Yeah, it’s buggy. I refactored in the last 12 hours and that was a major mistake.
Thanks for playing!
First and foremost, congrats to everyone for making amazing things! We at ContrastUS.Online are quite proud of the work that people put in to bring fantastic things into the world. Well done!
Now, for the ContrastUS.Online Results!
Our employees completed 611 work orders and spent 3172 minutes working at their terminals - that’s almost 53 hours working!
Seventeen employees chose the Dark faction while 27 employees chose the Light faction. One employee chose not to join a faction. That means 45 employees showed up to work.
Dark faction came in first place with 3138 points, while Light faction came in second with 3089 points.
Below are the employee rankings at the end of the jam. You may choose to continue to work orders, in the case that you wish to further your faction.
Thanks again for for all the hard work!
Some feedback from watching another streamer play this (in the case that you wish to take this idea any further):
The player did not understand the radial menus dropping from the sky. They didn’t stop running around and never had time to read/understand what the radial menus did. I don’t know how to fix this outside of tutorializing the menus or modifying the size/colliders.
I couldn’t find a fail condition - maybe I’m just pro gamer :kekw:.
I see what was being interpreted as radials, but they weren’t at all menu-ey. Regardless, i enjoyed popping shields radiating around a planet. Your humor in your writing is great, but I’d rather spend my time playing a game over reading the entire wall of text on the page. Had you incorporated that text throughout the course of the game, I would have probably been able to enjoy it more.
Back for Ludum Dare 50 (Delay the Inevitable) I made a somewhat similar game, except you placed defensive satellites around the planet. Obviously I liked your idea.
Well done!
I didn’t build things with tightened security. There is a real possibility that dropping this in a larger community would ultimately end up costing me a significant amount of money. I’d prefer the jam version to stay within this community. If there is real interest in pushing this game forward, I could pursue that idea and make some sweeping security changes.
I was incredibly invested in whatever game was being showcased in the title screen. I just had so many EULAs to read and sign.
When do we get to play the sword and lava game? :)
(Well done - this was quite funny)
Oh, one piece of actual feedback - I would have preferred this to have been a web export - it’s just easier for jams. Cheers!
I got deded and I liked it.
This was fun. I love survivors-style games and this has the core mechanics solidifed.
When I started to need to use my radial, I didn’t realize I needed to open the radial and I forgot how. A tutorialized reminder about how to open the radial would have been helpful.
Well done, oik. I approve.
Got totally lost on level 4.
Loved the atmosphere, even though I’m not exactly a horror game enjoyer. I was kinda expecting controller to work on menus, but there’s no active ui element indicator, so I ended up playing keyboard and mouse. I also had issues actually selecting items within the radial menu - not sure if I was just misclicking or what, but I would end up clicking 3-4 times before it would take.
Solid entry - terrifying atmosphere - great movement. Well done here.
I got wrecked on my first run and thoroughly enjoyed it.
However, I have a mousewheel that unlocks and is weighted and can spin…forever. So, once I realized that I could use that to my advantage, I was able to demolish the enemies while being spun away by my mousewheel.
This is absolutely impressive. Great music, great sounds, great visuals. The radial menus do get in the way of the gameplay a bit. The lack of a tutorial (I know, it’s a gamejam) made me question what I was trying to accomplish - this is my bad because I forgot to read the jam page before playing.
Well done, team. pgorley approves.
