Great game!

(levels ill split by the large doors)

since my skill issue cant pass level 4(second time inside the tower) ill write about everything prior to that

level 1 and 2 are very well done with an introduction to the game play and mechanic

level 3 meanwhile asks "complete a tight jumping gauntlet then hope you fit into the next segment which is easier then the gauntlet.

level 4 (the parts that i can get to) is extremely intense despite the music. where a gauntlet but with clone... then there's a what i believe to be a recovery path which pretty much impossible to land on consistently

3 & 4 have a "one go" mentality and the game could benefit from checkpoints, otherwise it feels like a long seemingly unsupported bridge where the goal isn't exactly obvious other than

sometimes you can do the unintentional game play feature of ledge climbing and stated with other reviews "wall jumps".

the character is a bit slippery

the mechanic isn't anything new (Super Mario Galaxy 2 and Celeste have this mechanic) but its welcome. the pixel art is nice.

the spikes in their design say to me "yeah you can walk through me, just don't land on me" and the hit box is a bit larger than sight reading would do.

Awesome art and great use of the theme, the physics were a little floaty for a platformer though which made it quite challenging (that was probably your intent though), nice entry!

Really impressed with the polish on this! Great take on the theme. Love the squash and stretch of the character. The back-and-forth of the two palettes was a really nice touch to keep the scenery fresh. Awesome work!

Great game! I loved how the mechanic of the game is related to the theme of the jam, very original. And also probably one of the hardest games I played for this jam, if your goal was to ruin my day well you did it lol. jokes apart, great game and a great way to present the theme, I simply loved it! :D

This is a nice platformer with lots of potential. The clone mechanic is very interesting and really keeps yourself on your toes. The only downside was that in levels that were already very difficult it became a bit frustrating. The combination of a lot of movement momentum and large hitboxes on the spikes caused a lot of deaths that felt unfair. I got stuck on the interior level that has spikes on some of the platforms; I must have tried it 20 times, and I got to the vertical climbing section at the end 3 times, but all 3 times I missed a jump due to momentum and my clone ran into me. It was fun getting to that point though. Excellent pixel art and audio. Great work!

I really wanted to like this game because of how nice it looks, and I love the concept of "Celeste Chase Sequence but Whole Game is That Tho...", but I just couldn't. And let me preface this by saying all of this comes from a place of passion, and wanting this game to be something special, because you've got a great start, but it just feels wrong in my opinion, and I want to like it.

The main issue is the level design. I'm not a huge-fan of this style of platformer controls, but obviously great games have been made with it (best example of something similar being Super Meat Boy), so I don't think those are inherently the problem, as they are they feel alright, probably would need some tweaking, but I didn't have time to dig deep enough into that, but my 2 main suggestions would be:

1. Make them faster: it's a super long acceleration, deceleration and turning time, but the top speed doesn't really justify it taking that much time. Of course alternative to this would be reducing the acceleration, deceleration and turning time, but that feels like an even more fundamental change to how the character feels than increasing the speed.

2. Change the animation: This sort of goes in tandem with other change, but the current animation feels too slow for both the character's speed and the accel/deceleration, and it makes movement feel slightly sluggish.

But these changes don't fix this game biggest flaw. The game feels:

1. Too tight,

2. Too precise.

There are a lot of corridors in the tower and due to the high and floaty jump it's hard to properly maneuver through these tight spaces, but it feels more unfair and like the jump sending you up like your on the moon, than like a fair challenge like the tight spaces in Celeste, or Hollow Knight, or Shovel Knight.

And in the outside areas (inside too, but outside especially), there are jumps where you feel like you have to jump on the last frame of coyote time to land on the platform you are aiming for, which again feels unfair. A lot of these jumps are so wide they are offscreen, leading to misleading moments or blind jumps, but this might just all be an issue with framing.

Sorry if this review is harsh, but like I said, it is coming from a place of love and hope. Have a great day, and hope this was useful to you in some way.

I really like the squash and stretch effect on the main character when jumping, made the game feel polished. And this is a really cool take on the theme. Though, I think too many of the jumps fall under the archetype of "press space as late as possible without falling" for me. Those types of jumps are difficult, but not interesting. Also, I kept getting caught on the ledges of platforms, completely stopping my upwards momentum and causing me to die. Overall, I think the strongest part of the game is its art! It looks really good! And the music/sfx are cool too!

Awesome game! Very smooth and I loved how the clone chased you.

Cool platfomer, reminded me about Celeste, with all those mountains and evil clones :) Awesome shrinking animation on landing - really impactful! Liked how peaceful/dark-clone level sections goes one after another. Hated those spikes on the platforms. I guess, theirs collider is a bit bigger then it seems (or it just not obvious where it starts), so they were really irritating. Great job overall!

Really nice graphics and fun game, it gave me some prince of percia vibes due to the doppleganger

Like how bouncy you feel! It and made me rage! Good stuff.

This game is awesome, It gave me so much anxiety and I got really into it, I ended up rage quitting in that part after you jump up those alternating parts in the tower and then get past the spike parts and have to make that leap of faith.. that part is so hard!!! AHHH!!! great work!

really fun the only problem is that sometimes yopu can wall jump but sometimes you cant and its kinda annoying other than that good game

This was a really fun game, love the idea on how your not alon great job!

This is a step up from the other games I played, but it seriously needs to have some nerfing. There is a stupid jump in level 3 where there are spikes in the left side of the platform, and you have to make a presise jump and not press left on that platform.

It seems that the shadow clone ripped off from Super Mario 3D Land works perfectly, so more mechanics would be nice.

Damn wizards always causing chaos with curses and shit.... Anyhoo I found the game enjoyable however I dont know what its like for everyone else, the audio was extremely loud in the castle, with no way to turn it down except "off" with my head phones. Even right before i turn off the volume was super loud.

This is such a cool game! I think you did a cracking job. Some of the jumps made me so tense thinking I wasn't going to make it.nice work! :D

Love the art and the audio, the controlls feel a bit as if you were walking on ice, but its still better then having stiff controlls, the colisions could use a little bit of polishing, other then that, great game 7/10
