I've just agreed with another comment who has said the same. Definitely need a bit more money at the beginning so you can get used to the mechanics - and less punishing for hitting obstacles since you're also punished on time

A game about killing old aged pensioners with walking sticks who are approaching you for help in the middle of the cold dark night. Love it!

Yeah I agree, another £10 would help to get used to the hitboxes and obstacles on the first few streets. Also a little less, maybe only -£2 for hitting an obstacle - because you are punished both in time and money when you hit something.

Made it to 5! Does this mean I can finish work in real life too?

Discord link is showing invalid for me.

You’re driving the wrong way! And if anything goes wrong, you’re not going to make it on time! But thanks for playing and rating, finally got 20 ratings!

Nice, finally a game where the NPC's are also playing GTA

Quite addictive, and frustrating - I know how people feel playing my game now lol

Really nice polish to this, challenging and fun at the same time. Think it's one of the only games I've rated 5 for enjoyment!

When people tell me my game is hard and unforgiving... I'll send them over to this instead!

Insane levels of polish here, nice! Even in the tutorial  icouldn't figure out how to stop the bomb... I put everything I could into the enemy and it still blew up!

Newcaster is funny, I like that. I wish the items were labelled on the right side - I had no idea what I was dragging over! I loved the simplicity - no animation and hand drawn.

I read the tutorial (but I can't full screen so it's very difficult to read!) but cookies came out only once, and I had 3 guys waiting for cookies - couldn't get any more to come!  Or were they supposed to share? lol

Nice level design, had fun playing this!

Thanks for the comment! Yes balancing for sure is an issue - victim of becoming too good at my own game unfortunately. But glad you stuck with it trying to get through - it's a lot shorter than people realise actually, I've had a few people give up with 2 streets left!

Haha amazing, the voice acting is top notch! Taxi games are the new meta !

<--- and I'm just a dog

I'm glad I read the comments so I didn't waste time with the garage door haha

Could not beat nessy, was not smashed enough lol  The intro at the beginning was actually class, had fun playing this!

<---- We agree.

haha scared you would get tortured playing it forever?

Thanks for the comment, appreciate it!

(1 edit)

hahah that’s exactly what I wanted to hear! Yes there is an end! But the idea of having to play it over and over to master the corners / obstacles was the plan!

Please get to the end and submit a score, it’s only a few more streets after the double car street! Thanks for the comment, and I’ll give your game a go asap!

There’s a YouTube video on the main page which might give you some tips!

Thanks, I have to give Ash Devs credit for most of the physics. I've added it to my submission now so I don't take full credit. But I've been playing with their arcade physics for a few months and managed to get it tweaked just right, then by coincidence I'm making a taxi themed game, so I already had a good basis to work off!

Will be a little bug patch coming in the next hour, will hopefully make the driving / pick up / drop off feel a bit more intuitive. The hit boxes were a little bit off!

Thanks for your comment, it was meant to be challenging, the whole course only takes 1min30s if you manage to avoid obstacles - but I've had a lot of feedback about it being difficult. I think it's the curse of being a solo jammer and getting too good at my own game!

I just spotted that I have 48hrs for bug fixes! So I will get this fixed

just wait until you submit a high score with JRK

This is peak game jam - the audio is class. I couldn't figure out how to keep the guy on the laptop happy though, no matter what I gave him he was a tosser, very realistic!

I submitted your score for you... I hope it's close to what you got!

Wow you are a sadistic person haha - this was very challenging, my brain is suffering from severe lag because I barely slept last night submitting to the jam! So I'll use that as an excuse for my atrocious math skills. But overall this was a solid game, well polished too

OH NOOO!! That was one that didn't come up in my frantic 4am bug hunting mission! Sorry about that, I'll put a warning on the page!

Watching the Dunkey stream hoping you guys get a play. You're one of the only ones I rated 5/5 on all ratings. I'm surprised you only have 18 ratings. Was expecting close to 50 for this!

That was real fun. 5/5. My wrist hurts.

Holy Pizza Tower this looks amazing, and is animated so well.  Some of the fights went on a little too long (that goddam fridge!)  but overall it was fun watching them fight. -$70k and still felt fun!

Kinda insane actually! Well done

Thanks for the comment - yeah the spin/attack in the beginning is clunky and slow for sure. It only starts getting overpowered when you're around lvl20+ and you start to build up stacks. But if I had more time I would have balanced the attack animation and maybe had a different one depending on speeds. Basically I'm just speeding up the attack animation as you get stacks, so the base animation is super slow because of that.

It really does make you feel like arachnoid.

As everyone else has been saying - the visuals are real nice! It sets the tone for game and immediately I thought "Ah crap, it's going to be a horror game" once I'd walked through the first few halls haha, so it had me feeling dread.

Fun game! The mechanics are solid, and the puzzles were great. Well done on great little game!

Very impressive submission. I had a lot of fun playing this. One of my favourite of the jam
