Its a such beautiful game. I don't think I would call this one much of a horror game but the environment was stunning! Your game is second and starts at 06:03

So, does this game have an alternate ending when you go up the different path on the second village, or is it just one?

No, just the one. The separate path was purely visual and has a nasty break in the collision that can get you stuck. Sorry if it got you! I typically don't go back and touch jam games after I release them. If you saw the main ending, you've seen everything you needed to see!

THIS ONE MADE ME FEEL LIKE I WAS TRIPPING ON LSD THANKS FOR THE FOREVER NIGHTMARES OF TERROR AND GNOMES! GAME STARTS AT 1:45:17

Okay, this one has me stumped. Almost like how He Keeps Me Here had me stumped.

Regardless of where I'm currently at mentally with the story of this game, it pulled the same punches as Two Lines, and to some extent, He Keeps Me Here. What I mean by that is how it appears to be nothing special at first until you reach the end of the game. It is at that point that the key ingredient to understanding the game, the main message, is delivered, although cryptic as heck.

Now, as for my interpretation of the game, I have one that I find to be pretty solid. In my recording of this game, I mention near the end how the somber dialogue of the father to his daughter almost sounded like the father was heading off to war. This theory only became a solid one whenever I took a second closer look at the painting that the daughter made following my recording. If you look closely, it appears as if the father is wearing a Great War uniform or something else of that matter, and has his ACH, Army Combat Helmet, resting under his right arm.

With this, it makes sense how the father has a sad yet comforting tone with his daughter. He knows he probably won't make it back, yet he doesn't want his daughter to know that. He leaves a coin with his daughter as a sort of memento before his parting. Something to remember him by just in case he doesn't return.

Now, with the coin and strange day/night cycle, I can see that as symbolical of life and death. On one side of the coin, you have the possibility of the father returning: Day. On the other side, you have the unfortunate possibility that the father has perished and will not be returning: Night, with the night side of the coin being shown at the end of the game in what seems to be a warped side profile of the people roaming the small village. At least I think.

And finally, the painting with the father looking out and the daughter looking in gives me the feeling that the father failed the coin toss. I get this vibe because the daughter had made this painting with her father in it via her imagination as the father said. You play as the father in this painting, which I see as a way of saying that he is not in the real world anymore. He is now just a part of his daughter's imagination. He travels in this painting to where he can look over his daughter, almost like an angel. This part of my theory seems to be a massive stretch, but it's what I got from it, haha.

Anyway, another really good game that was also done in a week. Relax, bruh. You can't be putting out games like this in one week. Nah, I'm kidding. But regardless of how much time you put into the game, it was pulled off very well. Great job!

Really interesting game. I had no idea what to expect.  it felt very cinematic. Great music and sound. . creepy stabby dudes. I liked it a lot :)

Hello, its NaughtyNelly again playing another one of your amazing games, as usual the visuals are simply stunning and the tension and fear levels build up nicely! I am not sure if i understood this all but,the message is amazing and powerful.

The dramatic shifts between the light and dark keep you on your toes, although it is "a walk along the path" style game it is another fantastic experience and a joy to play.

Hi! I didn't find any means to message you directly, so im gonna ask this here. I was wondering if you could send me the sheet music from this game. The soundtrack is so amazing, and i want to learn it on piano. If you can, please send it to me. My e-mail adress is mr.high@citromail.hu

Oh, thank you so much! I'm glad you enjoyed the music. I will happily do that, but it will take some time. My second child was born the day you sent this, so the last week has been crazy. Would you record your playing? I would love to watch it!

First of all let me just say: Congratulations on the birth of your second child! :)

It would be awesome to make a video about it as soon as i learn it. (but it will take time since i am not a professional piano player)

Thank you!

And totally understandable. I'm sending you some sheet music right now :)

Игра понравилась, даже чутка испугала :)

This game was very interesting.  The story was very in-depth and the voice over was great!  It is a quick game, but pay attention to what is happening and why it's happening if you want to figure out the story.  I'm looking forward to his next releases!

Very cool game. Even with your warning I still walked too far off the path and got stuck :)

But I tried again and made it to the end. Very interesting game. Not sure I fully understand what was going on but I enjoyed it anyways.

I played this a couple of weeks ago but I found it to be a pretty great game and found a bug :)

Thanks for posting, Sammy!

Wow. This was simple looking until the flash and then all hell breaks loose. Even a story to it when you get to the end. Trying to catch up on games atm and you seem to made a ton in the past few months. This one is great... :)

Thanks for playing, Kev! By the way, I need to send you the updated version of NEMESES. I finally got around to adding some gamma control. There's a major update in the works, but if you'd like to play the same one you already played but so you can actually see what you're doing, let me know!

Yes of course I'd love to play it again. Never really had the time last time which I apologize for. Gonna be busy again come the 2nd half of June but hopefully not to much so lets get into Nemeses. Just finished playing Two Lines and will tell you what I thought the story was in that games thread. It's not what you had it down as but i'll be honest as always and look an idiot. lol  ... :)

really cool game and with some creepy models. don't really understand it much but liked it a lot cant wait for more to come form you!!

Good to see your name again, it's been a while! Thanks for playing, Dragan!

your welcome and ya good to see yours as well!!

32:38. Amazing atmospheric game yet again by good old Matt Reeves.

Thanks for playing! Glad you liked it :)

A great little surreal horror adventure through a magical forest village. Until someone decides to turn out the lights & send the village crazy.

Matt, I love your mind, & your story telling. Surrealism at it's finest. Can't wait for nemesis!

At first I was what is going on here? I think I understood the message at the end. Again amazing work. Looking forward to nemesis. Your game is the first in the video!

Thanks for playing another of my games! I appreciate it greatly.

your welcome,  looking forward to nemesis!!

The NEMESES alpha demo is up now if you want to play it!

Awesome will definitely be checking that out !

Thanks for letting me know more about your work, I appreciate the backstory much more now :)

Great work! Hope to see more from you in the future!

Of course, thank you for posting!

Awesome work as usual Mr. Reeves! I managed to find a spot to get stuck in the graphics which is totally fine! Not sure if I drew the right conclusions or  not but I thoroughly enjoyed Look For Me!

Thanks Mr. Red! I always watch patiently for your playthroughs of my games. Yes, several people have gotten stuck there, and I unfortunately can't fix that until uploads are unlocked (we're in the voting period). Every time I watch someone go up there, my heart stops when they near the corner, because anyone adventurous is going to fall down there. Anyway, there's a lot to dig up for the story, so please go check out PEK PLAYS' video of it, because he basically nailed the story first try. Thanks again, I look forward to more of your playthroughs!

Cool game! I really enjoyed the concept and the surprise horror element of this game!

Thank you, I really appreciate that! Glad you had a pleasant experience.

great game enjoyed it here is my play through https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZZkvg90Q9aE

Hey there! Good to see your name again, it's been a while. Glad you enjoyed it. Be sure to check out PEK PLAYS' playthrough if you wanted to know what was happening in the story! Thanks a bunch for playing, and be sure to watch out for more!

One of the most powerful and emotional experiences you can have for a ten minute game.  Incredible considering it was a week's worth of effort.  I look forward to Nemeses and anything else you work on!

Thank you so much! I'm so glad you had the experience I had hoped for. Even though the game is short and weird, I hoped that it would still be able to deliver a story in such a way that could actually make you feel something. Thanks for sharing your reaction. I assure you that much deeper and darker things are coming. Thanks again, friend!

Another lovely creation especially for a weeks work! Always look forward to your games even though you have a talent for making extremely creepy and horrifying stuff! :P

Another awesome horror game by Matt Reeves! You guys should try it for yourself, see if you get stuck in the same spot as me! Looking forward to updates!

Gave the game a try!  I thought the game was very cool!

Que bonitos paisajes...hasta que oscurece

Como siempre buen juego

Had fun with this one and enjoyed the ending :D!
