Very creative to add your own voices and noises.   Unique in a way and really thinking of the player.   All round really excellent

Brilliant idea and execution - went back immediately to play a second time.  Loved the sound effect aspect - played with a  group we were hooting with laughter making them.  So much in this game - what an achievement to get it done so well in a jam and to have such interesting fun ideas as well as charm and personality incorporated too.

Wow thank you! Such an awesome comment to wake up to, and I love picturing the surprise when it asked to record a sound :D

Awesome game! I had a lot of fun messing around with the pitch, which always led to unexpected and hilarious sounds :D I felt very engaged "helping", aka destroying, the town, and the % destruction at the end tied it together very nicely. Altogether, a fantastic idea with a likewise execution

Developer

Thank you so much! I'm really glad you enjoyed it

Good idea with excellent execution. To be honest, I'm not much of a fan of recording my own sounds, but even I had some fun with a zombie noise. Everything felt smooth and well-considered. I appreciate that you took the time to write out all of that dialogue with its own strange dialect.

Secret endings are always fun too. :)

Amazing! I'm really glad - that was something I worried about while developing (after all, who likes hearing their own voice?) so that makes me really happy.

And that's awesome you found it!

This was an extremely creative idea executed to near perfection. I was actually thinking about trying to make my own sound effects for this jam but ran out of time. Thank you for giving me that chance. I can only imagine this hasn't been played more because there's no in-browser build. If there was, I bet this would be one of the most popular entries in the jam. Thanks for the game!

And maybe I shouldn't be a foley artist after all...

Developer(+1)

Wow that makes me so happy!

I only realised with 8 hours to go that the support in Unity for accessing Microphones in WebGL is very lacking so I decided to cut it from the plans, but I wish I could've managed it!

P.S Foley artist isn't a term I knew, so nice little education there too!

Definitely one of my favorites. Recording new SFX was fun, and the game has a lot of personality

Developer

Thank you so much :)

wow i havent play a game that requires sounds before! and its pretty polished! great job!

Developer

Thank you! It definitely took some time to get it working smoothly with Unity, so there's plenty of deterrent aha

I was really blown away by this one.  Amazing polish, amazing dialogue, amazing game.

Developer

Wow that means so much, thank you

Wow, that was insanely well-polished and creative for a game jam game! Breaking all the boxes was a pure dopamine hit, haha. Never in a million years would I have thought of letting the player record their own sounds. Well done! (this game gives me Tunic vibes for some reason, btw)

Developer

I can see what you mean, in a way!

Thank you, I definitely leant into it once I setup that mechanic - I couldn't resist putting all the boxes together!

Very impressive.

And unique. Haven't seen a game where you can record your own sfx before. Aesthetic is top notch, and the sound design that you have in the game is wonderful.

For improvements, theres a weird visual bug where you look like you are walking behind an object from below (when only walking behind an object from the top should create that effect as its isometric.

Cool game, Great work!

Thank you, I really appreciate it, and the feedback is really helpful!  I tried to setup a system for the sprite layering but I'll need to work on that in the future.

Surprisingly enough this made me engage a lot with sound, which I've not done before, so I'm really glad it comes through.

This is great! I adore the concept, it allows for a really funny and personal experience. It was also just generally really fun to go around collecting abilities. Every time I got a new ability I was excited to record the sound for it! With a tiny bit more polish this could be even better. I found a couple of minor issues, such as being able to mine things from underneath them, but they did not negatively affect gameplay at all. Great job overall!

Developer

That's so awesome to hear! Couldn't be happier with that, honestly.

And appreciate the feedback, I admit I found the mining bug an hour before release, but I refused to acknowledge it... too nervous! I'm sure there's a number of others as well

Loved the particle effects and the satisfaction of destroying everything!! Very polished and I loved the dialogue of the characters, animations, shadows, and everything else was very well done! congrats on this submission!

Developer

Thank you so much! I'm really glad you liked the particle effects as well. Some of them I was spending a while focusing on well into the night and I definitely had the thought "should I be spending the time on this" once or twice haha

This is definitely near the top of games when it comes to creativity. Recording your own SFX was a surprisingly hilarious and amazing feature added to the game. Really brilliant. Very impressed you managed to put this together in 48 hours.

Fantastic work.

Developer

Thank you so much! That really means a lot

So much destruction.. so much fun. Great job team!

Developer

So.. much...

Thank you!!

My favourite game so far, this is completly awesome, the amount of laughter it took from me...

I wasn't expecting something so polished and fun, but it got me!

Developer

Just made my day, thank you!

I spend far too long trying to lean into the comedic so I'm really glad it paid off

The game feel is incredible. You quickly learn powerful spells and moves too. It's super funny to record your sound effects, but it was also surprising how good household objects can sound like fire or rocks being crushed! If you're recordings are silly or trying to sound just right, its great when they kick in during the game.

I didn't encounter any glitches at all, which is so impressive for a game jam.

I completed the game, with almost 90 percent destruction lol. I think i tried to use a spell on a large statue with glowing eyes at the end, and i should have used the space button. i'm sure i missed something there.

in general i loved the atmosphere, gameplay and music, and a favourite moment was after the music changed when i activated a spell in late game!! So cool!

Best game in the Jam so far.

Developer

Thank you so much! Reading about people playing and enjoying the game makes the stress of the weekend so worth it.

And you're absolutely right, pressing space is the key to secret of the Statue...

Submitted(+1)

I swear I didn't mean to do this lol

Really cool concept for changing the audio, got me thinking about other things the player could change - letting the player draw new sprites would definitely be entertaining!

Gameplay was fun, with each new ability increasing the size of the world in nice, manageable chunks, and destroying the world feeling very satisfying. The world itself felt very cohesive and characterful, with a very distinct style to dialogue (the window where I was told that it was "not for my eyes" was a particular favourite!)

Developer(+1)

Great minds! That's my favourite as well hehe.

And me too! If I had time I'd probably continue to add stuff like that. Maybe even customising animations..

Thank you for the kind words, it really means a lot.

It was a fun walk around! When i got to the fire jet sound effect i put myself going "pewpew pew" and pitched it up and that got me a giggle the rest of the way through.
Also there was a guy in a vase who was surprise that i could "see them"? if that was an easter egg, welp, i found it.

Developer

I love that :D

Thank you for playing! That was in fact the statue talking, which can give you a new quest later on...

Developer

Thank you to anyone who checks out my game, and I really hope you enjoy it!

I'd love to hear of any clever ideas you came up with when making your sound effects as well, so be sure to post them!

P.S I've added some tips into the description in case any help is needed
