You are a Gato and you must Crash

Submitted(+1)

I feel a bit dumb with how often I tried to type everything in as "steering [0]" before I figured out I was doing it wrong, but this game was super fun once I got the hang of it. Definitely one of my favorites from the jam! It felt chaotic as I tried to fix all of the mistakes that the cat made, quickly typing in a way to fix whatever they just did. This is more of a small thing, but I love how the cat meows, too. Good work!

Love the chaos combined with a typing game. The visuals are really incredible too! Fantastic work!

The perfect mix between cuteness and chaos, great take on the theme, pretty unique! I would love to see this more polished and evolved!

So silly and NOT how I get the cat to the vet.  I hide him in a pillowcase, then into his carrier, then plug my ears until we get there, then he hides in the corner...even when the top comes off, then hides more as he's examined, pobrecito. So next level requests: getting cat hiding cat out of house into car, getting out of car into vet, holding angry cat still?
Thank you for the fun and good job!

This is so cute and creative, I finally managed to beat it by just cranking the gear all the way up and hitting filling in "steering 0" and hitting enter whenever the kitty would touch the wheel.

This is SO cute and chaotic I'm literally IN LOVE!!! :0

Really cute presentation and SO MUCH CHAOS!

The cat caused so much chaos they crashed the car and the game! Very clever idea, the art was fun. I found the text input to be very overwhelming but I suppose that's the point ^^

very fun and cute game XD nice visuals too. I immediately figured out that you need to type "[command] [argument]" but my non programmer friends did not get that right away. I also thought info and help were the same.

As a piece of feedback I would just question whether windows, media, wipers, and some other commands were useful to have, cause maybe they just added a layer of perceived complexity but they do nothing to get you to your destination? or maybe I got it all wrong. but Good job overall!

If you can find the time, would you please check out our game as well?

Our twist of the theme is that a critic tries to play your unfinished game, and you fight from inside the computer to make him like it. Hope you'll like it!

Extremely funny and well presented game. 😹

I didn't realize that the "info" command was different to "help", so I was just guessing commands for the couple of tries. After seeing the command list I understood how to play and delivered gato successfully!

I think some screenshake & metal noises when damaging the car would increase the stress levels a bit.

great job on this! once you get the hang of it it's really fun to play

also the art and graphics were nice :)

i loved it.

none of the text commands actually seemed to do anything for me? Am I missing something?

edit: ok no I think they work Im just very bad at speed typing

Submitted(+1)

I think the tutorial for the game could be clearer but other than that, 11/10.

I dont think i can find a single thing in this game which wouldnt be charming and great, good job! it's stupidly fun to fight against the cat for control, and the game looks great,  sounds great, and it's simply amazing!

Awesome idea and art!  I wish there was some feedback for incorrect commands like "close windows" is not a correct command, did you mean windows %value from 0.0 to 1.0% like in real console apps
Car integrity damage could also use some more feedback

The concept and art are so charming!

I did struggle quite a lot with getting a hang of all the commands - partially I feel that adds to the vibe of the game,  but it did result in a very steep learning curve. I feel like starting off with only steering and then gradually adding new elements as the player gets closer to the goal for the player to interact with and the cat to mess around with would help flatten that learning curve? But, again, the chaos does contribute to the feel of the game!

Still, the art is really good though and the concept is very creative, it's very fun to watch the cat jump around and absolutely yet unintentionally annihilate a car!

Love this! It has a great level of chaos that had me frantically typing and accidentally misspelling commands as I tried figuring out what each little component did and their audio/visual tells were connected to. A cautionary tale of the horrors of driving your cat to the vet.

Gato makes me want to get in a car and turn steering to -1, gear to 3 and window 0. Anywho really fun game, gato is truly pure chaos incarnate.
