Many thanks

happy to hear, and thank you for taking the time checking it out.

It took me approximate 40hours worktime from Brainstorming to finished project. So really doable for a weeklong or longer Game Jam. Blueprints can help you to prototype very fast (even though I prefer writing everything in c++). Not sure if it is the VSC implementation but Live Coding sucks so hard, can’t recommend using it. But you can compile while the Editor is running (beware which compile parameter you use, I wasted way too much time because I forgot the Editor parameter). Build it often, and wait for GC cycles while trying it out. Had to refactor my code in another projects for weeks due to Access Violations. Due to the fact Unreal Engine is the only Game Engine I know, I can’t compare it, if something is easier or harder here.

If you are no artist, there are so many free Asset (permanently free, so usable) so you don’t have to worry.

I think this is like a very rough overview.

The foundation is very solid, some more upgrades and it is a very nice Clicker game. Good Job

Having to type each Password twice, really challenged my understanding of the game in the beginning. I know this is part of the challenge but somehow I missed a hint for it. Maybe I played not long enough but I missed some deviation in the request. All got more ore less the same Password, with minor changes.

It is possible, for the Mouse Cursor to “leave” the Game, therefor no more Camara Control. makes it sometimes pretty fidgety to find the next spot in the Map. Very important messages during the Game, but the Restoration itself could use some diversity.

But dam(n) this Engineer Beaver is everything I want. Really love him.

Nice idea. The placing of more Ammunition, or store more in inventory can make it more accessible. For being the first game you made, very impressive.

Only reason could be the Shield settings on brave. What I find curious, it is the only game where I encounter this kind of behavior. Sometimes other Games are a little laggy on brave (run perfectly smooth on Edge). So I would assume Brave and embedded Games are not without an issue.

Sorry, you can’t reproduce the issue. Those are the most annoying bugs.

The rotating Platform is a joy for everyone who doesn’t love gravity :)

Could you a little more specific how such a hint should look like? I normally give the player the possibility to find out on their own, but still it shouldn’t lead to frustration.

yeah Music and SFX aren’t really my strong suit. I have approximate 100 GB stored on my drive, waiting to be implemented when the Jam is over. The “no paid Assets”, hit me pretty hard in this category, similar to you.

If you want to know where all off them are, I made a Gameplay Video for the people who can’t download the game. Link to the Video

I’m happy I could help, and yes the Post Mortem gave me some very interesting insight, so many thanks for taking the time to write it. Also reading your comment, gives me the impression you are very eager and on on a good track to become a great developer. Left you a follow.

I learned setting the correct priorities is one of the most important aspect of a Game Jam, so well done.

Managing the rats were pretty stressful, but in a fun way, and I don’t know what the Red Rat did, but damn did it break its machine a lot. Really like the game. Sometimes the Rat didn’t accepted the order I gave them. Seems I missed the Hitbox by a fraction of a pixel.

Nice Game. When the Monster grows, it feels way more powerful. A nice addition would be a possibility to regain some health, and - I know pretty hard to implement - a destructive environment. Really love the health circle.

I have the same issue on brave. With Edge it loads

I spent waaaaay too much time collecting poop… and I’m only a little ashamed admitting it.

Sometimes the tiny people got stuck. When I only had one, I had to restart the game, cause it didn’t move at all. It would be a nice idea to disable the auto fertilize upgrade. It slowed my progress cause I bought it a little too soon, and the advantage of Carrots didn’t justify the cost of precious poop.

Great implementation of the theme. Haven’t thought about it. Great concept deflecting those nasty Asteroids. The Earth has a great Style.

Thank you for testing it out, and the kind words.

Sorry, you couldn’t rescue the Quatsch Quartett 😔

I read the Post Mortem you posted. Sorry for you had this experience. I whish you the best for the next Jam.

What I really liked where the Splash Screens at the beginning. Was the only game I played so far having this. Only improvement, make them skippable, so people don’t have to watch them every time. And maybe when pressing the esc not only leaving to desktop but back to Main Menu. I fell from the planet, and was pretty annoying to restart complete.

Sadly I couldn’t do much, due to camara and walking issues. The story sounds pretty interesting. A little polishing will likely result in a good game.

The game really nailed the theme. No notes. For the mechanics I second another comment mentioned a more investigative approach instead of a collection 5 guesses.

Doom got nothing on you. The Music was a blast (meaning blasting my eardrums, jk was very fitting) ~~Nothing to add to this Prototype~~

One thing I encountered while giving it another go. With the shotgun I provoked multiple times, an early win. When I shot in the desert World the one up top and right below I always won with 2 kills.

Love to play as a fog, didn’t really understood why the chicken exploded? Is it criticism on factory farming? Will never know.

decreasing the value when the eggs were older was nicely implemented. Really gave it an incentive to be quick

Nice idle game. Was a little confused about the rising cost to remove a unit/building.

When I had more then 4 digit of a resource, the number had a line break which looked strange. For only 9 Places the 5 minutes felt a little too long.

Never thought fighting for pearls in a bathtub makes so much fun. The cruising and fighting feels very good. And having “a timer” where you have to watch out for, very great. The ending was satisfying. Great job

The effect when the light nearly goes out is great. Real cranked the intensity up. Multiple time I got stuck on an open door, walked some other way, tried again and could go through, was pretty annoying.

Interesting story. Now I’m prepared for the next feast. The concept to rotate the camera gave the gameplay a funky twist.

Sometimes a lot of food spawned atop of each other. I don’t want to complain, if it was near a goal, I mean eZ Points, but not sure if intended

Many thanks for testing it out.

I had some ideas in this direction. Having a more Metroivenia feel to the game. But due to the time constraint, I rather scrapped this idea.

After the jam I intend to further optimize the game (and add some cut ideas)

I was wondering what the essence was for. Must have missed that. Left you a follow to get the newest Updates. Good luck with further development. looking forward to the results

Happy you found the Quatsch Quartett, to be honest this review had me in tears, laughing. Many thanks for playing it, and reviewing it in such a detailed manner.

I already have some ideas to optimise the gameplay after the game jam. With Kacki on my side it can’t go wrong.

Great Game, had a blast playing it. Having WASD As movement input it would be even better. The Power Ups gave me really a feeling to be stronger then before. A nice idea to improve the replayability would be different ultimates and different Weapons but this is some nitpicking.

“Dead Enemies” still deal damage until the body disappeared. Felt very strange. And the attack delay doesn’t feel natural. Still had fun killing those slimes and finding loot

Very interesting concept. The Gravity wasn’t really my friend and I got yeeted into nirvana by some very small collisions. If this is intended. Than I really need to git good.

Very interesting concept. For me the jump mechanic made the platforming very hard, at least the delay between pressing the button and actually jumping. With a little polish this could be a very fun game (sorry if it sounds harsh, overall I had fun and it look great.)

Again I like the way you think. When you mentioned Quantum physics, I had to up the ante. Good Catch.

I’m not sure if I missed something but some times the platform sank without a reason (or atleast I didn’t saw one. Still funny game.

If you stop one step ahead, and only go on a atomic level a nice Chemistry Game could be possible instead of a biology one would be possible. I like the way you think 😀.

left you a follow and waiting for an update.

nice cozy game with some very quirky characters. Well written.

The size of the game is astonishing. Finishing that much level in 10 days. Well done

Thank you! I had a blast making it, glad you liked the video.

Fun little game. Having a Petri Dish as Tiny World, I would say definitely winner for the Theme.

Sometimes the spawn rate for the food is a little too high. More then once I ate nearly a whole Evolution Phase without moving much. But this is really some nitpicking.

This game is pretty funny and I’m very bad at Mini Golf.

Always hard to decide, end the level or increase the carnage?
