Please post your completed game links here to promote. Please follow the rules and voting criteria on https://itch.io/jam/beginners-circle-jam-2

PLEASE DO NOT post more than once or re-post after I and others have commented and played through your game :) Be fair to all the other participants

Submitted

shouldn't you wait until the game jam submissions are over, so people can't copy other's games?

Quite unlikely to happen

Can you best all 8 levels and escape? If so how long did it take you?

cool game, it's a little laggy on my device though

Submitted

Thank you! and yeah its a little bit laggy on mine as well,  the downloadable version runs much nicer for me!

Submitted (1 edit)

it runs pretty good on my windows though, I have a chromebook and a windows pc. It runs so much better on windows. (It might be because my chromebook is a pretty old model)

Submitted

thanks for fixing the lag on the web version

Submitted (1 edit)

795 seconds.

Aesthetics is good.

Gameplay was stressful for me, when I first time tried the game, I gave up. "Can you best all 8 levels?" No! I couldn't complete even 3 levels. Maybe because it was more laggy then?  I see other comment saying that you've improved the web performance. However now I'm deadly tired and calm as a corpse, so I managed to get almost to the end of the game before I started to feel the dark side. But I guess such experience is expected from this kind of games. At least this one is not 'Getting Over It".

Submitted

Thanks for coming back! I intended to be a challenge with a bit of a learning curve to figure out the levels, anyway thanks for playing!

Submitted

My Game is finished, can you escape the humans trying to eat you? Can you warn your fellow candy friends about the human and escape to safety?

Find out in the game: Life of a Gummy!

I liked the plot.

Candy faces are fun.

Unskippable dialogs are annoying  when I fail a level and have to restart, however for a short game I guess it's ok.

Green text which appears all over the level while you move has too little contrast and thus it's hard to read it, especially while playing on web where movement is jittery.

Submitted

thanks for the feedback, there will be skipable dialogs and smoother camera movement in the next update. I will also make the green text (which is your character speaking to you) move with the screen so you can read it better. Thanks for your suggestions! ;)

Here is my very first "game" ever attempting to make xD I also learned how much WebGL compresses....everything, compared to Windows build

The idea is good. I liked the variety provided by the fact that each house hosts its own mini-game.

The controls are not immediately obvious, but guessable, although not very responsive, probably because it's web.

For the level with 'shooting bats at apples' I really had to read the description below the game to understand what's going on.

Btw, you can attach win build to your game page if you feel that it's much better. And maybe unity export to web can also be improved, at least I can't remember such bad experiences when I did such export.

You did a really good job with your game! I really liked the momentum and the weight of the character you made on the map screen and in the orange house, it was a lot of fun.

Not sure it makes sense to post it here since the jam is ending soon, so  all the submissions for the jam will be listed.

I'd appreciate some feedback nevertheless, maybe for some some last moment fixes if something critical is discovered

Obviously it would be much more interactive if I had posted the link on discord, however the discord server is configured to beg for my phone number, and I don't feel comfortable enough to give such sensitive information.

here is my game.

hope you enjoy it. and beats some real good scores..

feedback is largely appreciated.

Pretty fun game! The sounds effects and jumping feel really satisfying. Expert mode is challenging, the game really messes with your depth perception. Nice job!

Submitted

thanks a lot for your feedback.

Not really my type of game, so I can't say much. Played till score 42 and didn't see anything except green cubes. I saw that there are pink cubes in expert mode. So... does beginner mode only has green cubes... forever? If no, adding some kind of 'promise of content' would be great, because just increasing score is not enough to keep my motivation.

Probably making the ball drop a shadow onto the cubes would help with height/depth perception, now it's really hard to understand where the ball is relative to the cubes. Maybe also adding 2 next cubes instead of 1 for beginner mode would also help the beginner.

I guess aesthetics can be improved easliy by adding some kind of skybox.

The music was too much for me, but luckily we can easily disable sound in browser tabs, so I guess it's not really an issue.

Submitted

really thanks for the detailed feedback. I just made most of the game in a short time and i don't know much about the 3d. I tried using blender but failed. It lagged too much.

I would really do the improvements for a post jam.

I actually have idea for a moving cube and a floating jellies environment, a character and candies to collect and get skins. It became too much scope for me and had to cut in min.

As a dev of the game itself i could not reach 42 thanks for playing it. :))

Hey all,

I made a tiny metroidvania for the game jam. Your goal is to collect enchanted candy and gain new powers to move around the map. Feedback is welcome and appreciated!

I really like your sprite work,  it was very well done and gave your game a very unique style. The one thing I was having issues with was your platforms were a bit slippery, which made precise movement difficult sometimes.  Overall a very good game and a lot of fun!

Thanks so much!

Try to survive and go to the highest difficulty level that you can  and get the highest combo. Maybe I'll implement the Gumball Machine God boss fight later if requested!

Could be a little slow on the browser, if that's the case there are other versions for desktop platforms available.

The link shows 404, and when I click on your name, it doesn't show 'creator of...' game link, and there's no [submitted] badge near your nick name, so... is your game [public]? Is it even there?

Fix it, try again, thanks for telling me

Now I see the page, but your web version isn't working, showing black screen.

And windows file is also not working since you need to deploy it with pck, not just exe.
