Played the game because saw it on vlad's channel. Previously I liked the preview, but constantly delayed checking the game for later (until completely forgot about it) since it doesn't have a web version (and probably originally it required setup ? I'm not sure).
The story itself is good. The quests are ok (probably I'd prefer something more puzzling, but I guess for a jam their difficulty is reasonable, especially if you want to get playthroughs instead of 'nah, too complicated, probably a bug, goodbuy' )
I like how you have put a pun on most attempts to talk to items.
Things to improve:
1. Greater default speed. I know that there's a setting for the speed, but unfortunately I had discovered it only after completing the game.
2. More readable font. Now the contrast is low and the font itself is very pixelated, even going for retro style doesn't mean that you have to punish player's eyes so hard. I'm not really sure if black outline really helps: on the one hand, it separates the text from the background, on the other hand it makes the characters look even more pixelated. These issues don't work good with auto-hiding text on timeout since it just disappears before you end reading the pixels.
3. Not sure if it can be helped with the game engine you use, but now alt-tab is a disaster, at least on my win7 pc. It doesn't send the game window to background or minimize it, it just leaves the dark gray overlay over your desktop, essentially preventing you from accessing anything else while the game is still opened.
Hi! Thanks for the feedback, you make a lot of good points. I'm going to add the speed change feature to the instructions on the store page so others don't end up missing it like you did.
The font was actually one of the things I really wanted to change, but I ran out of time. It was a preset that came with the UI, and instead of uploading a different font I would have had to manually go in and change all the individual sprites for every letter/punctuation mark, which wasn't feasible for me. After the jam I may go in and adjust it, but it's less of a priority.
After some research, it looks like the Alt-Tab thing is a known issue with the engine. I'll have to keep that in mind if I use this software again, thanks for bringing it up. I don't seem to be having problems on Windows 10, but that's something I definitely want to find a solution for in the future.
Man, this is amazingly long and polished for a gamejam! I love the puzzles and the little cutscenes are super cute. The music and pixel art are also incredible.
Thank you so much! I worked really hard on it. I'm fortunate there are a lot of great resources out there to help novice devs like me. I put the software I used in the game description, including the creator of the song I used. You should check him out!
Hey. I recorded a video about the Beginners Circle jam and included your game in it. I enjoyed it very much. I love point and click games. It felt like you worked really hard for this jam. If you want to cut your game out of the video, let me know. However, if you like the video, I make similar videos every day. I will be happy if you subscribe. Anyway, I enjoyed playing your game.
I'm glad you enjoyed my game! It's good to see people like you taking the time out of their day to play these games everyone's created, as a first-time game creator I really appreciate it. Good work with your series!
I'm glad you enjoyed my game! I'm afraid I can't take much credit for the heads-up system itself; I'm not much of a coder and the UI I used was a preset with the software I made the game on (Adventure Game Studio). But for my first game, I certainly learned a lot, I can't wait to start my next project!
I have discovered a bug which I apparently failed to notice before submitting- trying to pick up an item from the firewood storage causes the game to crash. It is not necessary to do this to complete the game, this is just a heads-up. I will have to go in to fix this issue later.

Nice puzzle game. The music was really good, and I liked the UI a lot. The perspective on the pixel art was really good.
I can't help but think this could have been avoided if I broke the window with the rock.

Thank you. I enjoyed playing your game. =D Make more games. They give different fantastic experiences for such people like me every day.
This is a really well-done adventure game. The inventory and UI looks looks really nice and is accessible and the puzzles felt fair. Nice work!
