good job, i love the graphics, the pixel art filter is so good, as well as the bloom and other effects. Gameplay got me a bit stunned for a second but I got it pretty quick.
Good job
8/10 :)
