How does you game fit the theme?
On The Starbase, there is a soul still on the station. Occasionally during the game, the soul will take over your body and briefly change your player character.
Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
No. I used the Ultimate Camera Gamemaker extension, and all music was from the Action Pack 2 on itch.

i like the dual weapon flow and the fact that the enemies move more realistically (something like: move to a random point relative to the player) managed to get to the game crashing point at wave 3
the two weapon type work like "the one you want to use but cant very often" and "the one you dont want to use but it can be used for longer"
I'm not sure if there is supposed to be a boss due to wave 2-4 crash
and i didn't witness the player change/didn't notice (stated in how does this fit the theme)
that’s the bug :,( a spawning bug means that the player switch object crashes the game framerate. So it’s there. Come back after the jam and you should be able to play the whole game.
Nice little game! Good job!
Simple graphics, catching music and a nice game, you did a great job, I think. I like it!
This is a nice shooter. I liked the backstory (though I needed a bit more time to read it), and the shooting and death animations felt really good. I ran out of ammo on my first run in wave 2; it feels a bit too limited, especially as each shotgun shot counts as 3 ammo. There seemed to be some kind of pickups, but they were really rare? Overall I enjoyed it even though I could only play 2 waves. Nice work!
I didn't get that much time to balance ammo pickup spawn, so sorry about that. I guess I didn't find a sweet spot for that backstory text either. An issue I had with ammo was getting it into the gun I wanted, so that would be something that I would be something I would focus on for the full version. Shotgun shots counting as 3 ammo was there because that's how they work in real life so I didn't see anything too problematic with doing that. I might thinking about changing that in the full version, but I'm not sure. I think ammo re-balancing would be a better fix.
The controls feel very responsive, and kiting is very satisfying! The music is also awesome! Nice game xD
Nice game. It's very sad that you missed the line of code...
Fun shoot'em up game. It's sad that framerate drops and I can not check the whole game, but dont worry, you did a great job! It would be nice to have a sound fx for reload. Also in my opinion faster bullets would make shooting more interesting
In the last 2 days of the jam I tried increasing bullet speed, but I didn’t get too much time to test and tweak this jam, I was really cramming Saturday and Sunday, which is how the game broke.
Cool Shooter! reload was something that i found confusing as i didnt know how to and there was no sound cue to say i was. I did eventually figure it out tho. The framerate bug sucks but its a jam these things happen lol. Otherwise great entry!
well done! I think there should be a sound for the gun reloading
Simple wave shooter, did not get far into it as the framerate tanked to PowerPoint slideshow levels :(
It was a pretty fun game , i liked the graphics alot
very nice mechanic
would you like to rate my game
Great entry with a lot of polish. Not sure if it's a staple of the genre but I really liked the reload on right click mechanic. Coupled with the ability to quickly change weapons it made for some interesting moments where a quick decision was necessary.
Once I got the hang of it was releasing whole clips of shotgun ammo into oncoming hordes and felt great!
Will say that the camera movement following the mouse was a bit too quick for me, small issue though.
Great game, well done!
Thanks for all the kind words! I have plans to expand this game far beyond this jam version into a full Steam release over the coming year, so I will probably add the ability to change the sensitivity and acceleration on the camera in that version.
Was quite a fun little game with potential for development after the jam. was fun to play i got to wave 4 . i enjoyed murdering the little enemies anyway well done for the submission good luck
So you see it too 😉.
I already had plans to expand beyond a jam version pretty soon into development, to add more roguelite-y features whilst keeping the core fast reload and soul switching mechanics.
