Very fun game!

This is an unexpected entry! I am a big fan of the game Amateur Surgeon, so I am longing for any game like it. Thank you very much for that. The art is very nice, the tools are very familiar if you played Amateur Surgeon, the gameplay is on point. The amount of content is not much, but it's already enough for a one-week jam. Good job!

For a bit of criticism, I'd say it would make more sense if there was a tool that could detect wounds inside the body, and not just by the notes alone. I mean, how is it even possible to know if there is a wound in the first place. I would also suggest changing the cursor to the tool the player selected.  It's always a good idea to let the player know they have correctly selected the desired tool. This will ease some confusion especially when using the "hand" tool. Last but not least, it would also be good to add an upward pointing and a downward pointing arrow on both sides of the screen, just to hint to the player that you can look up and down.

Anyway, I think you did a pretty nice job making this game. Keep up the good work!

Great simulator! I really enjoyed it, but it took me a while to figure out how to treat the ribs)) And when two ribs overlap each other, it's easier to just start over)

Developer

We made it so that you can get more than 1 rib at a time, and they will all snap to the correct position if you hover their correct spot. It looked more satisfying and felt nicer and faster

Strange, my colleague and I played for about 15 minutes today and didn't notice that. We'll try again. If that's the case, then you did a great job anticipating it!

Can't believe I found something like Amateur Surgeon! It brings back so many memories. I think it would be better if the surgeon tool columns could be minimised.

Really fun and kind of horrible but in a good way. Reminds me of surgeon simulator, great job!

I think it's pretty fun that you can spam the stabler. Better safe than sorry!

Nice fun little game, a tutorial would be nice, took a while until I understood that you can look "into" the body.

Nice Game

Very cool game! Gameplay terrifies me--well done. The fear of making the mistake is increased by the tools looking not at all like surgeon tools but being everday items. A very solid game!

Nice concept idea, very great art and audio. I'm a little bit confused on how to use the bat or the lighter at the beginning.

PS. You left a comment on my solo submission, but that submission has been deleted in favor of the group submission. May I ask you to replay it (it has different setup) and re-comment please?

This brings me back to those browser games I used to play as a kid, I love that every item is just stuff you can find at home and not actually surgery/ medical equipment. Took me a second to understand how to play the game, having a patient 0 that explains the mechanics would have helped but other than that I had fun once I got the gist of it. Well done!!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! Hope you liked our game. We really wanted to make a tutorial, but time really wasn't on our side unfortunatly, so we just put an help button (?) and hope people could have figured it out themselves :(

Glad I never wanted to be a surgeon (# ̄ω ̄)

Didnt expect to broke someone ribs with a baseball bat then glue it back with some paper glue.
10/10 would extract a pen of someone lung again.

There's nothing a 100 staples to the chest won't fix. Fun idea!

love the art! and I'm glad to now add surgeon to my resume :)

This game made me feel so nostalgic about those old surgery flash games. A bit hard to figure out what's happening but still pretty cool. Great visuals

Very nice art, could not figure out how to win though -- I tried fixing all the wounds but I still got the "Failed" message. Maybe there were some I missed?

Developer

I guess we focused too much on making everything look good and forgot about clarity...

The condition to win would be curing all the wounds and then click on "Terminate operation" in the Patient File.

The art and gameplay are both very beautiful its a very fun concept!!
