Really polished game, very smooth and slick, with great music! - Interesting take on colour change bullet hell games, mixing it up with platformer elements!

I found it really difficult to play with keys even on casual (as I'm an old git!), as each function is generally needed with high reliability/timing accuracy...

...but guessing it would play beautifully with a gamepad, or perhaps if the whole game speed (character/projectiles, etc) could be cranked down a touch to cater for more sedate players...  ;)

Good luck!

I really like the concept, it's an interesting take on bullet hells being able to essentially "tank" infinite hits if you're the right colour. The difficulty really hit me hard, I've played a fair few precision platformers, but this felt extremely unforgiving, hahaha. I can see it being a good fit for a certain type of player though, but it was definitely too difficult for me. Graphics were nice and everything felt like it fit, and the music was high energy and felt good for the type of game.

Overall a really good job!

Nice realization from a genre I liked in my youth.

Very cool game! I loved the menu song, really!!! I felt that there should be a jump control, a simple jump makes things a little harder. Not being able to move in midair during a walljump or dash made the game super difficult. I missed a checkpoint in some very difficult parts. But I really enjoyed the game, very challenging, which made it fun. Congratulations!

Thanks for the feedback! I agree that the controls might have been too restrictive. It's something you overlook when you repeatedly play your own game during development XD

seems like a nice game and all but I couldn't handle the control scheme: having to press into the direction of the wall you want to jump away from is just unnecessary cruel XD

but in all seriousness great idea, very hard and very polished! Great entry!

Thanks for the feedback! The wall jump was meant to be hard (requires timing) but based on feedback, I guess it might have been too unfair.

nice music, nice art, nicee effect the wall jump feel a little weird and the size of the player sprites and the bullets makes it a little inconsistent (what I mean is that the bullets would kind of hit me or no I was sure because it feels my character was to small for it so somethimes I  though the bullet would miss but it didnt, and then I need the feel to jump to dash the bullets) it was enjoyable but I think small adjustments on the sprites and position would make it even more enjoyable and bring a lot of satisfaction to the interaction of my player with the other elements, very nice game noneteless

Love the way you use the assets! most people just use the way that they're delivery, but you modified them, beautiful <3 also good parallax effect.

Love the soundtrack as well!

Thank you for the awesome art! Glad you enjoyed it :)

Oh man, I really liked this one but there were a couple of small things that really hindered my enjoyment. The walljumping felt really awkward and clunky, as did jumping off of those bounce pads. Bouncing back so much when taking damage was kind of annoying. I also really wish I could have used mouse controls, since I could just not find a control configuration that felt comfortable - I feel like this game would be excellent with controller support.

I hope this doesn’t come off as overly negative, because I want to be clear - I thought this was awesome! I loved the soundtrack, it fit really well with the hectic gameplay. The platforming felt good, like the dash and whatnot - only the walljumping felt off. I just wanted to give some hopefully helpful feedback, because I do hope to see more of this in the future. I’d definitely play through it. Great work!

That was pretty hard, but i like it… it’s just like “Bullet Hells meet gravity”

Wow, I didn't expect you to beat my game. Thanks for playing and I hope you enjoyed it :)

Warning: big wall of text

You were this close to getting 5 stars for fun, but something about the movement just didn't feel right for me. The walljumps were tricky to make (did you implement coyote time?), I think jumping off of the clouds could've been higher by holding down the jump button and not pressing it, I don't really get why you have "up" and "down" keys in the settings. You could've also done a simple tutorial, maybe even without text and just using images. At first I was confused until I realized that you're not hurt by bullets of the same colour as your aura. And spikes killing you instantly, as well as the spike pole killing you (which I didn't know at first) kinda sapped the fun away for me.

The music was great, although a bit loud, but unfortunately there's no rating for that. I feel like visuals could've done with some more details on the walls, the tiles looked a bit bland. You could've also done more with the theme, I think. The only real neon objects were the barriers and bullets, and as I said, some more decorations could be a nice touch.

Thank you for the detailed feedback! I've taken note and learned from what you said.
Controls were an issue with my testers as well; especially since the game requires precision to dodge the bullets. I didn't use coyote time or time based jumping, which is probably why it didn't feel right. Unfortunately, due to the lack of time, I couldn't polish everything.
When someone tested my game, they wanted to use WASD instead of the Arrow keys and since Up/Down is used to navigate the menu and dialogue choices, it was on the Settings page.

The game looks great, is fun to play, and has a great soundtrack that goes really well with the game. I also thought that it was great you added some secrets with lore and a really well done menu, with remappable keys and save feature, fantastic! My main criticism is around difficulty, there was some really difficult sections in there, such as the area where the enemy fires both pink and blue bullets followed by another tricky platforming section with spikes. After finishing one tricky area I was hoping to get a checkpoint before tackling the next tricky area so perhaps adding more would help? Great job overall!

Developer(+1)

Thank you for the feedback! Regarding the difficulty, I think I know what area you were struggling on and I agree, it probably would've been better to add another checkpoint. At the time, I thought it was good enough since there were infinite attempts. It's tricky to balance the challenge of a bullet hell game while keeping it accessible for casual players.

The movement is quite as tight as this kind of game would require, but the idea is super cool and the level design is quite engaging, I would love to play more if the controls felt better.
Also I know this is highly personal opinion but I don't think chugging metal guitars fit well to the game's visual. You could still do some high energy soundtrack, maybe using a synth's arpeggiator instead or having rhytmic stabs/comping from an electric keyboard like a Clavinet.
I did have fun and would love to see what else you can come up with!

Developer(+1)

Thank you for the feedback! In regards to the music, I had a musician but they didn't respond back towards the deadline so last minute, I looked for royalty free music that sounded good enough to fit with the game.

Some very nice visuals, and an insanely good soundtrack! Gameplay is nice, although the fixed stun you get when taking damage is very off putting for a movement based game, especially when you are expected to get hit a lot. Immediate deaths from spikes and the beams makes it very challenging! Well done! Some improved movement would make this a great future game!
