Whoops I think I rushed this comment out because I had to take the dog out. I wanted to mention that the tutorial room was a great approach. I think it worked well for the type of game you've built. And while the game controlled well and the shots were satisfying, the only thing I could ask for is more mayhem :)
Nice one buddy. Those textures were wild :) Was quite a psychedelic experience.
Btw I finally made a 3D game, an FPS - please give it a spin if you have a chance. It's play in browser and a sort of Vampire Survivors / Serious Sam mashup.
Cheers!
Fun game, great tutorial in the beginning to get you started. The levels were trippy to look at and fun to navigate. Well done!
Thank you so much for playing.
I was worried about the visuals. I got a few friends to playtest and got some feedback. I'm not much of an artist so I always tend to go emissive lol.
But I want to actually look into creating visuals for sensitive viewers so I can learn how to ensure safe gameplay. Thank you for the feedback :)
Thanks so much for playing. I'm glad you enjoyed it.
If it is overkill it's cos I was stressing. I'm South Africa and we have rolling blackouts, up to 11 hours a day without power so in between blackouts I grinded like mad to try get finished. I am happy with what I managed to get out but if i had time then the Drones would also be moving around instead of being stationary hahaha.
Enjoyed playing this game - had a great mood to it, felt very futuristic and the controls were spot on - loved the lobby where you got to learn about the game and objective. Could've done with a few more dopplers to ruin my day though. Well done!
Was fun to play your game!
Liked the laser mechanic you implemented.
As feedback it's quite hard to distinguish the red orbs you need to collect from the laser-resource pickup. And the black reflecting stairs make it hard to see that it's there and where it leads to.
Great job on creating and finishing a game!
Thanks a lot for playing, I'm really glad you enjoyed it.
I think maybe changing what the Lazer-resource looks like could help, or maybe Double the size of the Orbs. I think increasing the size could be a good option, will also make it easier to find.
Thank you for the feedback, I really appreciate it. :)
Good game! Cool graphics, mechanics, nice animations and sounds. The only thing I did not like was the search for orbs, they are very difficult to find.
Nice game, a lot of work to use Unreal Engine to make something like this.
Looks good and feels balanced, cheers.
Very thrilling game, I also liked the audiovisual experience. Good job!
Will try again to find the last two orbs. They are my nemesis now.
Solid game! Enjoyed exploring the level and the mechanics. Also I think it's a good idea to go a bit crazy with the graphics so at least that's dedication and has a nice psychedelic vibe to it :) Could not find all orbs yet, but I will play again.
I really enjoyed this! A nicely exectuted concept very well put together including the pregame warnings. These little things are important! Overall your level design was well kept to the theme and thoughtfully layed out. One thing i would work on is a random placed enemies/orbs once i played a bit it seemed to be a pattern in where they would be but this is just replayability wise. The animations for the weapon and teleporting are very very cool and would love to see how you put this together!
Nice game! The firing mode is way preferable to the stealth mode, in a way. Nicely done with level design, I can see the huge amount of work! Nice controls, nice mechanics
Overall, a well done game, nice job!
Nice to see games made with Unreal engine for this jam! I really appreciated the neat tutorial instructions as part of the gameplay. Also, sound effects are appropriate and everything runs and plays quite smoothly on my machine.
I think the enemy AI could be improved - I managed to kill the enemy by shooting him on the back without him realising that he was being shot - and I would have preferred to find more use for the stealth mode. But overall it's a very good start! Well done!
