To anyone that gave me one of the 28 - 1 star ratings for a criteria for this game, I would appreciate it if you would drill down as to why.

Please reply within this comment with that feedback.
This was always meant to be a whimsical game, and I am more interested in the feedback than the rating, so it would be greatly appreciated, so I can provide better games in the future.

To anyone that gave me one of the 22 - 5 star ratings for a criteria for the game, you are truly gods and you have my everlasting respect :)

Thank you.

Noice! I found the easter egg too (and the drinks of course, most importantly). I loved all of Chris's facial expressions, great job!

Nice concept of 2D/3D, I found the "easter egg" :-D but not what the cube was actually looking for...

This is a really nice game!

I liked this game a lot.

The music is very adequate to the theme. The character is very funny and the SFX are hilarious.

Also the concept of transforming the whole scene from 3D into 2D is interesting (although I would prefer using the 3D View always...).

The 3D Environment is very well set, and it was fun to explore it.

Ps: One thing I would add to the game, (to make it even more challenging) would be some enemies (and the ability to fire / shoot a weapon to defend yourself against them).

Congratulations, it is a very nice game, especially for a one man team.

Thanks, you know I may just add a shooting mechanic, in the funniest and most inappropriate way I can think of.

Challenge accepted. :)

That will be fun!

If you want someone to playtest that future version, you got it.

What a funny cube

Submitted(+1)

Funny looking cube and good concept. Music works and I like the story. The controls and shift to 2D need a little polish, but I had fun with what you've shared. Thanks!

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

Aah I've been wondering what people meant when they said polish, maybe that is mainly allowing WASD to work together etc.

I had put specific animations on each of the direction keys rather than just a "walk" animation, so I decided at the last minute not to normalise the movement (so you could for example move in W and A at the same time) and not to rotate the player in the direction of movement, but it seems people didn't like that.

Anyway, I had fun making it :)

I love the concept of going into different dimensions to find clues. Also, found the easter egg. I couldn't move the man to look at any angle other than directly at me. Could be a great game with some polishing. I'm looking forward!

Also very funny. I want to cause distress to the red cube

Submitted(+1)

Good job with your game. If I'm being honest, that red square dude gives me the creeps. Ha ha.

Keep up the good work!

Funny writing! I found the easter egg as well xD. But this needs a lottt of polishing. Still, good job! :D

Great sense of cheeky humor

Submitted(+1)

I loved the cheeky writing :D Nice game and I did not expect the little easter egg xD I suggest you add diagonal movement. The 2D world can be reworked to look better too!

Thanks, yeh I agree I can do more to improve it.

I ... didn t get it xD - Well made tho - the mechanics do work - I did run around... I found the easter egg xD I reset my browser  Yes - xD I like the Voice Sounds  - did you make them your self?

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

I made about half the sounds and grabbed a few fillers from the asset store.
Yeh there is a winning condition also, its a pretty simple game but I was just having fun, cheers.
I had the most fun learning how to animate the cube.

Hehe funny game i managed to find the easter egg ^^

Submitted(+1)

I found the drinks quite quickly and the powerup and managed to get to the easter egg. I wasnt really sure what to do in the 2D mode so i mostly explored in 3D. when i saw "Yeah Nah" it made me realise this game was probably made by another Aussie lol.

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

It absolutely was mate, lucky I didn't say Heaps Good or you would know what state also :)

Submitted(+1)

Hmmm, not sure what to make of this one. I liked the character and humor. I found the "easter egg" easier than finding the drinks, which is kinda weird. It's an interesting idea, but I think the 2D needs more work. It was difficult to navigate around in.

Developer

The same controls work in both 2D and 3D (WASD or arrows and jump), its just that your viewing angle is different (which makes some things easier to find).

To be honest I was just having some fun making it and the 2D mode is meant to be different to the normal 2D platformer style.

Cool ideas in here, and a very cute vibe. I'll admit I didn't quite make it to the end, but I enjoyed it.

Developer

Yeh I needed to have more people test it, to determine if it was too hard or too easy.
But its a jam, its all good :)

Submitted(+1)

For sure! It was still a cool submission. Congrats!

Submitted(+1)

Very interesting mechanic. Took me awhile to figure out I could move in all directions in 2d as well.
Great game. Well done

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

Hmm yeh I was wondering if I should make that clearer, thanks.
It was a fine balance between having people discover what they can do in 2D vs them getting annoyed by not knowing.

Submitted(+1)

I like the whimsical feel of the game. Chris is a cool character! But I wasn't sure what to do in 2D mode! Good job with the submission though 😎

Developer (2 edits)

You just need to find his drinks.
Some things are easier to see from a different perspective ;)
