Fun game with a lot of replayability. It took me a few tries to get the hang of it, and I thought it was impossible until I realized I could double jump from the menu.

The only issue I ran into is when I dashed through a door one time it immediately killed me because I spawned in touching the left side of the screen. Great idea to make the power ups something that you chase, I definitely ran into a few walls because I was chasing the power ups like a mad man lol.

Nice work!

Developer(+1)

LOL! I'm glad you enjoyed it! Oh man, can't be chasing them like that lol

Well done!

Thank you!

I love the concept, the art, and the music was very much fitting. It would've been better if the camera speed would match with the player when the player goes just the right amount of distance away from the left side so that the player can still see what's up ahead.

But the fact that each door looks different based on the world behind it kind of defeats the purpose of the theme of wondering "Which world is behind it?", yet a great touch to detail in general.

Aside from that, the game's just great! ^ ^

Developer

Thank you for your feedback! It was designed to not know what's beyond the doors, and even then, you  (the player) wouldn't know what's in those realms since it would be different. I do see your point of it defeating the purpose those and it could've been designed a little different to help with that!

Really loved dashing through the doors. It feels epic paired with the sound effects and music. I also really liked the different environments. Sorry that my feedback is the same as others (e.g. hard to see obstacles, controls could be smoother but it's still fine for me). Couldn't find anything lacking besides that (which is a good thing of course). Overall a really fun game.

Developer

Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it! And it's not a problem lol!

The dashing-through-doors mechanic is creative! I like how unique the doors are when dashing through them!
Good job!

Developer

thank you !

Developer

Wooohoo! Thanks!

I think the penalty of touching the left stage is a bit to much.  if it is the design like that then i think you should make the map shorter so that the player does not reach the far right of the screen and still waiting for the door to load.

Other than that crashing through a door is oddly satisfying

Thanks for your feedback!

its a fun game only issue i have is some maps have very dark background so its almost impossible to see obstacle! other than that good job :D

Developer

Thank you for your feedback! That has been a common issue, hopefully we can fix it after the voting process!

yw, ty for trying out my game aswell :)

Developer

Could use some polish but good work!

really cute game, loved all of the power ups/power downs! like a lot of other commenters, i struggled to see some of the obstacles - this is a pretty easy fix though, so not to worry :) another thing that i found slightly annoying was when restarting, you have to wait a couple seconds before you can get to the first door, which is a bit of an awkward stop in momentum. also, smashing through the doors is super satisfying. great work!

Developer

Thanks for your feedback! :)

Developer

I appreciate the feedback! I do agree with you in that the transition can be faster like in other endless Runner games! We should be able to fix that after the voting period!

I liked the music and the background art a lot. Really fun and high energy platformer, which fit the feeling of the Dash mechanic nicely.

I agree with some other commenters about obstacles being a little too hard to see, or they would spawn way to close for you to react when you got through the door. The other thing I would say is when you get a power up (or power down) it takes over the whole screen and it makes it even harder to see the obstacles.

Overall though, great submission. Good work. Good luck with the jam.

Developer

Thank you for you feedback! Yeah, I've been seeing that too and can be fix after the voting process!

Great game and great back ground art. The revelation when you break through a door was amazing! Really enjoyed the dash mechanic!

Thank you ! :)

Interesting entry. Kind of hard to see some obstacles coming. Controls could be improved though wonky controllers are fun to play to because you got too figure them out.

Developer(+1)

Thank you for your review and rating! yes, you are right. but with this game would be too perfect and we need to give other participants a chance :D

Developer

Thank you! We felt it was interesting take to the theme! Could you explain more about your experience with the controls?

Submitted(+1)

Heyyoo,

Looks like the jump height is not consistent all the time. For example when close to a wall it jumps less. The gravity feels a but monish as well. Hope this helps :) .

Developer

Oh yes! I know what's happening lol. The collider for the door is huge, definitely my fault since I set it up. I can be fixed after the voting period!

Submitted(+1)

The controls don't feel nice. Also some of the obstacles are very hard to see

Developer(+1)

Thank you for your honest opinion. We appreciate it!

Developer(+1)

Thank you for your feedback! Can you tell us more about your experience with the controls?

The gameplay here is good, you’ve got simple mechanics but they are fun to play with and feel pretty well-tuned. I loved having different environments to play through and swapping them around kept things feeling fresh.

I agree with another commenter that some of the obstacles were hard to distinguish from the background.

The dashing through doors looks, sounds, and feels great.

It wasn’t clear to me why I should or shouldn’t pick one door over another, and since the higher up ones were harder to reach, I tended to just go through the bottom one.

I don’t feel like I got enough powerups to make them a major part of the experience. Also, because I wasn’t getting many powerups, I didn’t have extra jumps, so I wasn’t even able to reach the highest doors.

The idea of a “power-down” is interesting, but the few I saw were pretty easy to avoid. Perhaps they should have a clearer visual distinction though, like a different color trail, so I can be sure that I WANT to avoid one.

One little thing I noticed (not sure if intentional or not) is that the player position isn’t clamped to the screen on the right side, so you can actually get ahead of the camera.

The player can stick in the jump animation against the wall above the door.

Hitting restart should almost immediately restart the run imo. With an endless runner like this I want to just keep playing, I don’t want to have to make any unnecessary inputs or wait even a few seconds.

Overall I really liked this game, addictive “one more run” gameplay. Great job!

Thank you for such a detailed and comprehensive review! We're always happy to receive such ratings, they help us become better. Yes, the game has some shortcomings. There wasn't enough time to fix it. We're glad you liked it!  ;))

Developer(+1)

Very detailed review....I love it! The player's position on the right side was intention for the goal is to stay within the camera bounds. I can understand why you would pick the bottom ones over the top ones. With your regular jump height, you can make it to any of the doors. It would depend on the where the obstacles are and if you wanted to risk getting a lower score or not since each door randomize to have different scoring!

Also, depending on which realm you'd want to go to, you'd choose that door, if you're able to get to it! I am glad you enjoyed playing through the different sceneries for it was fun for us to run through them too!

The game idea is very cool and the music is also cool and what I like the most is that the levels are randomly generated like the worlds aren't all the same.

Thank you!

What a fitting banger music! I like the difficulty balance and different atmospheres of worlds. Green and yellow are my favorites.

Developer

Thank you! glad you liked it!

Niceuuu! I'm glad you like it! It was very fun to make!

Submitted(+1)

Nice game, the environments are very cool, but in some of them the obstacles are kind of hard to see. I don’t know if I’m missed something but there were obstacles that were inavoidable.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for your feedback! You must be talking about when you're the Space and Nebula realm. The difficulty gets harder as time goes by so you might've ended up in one of those situations! I'll have one of the programmers look into that after the jam!

Movement feels good, nice idea!

Thank you so much!

I liked the games idea, cool little endless parkour. Audio fits well. The only problem is I didn't understand how can I pass the L shapes more easily.

Developer

Thank you!
