Lovely fully-realised package. Great art style and colours, complete puzzles, voice acting. You nailed it!

This was really good. Loved it. The atmosphere and the voice acting were on point.

VERY slick and polished for a jam game! Everything about this game feels *crisp* - the pixel art, the voice acting, the writing, even the story and the puzzles - they are straightforward, but that makes them fast-paced and catchy. I would totally play a full game in this style!

Thanks for playing and the nice feedback. I just played your entry and it was amazing. Ton of rooms and content. Enjoyed the puzzles.

I’m debating doing a longer commercial game. Will see what happens.

So good!!

Fun game, loved the dry humour.

very scummy! ;)

top notch production level across the board. art, voice acting, progression, story, all excellent. perfectly nailed the classic point and click experience. in that vein, there was a tiny amount of pixel hunting like figuring out the set of drawers were all individual, and not just one item, and the hot zone for the battery box in aux is a little unintuitive hitting somewhere in the empty space -above- the box. otherwise everything made sense and the pieces came together very naturally.

sound and ambience were perfect. i'm a sucker for that classic sarcastic dry humor. both the writing and the delivery were perfect.

the only real scuff is that the inventory was a little too subtly hidden. the little red tab was barely noticeable at first.

wonderful game all around!

Wow, nice game! Love the atmosphere and the visuals. What software did you do the artwork with?

Developer

Thanks for playing! The art was all done in Aseprite (characters and animation) or ClipStudio (mainly for backgrounds).

Great game! Great atmosphere and visuals, and a very very clever use of sound for cutscenes. Great job.

This was so polished for the time allowed that it's mind blowing. Super well written, stylized amazingly, and great SFX / music. I loved the commentary on the music, it not only helped to characterize the robot but was also hilarious. And the music was great! Overall really fun experience and I would happily play a longer version of this.

If you'd told me this was a forgotten Sierra classic from 1994, I would absolutely have believed you--the literal only thing that would have tipped me off is the length. The environments and character art just perfectly capture those classic sci-fi adventures like Beneath a Steel Sky (including the robot sidekick!) and Travis's voice acting has such warmth and character to it. It plays very smoothly too, not to mention that crisply implemented pixel art that's so difficult to do in Unity. I can't believe you did everything except the voice acting--you must be a rare polymath!

For things I would have liked to see, really all I can think of is that it would have been fun to have a more distinctive-looking monster, but that's really like being served a perfectly-cooked souffle and asking why it doesn't have a cherry on top.

that was super fun! I would definitely play a full game of this. this voice acting was great and really made the experience that much more enjoyable!

Thanks for playing and the comments. Travis nailed the voice and boosted the quality as voice often does. Thanks for the comment that you’d play a full game of this. Thinking about it.

This is fantastic!! I really loved everything about this game, I was left wanting more Travis Walker adventures. Well done for such a polished game.

There are a lot of things I really liked in this game. First in line is the background art. Essential yet gorgeous! I have to study it out and learn from your style.

The atmosphere is wonderful, very reminiscent of scifi thrillers. I was constantly there, anticipating the jump-moment when I would have faced the beast.

That’s probably where the “AdvJam” limits kicked in, since the beast itself would have deserved a scarier animation, but still, the climax was good.

I liked how you managed to circumvent visual struggles with audio (like during fadeout of complex scenes, where sounds kicked in to tell the story, or for EVA sequence where microjets sound was filling the lack of a specific animation).

Music was interesting and engaging, the voiceover was a real boon and sound effects was at times VERY good.

I would pay for a longer game with the same qualities and visual impact. Really well done!

What a great review. Thanks for all the detailed thoughts. Yes, the creature was animated around 7am Friday AM the last day of the Jam and I’d been up all night. Barely made it. Thinking about making a longer adventure game now. Will see what happens.

Please, mate, do it! :) You have what it takes (no doubt, given your track record) and I’d love to see more from you!

Ooh pretty!

From the first scene on, your game took me by the hand and let me play a well written story.

A little bit of blood, a little bit of robots, some stars, some fire, and a creature.
AND good music, nice visuals and a great voice actor.
Perfect, thank you for this game!

Wow, thanks for the kind words. That’s quote on the back of the box material ;)

Wow, it's absolutely unbelievable how much work you put in this game. When I played it I forget that it's a game built in jam! This is game already ready to be published! The best game of the jam so far! Awesome job!

Developer

Thank you so much for the glowing words ;) And for playing the game.

Love the game! Reminded me of why I used to play every adventure game coming out. May try some recent ones now that my appetite has been whetted.

Developer

That’s great to hear. There’s a lot of games out there but a lot now seem to be more modern settings and less adventure/fantasy. I definitely favor being taken on an adventure away from normal life. Thanks for playing my game.

Beautiful little adventure game, evocative of a time when games used to spark something inside us. Congrats!!

Nice one! I liked the atmosphere you created, good writing, nice graphics and sounddesign with excellent voiceacting. Story is is pretty straight forward, as are the puzzles. I would have wished for a bit more challenge to make it last longer.^^

Developer

Thanks for playing it! Being my first adv game I was just buried with work to execute it all. I wish it was a little more puzzle-y and more to do but next time, or when there’s not the time pressure of the jam. I barely completed it as it is ;) Always leave em’ wanting more right?
