Nice puzzle game! It's a bit hard but I enjoyed it!

Developer

Hi there.
Thanks for trying my little game and for this awesome feedback.

The hardness here comes from not having a lot of time to think of how you can solve the level.
Limited time also makes us panic and rush things, and that is where the fun comes from in this game.
More challenging gameplay is more rewarding when we solve it.

Nice puzzle game with challenging level design. This being made in pure JS is what even made it impressive. Well done!

Developer

Hi there.
Thanks for trying my little game and for this awesome feedback.

Yeah, it was a challenge making this game in pure JS.
Of, course,  It's not perfect but I did my best with it.

Great little game! It's rare that you see a puzzle game where you have to complete the puzzle in such a short amount of time. It was an awesome challenge! I think it's super cool that you've build everything in pure Javascript. You've managed to pull it off splendidly! In your opinion, what was the biggest challenge when you were building this game?

Anyway, well done, I enjoyed playing! I hope you've had a great jam :D

Hi there.
Thanks for trying my little game and for this awesome feedback.
I'm glad you liked the idea and the challenges.

One of the biggest challenges I faced was to make sure that the collision system works as intended as it had so many bugs.

Also, if I have to change one thing about how I developed this game, that would be how I update (draw) the objects because I do draw everything in each frame. The better method is to only draw when there is a change for example. Or even better to only draw the object that changed when there is a change.

This is adorable! And it's actually fun to play! I really like that you are helping the monster.

The mechanics are a bit faster than I can manage, but it was really fun. This game concept could have legs.

Hi there.
Thanks for trying my little game.

I'm glad you liked the idea. The game requires fast movement, indeed.

Hi there.
Thanks for trying my little game.
I wish I added more levels and had more time to polish and fine-tune the levels.

Nice game! Like the minimalist graphics... Its a great time killer. I've submitted a maze game as well. Tbh I liked this one's idea better!

Developer

Hi there.
Thanks for trying my little game.

I'm glad you liked the graphics. The plan was to have even more assets and animations but there was no time left for those.

Great entry. I like that I don’t have to be super precise when I move the arrows and the boxes, so the game is quite forgiving despite having such a limited amount of time to move boxes around.

Hi there.
Thanks for trying my little game.

I'm glad that you noticed that. It took me a good amount of time to make sure that the arrows/switches work great and are not buggy. But still, there is a couple of bugs that I noticed after the Submission phase was over.

Wow, that’s really hard!

Hi there.
Thanks for trying my little game.

IT IS HARD. I agree. Having a time limit in a puzzle game makes it extremely challenging.

I couldn’t understand how to play, add a tutorial of some sort.

Hi there.
Thanks for trying my little game.

You can read the how-to-play screen in the game. In addition, I provided more info about that in the description on the itch.io page underneath the HTML web player.

How to play:

  • Drag boxes and arrows around using the mouse.
  • You have limited time to move things around.
  • Boxes block the monster from escaping.  Move them away.
  • Arrows allow the monster to change direction. Use them wisely.
  • Step on all Pressure Pads (if exists) to unlock the door.

Level three seems to have a small bug. I can’t drag the box, and some terrain won’t show the texture. It’s a great game.

Developer

Hi there.
Thanks for trying my little game.

You can move things around only before the timer goes out of time. The idea here is to have a fast-paced puzzle game.
under the impression of "Act now, Think later".

Trackpad wasn't fast enough for me to beat level 3! Definitely needs a mouse for maximum manoeuvrability.

Developer

Hi there.
Thanks for trying my little game.

Yes, unfortunately, playing with a Trackpad isn't a good strategy as it is a fast-paced type of game. it needs precision and fast movement.
It's super good for touch screens tho. Even better than a mouse.

Cool concept and implementation, feels like it would fit right in as a classic flash game. Requires fast thinking and even faster mouse movement to beat.

Developer

Hi there.
Thanks for trying my little game.

I hope you liked the challenge. Indeed it needs fast thinking, precision, and fast movement to beat.
By doing that, we broke the normal role model of usual puzzle games where you have unlimited time to think and solve the challenge. While in this game, we tried to break that and change the "usual".
Remember, great game ideas are creative, different, and unique.
