I think so, but this jam is about originality and learning! don't worry if your game has a do-it-yourself aesthetic, it's part of the fun! there's also plenty of people on discord forming teams to take care of that stuff

I loved it!! The art style and music are beautiful, and the writing made me laugh out loud several times :p I will say it's very difficult, or maybe I'm just bad at dating hahah

it's lots of fun, I loved the theme and the vibe of the game in general :)

I also like that I needed to use all of the moves to win in the later rounds, you avoided the pokemon problem where the best strategy is to just tackle over and over XD good job!

I'm in love with how the game looks, feels, and sounds. the dialogue is also hilarious XD

I really like all the abilities, they are super creative, and I love how you go back into old rooms in the map through hidden entrances and stuff :p also the atmosphere is great and it was very fun to play! I couldn't finish it because my game froze after I died while double-jumping, but what I played was very fun and cool!

Yeah, the game is more challenging than I thought it was hahah, I will definitely keep that in mind for the next game I make. You got much further than most people I showed it to, although I (the programmer and dev) got to around 1250 :P. I'm not sure how far the artist made it, but I think you beat him XD

The lava speeds up slowly as you rise and eventually a single mistake can end the game for you, I think if I were making the game again I would make it easier at the beginning and increase in difficulty more slowly. I also definitely had some problems programming the wall-jumping, and the way it works is a bit confusing

The going down a platform was intended for another version of the game where there were going to be more enemies that came in and the lava wouldn't speed up, so the mechanic made sense. You're right that it's not useful here, and descending faster is a great idea! might just do that today or sometime this week :p

thanks! the wall-jumping is definitely weird, with more time I would've tried to make it more intuitive to control. 1000 is definitely really challenging, I guess as the developer it's easy to think your game is easier than it actually is, having practiced and playtested a bunch :p. that being said it is possible, and my highest score in this version of the game is around 1250.

thanks for pointing out that bug, programming the wall-jumping was definitely a challenge for me. I think what's happening there is that the game isn't quite sure whether the character is wall-sliding or free-falling, and with more time I would've liked to fix that.

The wall-jumping definitely needed work!! It's my first time doing something like this so I wasn't able to come up with an elegant solution and left it as-is, but I agree that it's hard to deal with that force :P

kind of easy but very entertaining, I got to 2600 points before I had to stop myself :p and I loved the sound effects, very funny

fun and chill, reminds me a lot of the game Color Switch, great job!! I wish I was better at it XD

pretty easy, but cute with nice looking characters :)

fun with a good level of intensity!! reminds me of the games I played to kill time in class when the teacher wasn't looking hahah it drew me in and kept me entertained through all 8 levels :)

epic music and fun explosions make this a lot of fun to play! chaotic at first but not impossible once you get the hang of it, getting better feels very rewarding

cool artstyle and unique characters let you have lots of fun leading icky veggies to their death :p
