Lockdown Escape

(1 edit)

The idea is interesting and cute, but sometimes it's a bit painful to play. First of all, it's a bit weird that I need to interact twice to get pollen from a flower. It would be better if I just take it to the inventory from the first time. Secondly, I feel that keys cost too much, especially for a jam game. It feels like I need to do a lot of grind to open the next location, and I think a lot of people just stop playing at that point. And finally, the UI of shops and customer houses is not convenient for the player. Also, I don't quite understand why I need all those customer houses, when I can sell everything in the same house

Anyway, I think you did a great work, and I hope this feedback will be useful.

Great game, that has a lot of potential, though I think it was a bit overscoped for a game jam.

Camera feels a bit clanky sometimes. I haven't noticed any intelligence in guards, they just stand in place and do nothing. Also, I don't understand what to do on a second level (green plane with one guard).

I advice you to scope smaller in the next jam and leave some time for polishing and bug fixing :) But anyways, good work!

Great work! I like the mechanics, the only downside is movement responsiveness. I understand that it's tile-based, but it would be nice to have ability to turn-around in the middle of animation. And I fell into the pits a lot in a dumb ways, so I'd prefer if I was not able to move into them.

Puzzles are more on the easier side, which, I guess, is perfect for a jam (personally, I'd prefer to have more complex levels and interactions, but it's just me :D)

Thank you for your feedback! I'm glad to hear that you liked my levels :)

As for the laser race, I totally understand your frustration. The idea was to make a level that would feel less like a puzzle, but more like an action-level to get a bit of rest from puzzles, and I tried to place some visual tips on how to go through the level (but I guess they were not clear enough). I received a lot of feedback that laser level appeared to people to be too difficult, so I'll reconsider my approach to such things in the future :D

The game is nice and fun, but there are some points to improve

- It would be nice to have some juicy fx for active reload (camera shake, sfx, something else perhaps) and to give temporary buff to the player after it

- Difficulty curve needs some balancing, because. firstly, after getting the second weapon, there is no need to buy ammo anymore. And secondly, player gets more powerful over time, while monsters stay mostly the same. After several waves monsters don't really pose any danger

But anyway, great work!

Nice and relaxing game. It's fantastic how you managed to spend your 8 hours and get something so meaningful and finished out of it! Great work!

Fun game, I enjoyed playing it! However, it takes a long time to walk around your tunnels in the late stage of game. I wish there was some kind of fast teleportation or smth

I love this game! Addictive and fun! Visuals are also nice.

The crown that gives you a shield each time you ascend is a bit OP.

Great work! I think a combat system is a bit too simple, but I enjoyed playing your game anyways. Also I accidentally exit the game with Esc key, which is not very convenient

I love old-style visual effects in the first part of the game! The movement is a bit clunky, especially in the first part. Also, I wish I had an opportunity to change mouse sensitivity, because the default one is too much for me, but anyways it was fun!

I like the idea and I enjoyed playing the game, however it looks waaay too small on my display. Also, sometimes I can't really understand why I get hit, or why I can't go through some of the passages. But anyway, great work!

Would love to see you playing my game!

I'll try to hop on the stream, but no promises

Fun game! It looks a bit cropped on my 16:10 display. Also I got stuck in 1-tile holes way too much :D. Otherwise than that it was a great experience!

Nice voice acting btw :D

Interesting game! However, sometimes it's not clear enough what to do to progress. Also, some of the collisions weird and I was able to get stuck behind the lying fridge

I'm glad you enjoyed it! I was thinking about making an easy mode for that level, but didn't have enough resources for that. Although, there is a "Skip level" button in the pause menu :)

I'm glad you enjoyed it! There is a "Skip level" button in the pause menu for such cases :D

Thank you! I'm glad that you've reached the last level and enjoyed the game!

There is a music volume setting in the pause menu, just in case

Great game with a promising concept! I wish there was some danger indicator when the monsters are at the critical level and I need to maintain the room immediately. Dialogs needs a bit of polishing: if you spam "Skip" trying to get to the gameplay part faster, you'll accidently hit the first dialog option.

Also, just an idea, it would be great if results of expedition or monitoring would be visible inside the room, not only in the journal (for example there would be a tools showing you pressure and temperature after expedition, image of the door would distort after finding visual anomalies, etc.)

Very fun and interesting game! I enjoyed playing it! I feel that block is too OP. I think it's better to have some kind of cooldown or stamina bar for it.

Poor doggos, they are to cute to shoot them T_T

Nice game! I love enemy variety, although firethrower goons have a bit dumb AI. Also, it's a bit hard to read the level visually - there is not much contrasts

I've encountered a bug when I got stuck in the border of level after opening a door

Great work! I wish there was a larger distance for projectiles to fly on every second level, because right now there is a little time to react. Also, I wish there were more mechanics on levels

Nice game! I love the art. I wish I could move faster between the rooms. Also, it would be nice to have a hotkey to skip dialog (yeah, I know there is text animation speed setting, but it's not very convenient to go and change it every time I want to skip dialogs). And also, I guess I'm blind, since I haven't found an evidence about who hired the hitman :D

Simple and fun game! It's quite challenging when there is more than 1 ranged monster :D

Amazing game! Room 79 took me ages to complete! The concept is very interesting and I love it

I enjoyed this game! It's not very complicated but fun anyway. On the last wave I used both my hands to press space, it was intense haha

Yo, another puzzle game!

I really enjoyed puzzles and I'm glad there are so many of them! The visuals and music are also on the level

Great work! The only issues that I encountered were that I made the boss to jump off the platform and after that I was not able to open the door :D Also, jumping into the void reset hearts, I don't think it was intended

Fun game! I like how the weapon attack feels, but camera shake is too strong i think. Also levels get repetitive over time, I wish there were more enemy types and layouts.

Fun game! I wish character control was a bit better (you can stuck at wall if you jump on it, controls itself feel a bit floaty). Also, for some reasons, jumps with the second weapon triggers attack (not sure if it was intended).

Wow! I was expecting just a regular sokoban game, but this mysterious door really changes the gameplay and makes you think of every previous floor you've been on before. It's a really interesting take on this theme!

I'm also a big fan of the game you've made for the 2023.1 jam, and I'm glad that you continue participating in game jams!

The game has a tense atmosphere. I wish the axe swing animation was more exaggerated and showed the hitbox of your attack. It was a fun experience, anyway!

Nice game, I think it's fitting the theme. The only complain is that I still don't understand how I should get the color code for second door, without reading it in the description

I had fun playing this game! Although, I was not expecting THIS THING at floor 22 :D

The music is awesome! I think it's quite cruel to make player memorize the right doors from the start, but anyway I had fun playing your game!

Wow, this game is so addictive. I wish there were more levels, because I can't stop playing it

I can see the potential in this text adventure, but I wish the story was longer

I love the style!
It took me a while to understand how to solve puzzles, and I haven't noticed icons at the bottom left corner initially. But I really enjoyed the game!

Fun game! It's a bit unusual that character can go through the platforms. Also there was a bug, that after picking the wrong door, there were two soundtracks playing at the same time

Amazing game! I love the art, the music and especially Dick Dawson!!! Some of the levels were a bit tricky to play, but it was really fun
