Very good! Clever move with the time sword. :)
Art, visuals, and mechanics are solid. Exploring was the most fun for me.
Ominous. I appreciate when games make the creative choice of no HUD. Turns them more into art. This portrayed dread and inevitability well. The visual and sound choices really complemented each other. I particularly enjoy when games use silence in places where silence doesn't belong - a "something's wrong" tool. Well done!
Captures "fun" very well! Perfect choice of song, art style is interesting, and the feeling of speed is captured. It's not very complicated or challenging, likely because it's a jam game, but this game would feel awesome in an expanded version. As Sam55555 said, reminds me of Crazy Taxi. I had a blast with that game as a kid. Flying into a plane surprised me. Can't say I remember ever seeing that in a game. I did have some frame stuttering in the introduction for some reason, but smooth as butter after that. Spent some time on subsequent runs driving on the terrain and trying to get up the mountain. Well done!
Very eye and ear-catching. The sound is good and I like the grid movement, without feeling completely grid-like - I appreciate the fairly natural way the tether drapes on each tile. The tether is a unique mechanic that could really force players to think differently, but I feel it wasn't maximized.. I liked the puzzles, which reminded me of Pokemon gym puzzles, but I wish they made more use of the tether as a required mechanic. In any case, nice game! You've got a high rating from me.
Playing this game made me realize that I touch type with my right hand but not my left...
Anyway, nice game! Everything seems well made across the board. I think I got a failure somehow when I was supposed to win or maybe I misunderstood that you're supposed to die anyway, but I did get the nice win music. I had fun. Good job!
Great game. I really like the idea of power ups getting stronger and evolving over time. Artwork feels like Brave Little Toaster. Your boss looks to be a roomba, which is hilarious. Audio unfortunately didn't work on my end. Could be a me problem, but I tried two browsers and tested audio elsewhere. I wish I could have heard your music and sound effects, but I still really liked the game. Thanks!
Edit: Looking at your submission time, you're probably aware of the audio issues (assuming it's not just me). It's rough to run into trouble that close to the deadline, but you still did great in my opinion.
Fun game. I liked the challenge. I really overthought one of the middle levels. The puzzles could stand on their own, but the added art, audio, and visuals combine into a nice package. I am wondering if the music was a little creepy on purpose, given that the previous lives are dying to let one of the next ones succeed. Really well executed for your first game jam and finished game!
The gameplay is excellent. Even if it's a variation on Portal, I've never seen this mechanic used in the same way. I enjoyed figuring out each trick to get through to the next part of the game. I did also experience an audio distortion and then stoppage like some other players, but I assumed that was part of the game's message about frustration.
Ok, you got me. I was attracted by the goofy title and the game behind it did not disappoint. I definitely expected a lot of climbing games with the theme of this jam, but I did not expect this. I appreciate the retro aesthetic of the game and there's a lot of charm in the way you told the story through the older-style phone. I've never played a control scheme of WASD + QEZC, so kudos on that as well. It didn't take too long to adapt and I think the controls were a net positive to the game. All in all, I love the uniqueness and I appreciate your humor!
The art style and gameplay are extremely unique, and I like that - not to mention the singing title screen! I'm a big fan of nautical themes and I think you really sold the "old pirate captain" feel with the visuals and audio. The controls felt awkward at times, but I think that's the point: tweezers + building in a bottle + rocking ship. Very well done. And of course I listened to the entire song. :)
Good idea with excellent execution. To be honest, I'm not much of a fan of recording my own sounds, but even I had some fun with a zombie noise. Everything felt smooth and well-considered. I appreciate that you took the time to write out all of that dialogue with its own strange dialect.
Secret endings are always fun too. :)
