How does your game fit the theme?
The main thing that the protagonist is searching for is a door that allegedly cures every ill. It is unknow if it is true, though.
Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
While i did make all the sprites and code myself, i did use music from the game Cave Story (Wiiware).

Good game!
Could you please rate my game ( https://itch.io/jam/brackeys-11/rate/2536045 )?
My game has very few ratings :(
Very difficult and interesting!
The 'melting' mechanic is unique and made for some fun challenges. The character moves at a snail's pace though so you pretty much have to hold the run button the whole time, why not just up the players movement and get rid of that entirely? A little tutorial text can go a long way here, like "WASD" to move.. etc. I pressed every button on my keyboard at game start only to read the description and realize I needed to click the door to start. The secret ending was cool but it was hard to tell if it was a bug, adding text in that section would help for this as well. Solid work.
yeah...Think I'll fix that after the game jam ends. Why WASD though? You move with the arrow keys.
Nice game ! grate job !
Weird mechanic, that's original ^^! The music is a nice touch, I enjoyed it. And the "wrong door" made me laugh xD. Congrats =)
Cool game, the mechanics are the best part. But I had a going through platforms bug.
Great game overal.
Uhh, that's the main thing about the game: you're "Melt" Dude, so you melt through platforms
Interesting game mechanic. Took me some time to get the hang of the controls (luckily I read that you can sprint with the w key (or w for qwerty users)).
I only found the bad ending though :( Well done.
Uhm...What? The controls are arrow keys to move, Z to run, space to jump and R to restart.
Sorry mistyped: meant to say that I had to press the w key iso the z key to sprint for some reason… Maybe I changed my keyboard layout by accident 🤔
Pretty cool game, i really liked the melting mechanic that separates the game from a classic platformer. Great work.
This we cool, the platforms you could sink through gave me oldschool platformer vibes, and at first I thought clipping into the wall was a collision oversight, but then realized it was an intended mechanic, which I really like as it gives more than one way to approach each obstacle. I think my only gripe was that I didn't know I could run for a while since there is no in game indication, which led to spikes being a wall that you had to go under rather than over, but that aside, cool game!
Thank you! I guess pixel-art really gives that retro vibe. A fun fact is that the clipping through walls and melting mechanics are actually a bug turned feature. Next time i'll try putting the controls in the actual game.
Firstly, really interesting platformer mechanic! The melty dude just makes you wanna keep jumping on the platform, which makes for some really fun moments. I would suggest making the movement controller a little tighter and this game can be even more fun to play (checkout GMTK's video about it if you are interested :) ).
Do check out our game too!
Thank you for the review! Could you please link the GMTK video (I'm not good at finding videos lol). Keep in mind that this is my first game and the whole "melting" thing was actually a bug turned feature (don't tell anybody!)
Fun game! It's a bit unusual that character can go through the platforms. Also there was a bug, that after picking the wrong door, there were two soundtracks playing at the same time
Thank you for playing! Strange bug, though. I playtested the game alot of times and i never encountered something like this. If you played in the browser then yeah, it is normal.
