Good Game :)

Developer

Thank you! :)

The game has a lot of character! I think it could use an effect or animation when you find the star so the transition to the next stage isn't so abrupt.

Developer

Thank you! Yep, some transitions would be great!

Nice artwork, easy to navigate. Cute pink dino with fries apron hahaha

Developer

Thanks so much! :D

Simple and fun game!  Did you draw all these things by hand? So much effort!

Food for thought: What if the location of the star changes or the number of bullets given are limited to make the game more challenging at each replay? It'll be fun to try out other difficulty levels too!

Look forward to try out more games from you!

Developer

Thank you very much! Good idea, that will improve the replay-ability factor :)

Awesome and fun game! Enjoyed it a lot! Love the art style! :) Good luck with the jam!!

Developer

Thank you so much! :D

Whoa this is fun!! That last 2 lvls I was like 'WHERE IS THAT STARRR'.

Pink dino boss is THE hardest part but I hid in the smoke ahahah.

Love it!

Developer

A big thank you for playing! So glad you had fun and enjoyed yourself ! :D

A psychedelic trip? Or some strange kind of mushrooms were consumed to create it? :)  Not an everyday entry for sure, and not for every taste, but it has its place as a unique one. Like a Monthy Python piece among traditional movies :)))

Developer

ahahah, i guess my creative ideas are all over the place xD Thanks for playing!

A fun game, original drawing! But still there is not enough polish: sharp sounds, transitions, movements ...

Good luck in development =)

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing and your feedback! For sure it can do with more polish, thanks for your well wishes! :)

I enjoyed the game! Cute art style.

Didnt know that I'm supposed to use my arrow keys to look for the star in the beginning so was spamming my clicks at the star and wondering why I died even when I already found the star. After figuring it out, the game was really easy to play. Tried the game a couple of times and realized there's a shield!!!! I AM NOW INVINCIBLE!! (but only for a few seconds before I was hit by the objects and had to rush to the star to avoid dying hahahaha).

Thank you for making this game! Looking forward to many more games from you.

Developer

Hehe, Thank you! Yay, you are the first one to mention the shield! Great job :D Doing a run for the star without killing anything is totally cool too xD - the quick and (kinda) easy way ;). Thanks for playing and commenting~

Cleared! Here are my thoughts: beautiful introduction! The art style is captivating, loose and neat. Properly use of sound effects and easy controls. Also, the music is atmospheric, well done!

Suggestions:

  • "Find the Star", "Touch the Star" or "Go Towards the Star". I think that the goal should be more clearly stated to the player. Although it's intuitive that the player has to get to something, the sentence could give a better hint!
  • I played a couple of times and realize that the stars are always in the same place in each room. So, how about putting the star in a random place (of course, far from the player's spawn position) ? So the replay value of the game can increase;

That's it, good job!

Developer

Thank you for playing and your kind words! Hmm, tbh, I haven't gone as far as thinking about the replay value, but agree that it is something worth exploring! and yes to clear instructions too  :). Thanks again for your constructive comments and feedback! :D

Hahaha love the art for this. It's super charming. I love the little cutscene in the beginning too. The hand made art and the animations are just so delightful. There's a lot of variety in the backgrounds as well! The boss design was also really cute. It does get a little hard to distinguish what I should be avoiding or not but finding a blinking star did have an interesting challenge to see if I could spot it amongst the rest of the images. Felt similar to a "Where's Waldo" in that sense because of how busy the backgrounds were. Super dynamic and cute game! Before I realised there was shooting, I accidentally did a pacifist run straight to the star. The boss must live!!

Developer

Thanks so much for your generous compliments! :) And hahah yes, yay, congrats!  It is indeed possible to get around the boss without killing him if you know how to doge really well and make full use of the shields xD well done, even if by accident - you may actually have some hidden talent and skills which you are not aware of ;)

Really neat. It was nice to have explanations considering how varied each of the levels were. It was a bit abrupt moving from room to room, which should be helped with some simple screen transisitons.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing and your kind comments! Ah, yes, I did intend to do the transition but was a bit worried that it would mess up the game because of the switching of camera views and ended up deciding not to do it and spent more time doing the artwork instead. But yes, agree that adding screen transitions would be good. Thank you!

PS. Do you happen to have any tips/good links on how to do sleek fading transitions ? Else I will look up for some tutorials when I have the time, no worries :)

This might be the greatest game ever made!! Greatest boss fight in all of gaming, more iconic than bowser from the super mario bros. I love you. You win the Jam in my book :D

Developer(+1)

Wow, thanks so much!!! The best feeling is when I get such positive feedback knowing people enjoyed my game :') . I will go play your game too! Thanks again, you really made my day :).

I loved the hand made graphics and animations, is hard and easy at the same time it could have potential good job!

I laughed so hard it literally got me in tears :D The fact I completed the game in 15 seconds was absurd and hilarious in a good way :) Rated!

Developer

Wow, 15 seconds :D So glad you had a good laugh and had a good time :) Thanks so much!

I found the best technique was to swing the mouse all over the place and hope for the best! The art is... interesting! I found the game a little too punishing.

During the boss level, I didn't even see the dinosaur until it was too late, and then I had to start over from the beginning.

Overall pretty chaotic!

Developer(+1)

hahah, thanks for sharing the best technique! Yep, the boss level was intended to be harder than the other levels, but I realized that players would be able to figure it out after trying it a few times and get past it quite quickly? (Or at least I hope so!) Thanks for playing my chaotic game :)

At first when I saw this game I didn't think it was going to be good but after trying it, though short it was quite good really nice gameplay and really fun the only thing I can only I can say isn't amazing is the art which in my opinion is a bit overwhelming but other than that its good! :)

Developer

Thanks for playing and thanks for your feedback :)
