If you use asset packs, i recommend just sticking to one or 2 that align with the theme, and just improvise with what you have. Still, just the fact you made something playable is super respectable!

Overscoping really is a beast uh? Such a shame you couldn't create a game with all the things you wanted, the art is phenomal and the dialogue with the coffe woman was really funny. Sadly there's little to no gameplay and as you said you didn't have time to get sprite layering done. Also evil Godot default sprites. I managed to get a fat level of 75 by day 6.

Cool little game you have done, happy that you got back into gamedev! The game is a little repetitive tho, the one power up does help a bit, but i think more power ups or even the ability to sacrifice an acorn to throw it at a dog, making him unable to attack for a while, would have been cool. Overall it's a cute little game. My high score was 33 before getting saved by the squirrel CIA.

This sure was a...game. The music in the background was cool i suppose? The sprites' styles didn't align with each other and the gameplay quickly became repetitive. I got to level 3 with 1150 as my highscore before getting my skin ripped and my skull decapitated by birds and mysterious red blocks.

By looking at the premise and the title screen i thought this would have been a malinconic game, but then i got thrown into a fun action shooter game! Seriously man, really cool stuff. My highscore is 994!

I love the whole mood of the game, made by both the minimalistic art and the retro music. Kind of a shame that there's little to no gameplay, as there are really no way to lose and the game is very short, but still a fun little experience that captures the fall vibe.

This game was really relaxing and cute! Especially the little shroom guy. The gameplay wasn't really original, but it's good as it is. My only nitpick is that the hitboxes are the same as the sprite size: in most games the actual hitbox is smaller than the sprite to not make it feel unfair when the player takes damage when 1 pixel of the sprite touches an obstacle, and that happened alot to me. Still, you guys did such a great job on this! I finished the fall with 33 acorns.

This game is really cute, and a really good first game! Sometimes the style of the pixel art isn't the same across all sprites, and sometimes the sprites got resized in engine, creating a bad effect called mixels, but again, as a first game this is awesome! Good job!

I think this is by far the most creative game in the jam! I LOVE the whole vibe of it, with baby remix music and funny objects that hurt you. These were all my highscores! Great game overall!Human, I remember you're...UNDERTALE SFX/MUSIC

I like the graphics, especially the background, and the sound effects, but in the gameplay department it was really lacking. I beat the game without moving and just spam clicking the mouse.

I love what you did with the theme here! I also love all the art and how smooth the movement is! My only gripe is that there wasn't any background music, but this is more of a nitpick. Great Job!

The idea for the game is neat, and the art does have personality, but it's a little primitive. There also wasn't any audio, I don't know if that was only a problem for me tho. Pickups would also often end being more detrimental than good, but I guess that adds another layer of difficulty to it. My highest score was -188 m!

This was a really cozy game! I like the relaxing music and the minimalist art, but the gameplay felt very lacking and i had to find myself go and do something else while waiting for the vegetables to grow. Maybe giving the player some more agency in the speed of the plant's growth would have helped the gameplay.

Cool little game! I especially like your low res art and your cute frogs!

Alrighty!

As a first game jam, this is awesome! i especially like the palette you used, so retro! If i had to say something, the hammer hitting animation is slow, so slow infact that it's impossible to whack all the robots before they drain all the HP.  Still, this can easily be fixed, and i congratulate you on making this really cute game

How is development currently going?

yeah...Think I'll fix that after the game jam ends. Why WASD though? You move with the arrow keys.

Hey guys, so sorry if I wasn't able to rate your games. It's just that I can't now. As soon as I can I'm gonna rate them all

Uhh, that's the main thing about the game: you're "Melt" Dude, so you melt through platforms

Thank you! Also, my friend, that's called a bug turned feature B)

Hey, so it would be really nice if you would play my game! It's a retro platformer with a "Melty" twist.  Here's the link: https://itch.io/jam/brackeys-11/rate/2528949

Uhm...What? The controls are arrow keys to move, Z to run, space to jump and R to restart.

Cool Game! Reminds me of games like Riddle School, and it gives a really creepy vibe. I found 2 bugs though. First, if you interact with something, leave the room and then return the subtitles wont go away until you re-interact with the object, and the second is the clock became impossible to interact with.

Thank you! I guess pixel-art really gives that retro vibe. A fun fact is that the clipping through walls and melting mechanics are actually a bug turned feature. Next time i'll try putting the controls in the actual game.

Thank you for the review! Could you please link the GMTK video (I'm not good at finding videos lol). Keep in mind that this is my first game and the whole "melting" thing was actually a bug turned feature (don't tell anybody!)

Interesting puzzle game! You always won't know what will be behind the door, and this creates a great gameplay loop.

Thank you for playing! Strange bug, though. I playtested the game alot of times and i never encountered something like this. If you played in the browser then yeah, it is normal.

Uhm yeah, i know. That's the true ending. there are 2 other in this game.

(1 edit)

While it is possible, it's a mess and i dont think im gonna do it

EDIT: ok i fixed it it is coming in like 2 secs

The idea is great, but i feel like the game isn't polished enough (hypocrite speaking here). If the player just walks down they instantenously die for the ship. Maybe making the ships spawn less often and making the player have more HP would make it better

Version 1.1 is out!

New animations for the player!

New SFX!

New ending!

I make games in Gamemaker studio 2. Thank you!

Yeah. I'm new here, and i dont know how this works. Still, i've published my first "real" game as a competitor in this jam. I would be so happy if you could try it.
