Aw, Liono is too cute, really enjoyed it! :)

Looks cute, but, like what the other's said, can't see where the player is going, so would advise to change the camera settings :)

Relatively easy-to-play game, first time seeing a surfing zombie hahah, creative!

The the Crême Glacée truck drops ice cream to increase the health of the player :)

I was pleasantly surprised by this game! The feedback and AI system built into it makes it very different and refreshing from other games in this jam (or most jams, actually). To be honest, I was going to give up because of the difficulty but eventually managed to win 1 round after the difficulty got reduced gradually when I was about to quit. Definitely enjoyable and worth playing for me!

Sorry, I tried this and it does not work :(

I would say the best thing about this game is the UI - so much effort put into it! :) Definitely an interesting theme with suitable accompanying sound effects. The physics of the ice cream truck (btw, am glad you added a Turbo feature - cuz it was a bit slow in the beginning) can be improved as it easily falls over - don't worry I have the same problem with my 3D runner game and till now still can't get it right. I see this is ver1.0 and ??? completion date - am looking forward to an updated, upgraded version as it has a lot of potential. Great job!

Nice, I agree with the comments posted here - e.g., good choice of music to grab the player's attention, would be nice if it were to be extended into the gameplay when the game starts. Also hard to catch some of the ice creams as the game progresses, would be good to have power-ups and scoring system :)

Creative idea! The transitions were good too, but one feedback is that I found it hard to control and at one point my chocolate fell off the screen xD

Oops sorry about he audio, thanks for your feedback! :)

cute and simple game! keep up the good work :)

Oh I see, I was still trying to eat as much ice cream as possible xD. Will try again!

I had fun! Rated :)

Thank you JH10, I submitted my game JustKeepRunning (draw rider is not mine :)) that I have made before because it was stated that it is allowed for the jam and I thought fit the theme :) Not flouting any rules here

No :( . Couldn't run fast enough, game ended soon quickly - even when I prepared and faced the other direction when the last sentence was spoken...

Thanks for playing! This is my first time making such a game and didn't expect it to crash given its simplicity too. I was trying to figure out the problem but couldn't and sent a ticket to Game Maker for assistance. Think I will take down the HTML version till I figure out how to fix it... Thanks again for your feedback!

Thanks for playing! This is my first time making such a game and didn't expect it to crash given the simplicity of the code. Yeah, I was trying ways to fix it but couldn't and sent a ticket to Game Maker for assistance cuz I didn't get any error at all but when it builds the HTML version, just goes black after the second level :(. Think I will take down the HTML version till I figure out how to fix it... Thanks again for your feedback!

aw man, the ending  :( I wana say more but am not gonna give away any spoilers so if anyone is reading this, just play it, haha! Great job, its a good game, I like it! :)

So cute! My high score is 14 (Sorry, forgot to take a screenshot :P)

Ooh, nice, sounds exciting! All the best with development!

A big thank you for playing! So glad you had fun and enjoyed yourself ! :D

Thank you so much! :D

Thank you very much! Good idea, that will improve the replay-ability factor :)

Thanks so much! :D

Thank you! Yep, some transitions would be great!

Thank you! :)

ah, either of those reasons could be it then xD!

ahahah, i guess my creative ideas are all over the place xD Thanks for playing!

Thanks for playing and your feedback! For sure it can do with more polish, thanks for your well wishes! :)

Ooh, this felt like a chill game at first because of the ambience and audio but became harder and harder ahaha. Somewhere along the way, for some reason i felt like a grim reaper looking for souls while avoiding the traps the humans have set up (laser beams, falling platforms, etc.), haha! . I didn't get to the boss cuz I'm a noob, but now I am wondering if its a mob of angry humans xD.

Anyways, other than that, I also experienced the same concerns as the others here on the controls so I shall not repeat the same feedback. Cool game, keep up the good work! :)

I like how you infuse the story into the game and I can definitely see the effort to put all the neon signs around town - so 5 stars for theme ;). Here is a detailed feedback for you as you'd asked for:

Perhaps to reduce the need to restart the level when the player get stuck, is to add an "undo" or "rewind" button? You can limit this to like 3 or something so it doesn't get abused :P This is because early in the beginning, I already fell below before I activated the platform that closed above me and didn't know how to "undo" the time travel and so I had to quit and start over because I just got stuck at the bottom.

Even though I agree that this game mechanic makes for very interesting gameplay, but perhaps need to give more leeway for such instances ;) Keep up the good work!

Very nice! The intro was really cool and immersive. The whole 3D effect really works well and feels futuristic because of the music and the hologram and digital because of the pixels ;).

While typing this, I was thinking, why not make this an endless game with random autospawning of enemies instead? As this will be more in line with your tagline of "noone escapes the nanon"? Sorry if this is random or not related, just my 2 cents ;) Thanks for the game!

Nice demo! I like the neon cloak girl and floaty jumps. Agree the the other comments here on adding knockback and adding audio :) Good work!

Making this in 48hours is unbelievable ! I also could not succeed at this game as I will suddenly die while holding the Neon. Kudos on making this 3D game in game maker for the jam!

I like that there you decided to have the player deflect the bullets. It requires some dexterity and speed but is different from the usual click to shoot :) I was very tempted to get a snack/drink from the vending machines but they didn't seem to be interactive xD.

Nice, this already looks like a complete game, even with option to buy things - haven't seen any game so far in this jam to have that ;) ! I like how you thought to combine tower defense and RPG side scrolling platformer type, cool !

Cute game and animations! :)

Wow. You must have a brilliant mind to have come up with this - and just for this jam too! A lot of thought have gone into this as it's like creating a chess game with your very own sprites and rules in such a short time! Full of respect and admiration, man! After reading some of the previous comments and your replies, here's my thoughts, that I think may be able to help you :) :

There is definitely a learning curve for this game which is inevitable, and I would say it does take time to learn so I can see your challenge trying to convey this to the player - I myself am not v familiar the the rules of chess tbh so you can take it that I have 0 background knowledge and making reference to the rules of chess may not be 100% effective.  As such, I'd think this game can be quite advanced and complex for the average casual gamer/public (assuming this is your target audience).

Whilst I think the detailed text explanation is helpful and important... may I suggest that instead of removing it or shortening it *too* much, instead, add some animations/gifs to show the sequence of the turn-based, what action should be done per turn, and how they (both the player and enemy) move/attack just beside where you are explaining the in the text can help with conveying this? Like one section/para can have the corresponding animation/gif beside it . This will really help with visualization and understanding.

Also, perhaps start with an easy level with maybe just one (or two different types if you feel is important for the player to know) and with prompts on what to do next (like a model answer). And break it down explicitly by steps within each turn. In this way, the player can quickly get the hang of it and be able to continue the next levels themselves independently without losing interest before that stage. You can also add this to the "How to Play" as part of the tutorial / something the player can go back to refer if needed.

Hope the above helps and all the best for your game! I like it,  its looking good! :D

Wow, impressed that this was made in GM2! Visuals definitely fit the theme and the how the shiny reflective material reflects the neon! I also like how the number of spikes on the enemy indicates its health level - very clever. Thumbs up!

However, I was inside the maze for quite a long time and also realized that the neon-tiled walls change color and also have letters on them as if they were keys on a keyboard. Hmm... I probably missed some crucial info or hint :/
