How does your game represent Mode?
"An Origami Tale" represents "Mode" through two gameplay styles:
Origami Mode:
Use the character's unique origami transformations to pave your way through the stages, each origami transformation giving the player different path alternatives to reach the goal.
Craft Mode:
Seamlessly switch to Craft Mode at any time to shape and customize stages using the resources you have available. Create new paths, block obstacles, reach daunting spots!

a fun puzzle platformer that has good mechanical symmetry between the different paper types. the origami paper theming was really fun and consistent!
Thanks! It was definitely something that took some energy to come up with! It was very cool to see you playing it on stream!
Really awesome game! I quite like the mechanics and how it feels like there are multiple ways to solve a level. The art style was nice also. Really great work it was a lot of fun!
Saying my game is fun really means a lot coming from you! Had a blast with your game. Thanks for playing :))
Great submission. I had quite a lot of fun and it really fits the theme well. Got stuck on some parts but still managed to win in the end. It's also a very creative entry. The graphics are pretty charming although there was a few little inconsistencies at times, but nothing very noticeable.
Thank you! Happy you enjoyed it!
Fantastic submission.
The two (small) pieces of constructive feedback I'd have are:
A brilliant project for the jam, and I hope to see further updates. Great job! :D

I loved this game. very polished in terms of presentation. and the gameplay is very interesting and unique. getting the hang of the momentum with the origami abilities was a bit challenging but fun. level designs were also really well-made. awesome time.
:D Thank you!! Momentum is a really big part of it, I think we should have left it a bit clearer, but very glad you enjoyed it!
Hello fellow puzzle-platformer! Loved this one! very tight controls, unique gameplay ideas, and lots of polish! I was impressed!
Puzzle-platformers, unite! Thanks for the feedback and for playing!
Game was fun, platforming was nice and relaxing. I thought the visuals looked very polished and the gameplay had thought to it. My only complaint was not having reset be keybound. I'd have to keep taking my hands off the keyboard which was a bit tiresome, especially if you're bad and kept messing up like me! Good job on the game, I can tell you put some work into it!
Thank you! And I completely agree, we should have definitely added a keyboard bind for the level reset and it is probably the first thing we will do when we continue the development!
This is a really well made game! The art is really polished and you can tell a lot of thought was put into the level design. It took me some time to get a hang of the controls, but I had a good experience overall.
Great game!
Thank you!! Glad my sleepless nights were worth it lol :D
I love puzzles, platforming, AND origami. This game delivers! Others have said it but I’ll repeat that the open-ended nature of puzzles like this is quite nice. There’s many different possibilities for how a level can be cleared, just as a square sheet of paper can be turned into just about anything.
Thanks!! Level design was the core building block of our game. We felt that, because of the mechanics, if the levels weren't smooth and thoroughly tested it wouldn't work. So we are suuper happy with all of these feedbacks :)))
Dunkey is going to love this one, it's challenging and kinda reminds me of Mario but with a lot of extra creativity. While it was difficult sometimes, it was also relaxing. Pretty casual and simple restarts when failing a level. Great game :) !
Thanks!!! Hope you are right lol. I am glas you found it relaxing, it was part of the aesthetic we were trying to convey :)
Absolutely fantastic! The theme was incorperated really well and gameplay was fun. Some things were a bit difficult to grasp at first (e.g. how the momentum of the character carries over into the transformations) but I got the hang of it. The only gripe I have with this game is that the music becomes really annoying really fast, so thank you for letting me mute it haha.
Thanks for playing! Glad you liked it. And yeah, I wish I could have spent more time with the music/sfx :((
abusing boing boing
Interesting idea! And really nice implementation! I don't get the complaints about the jump below; I thought the controls were very good. (So many jam platformers have really quirky movement. But these were smooth and predictable for me.)
Thank you! I think I can tweak the jump a little bit to feel lighter, but I am satisfied with what I could do with the time given!! Thanks for the feedback :)))
WOW! this was astoundingly good, i'm not sure what suggestions i could even give! everything from the art style, to the music, to the gameplay itself was some of the best i've seen in the jam so far. i love the two different takes on the mode theme, between the actual modes themselves and the transformations, and the small resource management aspect worked SUPER well with the platforming itself. not to mention how polished the game itself was! incredible job, i loved this a ton!
Thank you so much! It makes me really happy you feel that way about our game :')
Great gameplay. The overall origami style is very well done. Good job!. :)
Thank you!! :D
I absolutely adore this concept, its such a unique and original one! I will say, the only critique of mine is the jump, its a bit cumbersome. But thats an easy fix for this game, I love it. Well done!
Thank you for the feedback! And I agree, I think the jump can use some polishing as well. Thanks!
Cool gameplay and aesthetic! Very creative use of the theme, nice work!
Thank you!! Glad you liked it :)
Lots of originality in this one! Enjoyed the open-endedness of the levels!
Thank you very much! Really glad you enjoyed it :))
I found this game very charming and I think the theme was applied wonderfully! I the mechanics were well thought out and well constructed. I think that the jumping was a bit rough to get used to but otherwise the gameplay was fun.
This may be a me thing, but the only issue I really had was that the parallax felt weird on my eyes due to the background moving while there wasn't any movement in the foreground. Nice job!
Thank you!! Will definitely work on those points you've mentioned!
Fantastic game! I fully enjoyed my playthrough.
I was also interested in how it was possible to complete the entire game without craft mode. I tried it as a fun challenge, and it somehow worked out.
The platforming was a bit tricky sometimes, but that’s just me being a fool. I would have liked it if the craft mode played a more vital role, however. I would have also liked a quick access button to reset a level section. In the first section of the second level, for instance, it’s possible to mess up the first up and have to restart manually, which is a bit annoying. Other than that, great submission.
Thank you for sharing.
Thank you! I would really like to create levels with a bigger focus on craft mode as well!
There is a rewind button [<<] at the bottom-right corner that resets the section you are in, would you prefer to reset the section using a keyboard key?
Yeah, that’s kind of what I meant. Most of the controls are keyboard-focused and require two hands. Thus, I let go of my mouse as a result. But then you need to move your mouse to select the reset button the moment you get stuck, which was a bit troublesome.
