Did you work in a team?
The game was designed by me (Radar), and I worked with two composers (FidelDelgado, Lucas Bere) for the audio.

Was the resolution a challenge?
The instructions and UI were a challenge, but in general I think abstract games are more suited to this restriction than other genres.

What did you learn?
I entered the jam having only made single player games. In this jam I learned how to make multiplayer games and set up a server authoritative architecture.

This is a very impressive game. I'm interested in the algorithms behind the diffusion and the dynamics of the interacting fluids. It's a really creative concept that is relaxing to play yet thought provoking when it comes to strategies. Excellent work!

I enjoyed the concept although it took a couple of plays to get the mechanics. Overall kind of relaxing for a competitive game. Would be cool to play with a person (non-AI). I also really liked the audio design and color palette. Nice work.

Interesting concept, I was able to just never felt the need to use the aethergel and the enemy AI was beatable in each difficulty, but still a chill entry nonetheless.

Out of all the Jam games this is the one I've returned to the most to try playing. It is a fascinating game and I really enjoyed trying out different strategies.

This game is chill and tense at the same time, and it's pretty unique but easy to pick up and play. The song is great, and I appreciate that there are various difficulty modes. One thing I like about it is coming up with different strategies to win against the AI. I didn't play multiplayer mode, but it's pretty fun in single player.

If I have to give any feedback, I think the UI could be improved. But it already works pretty well for this kind of game, and gameplay-wise I think the game is already pretty fun.

Wow! The game is both original and has a low entry threshold. I immediately understood how to play it. I liked the music that motivates you in some places, and relaxes you in others. The game feels great even in single-player mode.

Fun game! I got dunked the first time but after that I think I had it mostly figured out - at least for single player. Overall I thought the concept was new and fresh and I had a good time playing!

Interesting concept, I used to play a similar fluid game in the past although that one didn't have the neutral gel mechanic.

I haven't found a proper strategy for the game yet, seems like I win by random most of the time.

Visuals are clean and work well together, audio is relaxing enough and fits too.

Surprisingly engaging gameplay! I had fun trying to find the best strategy to corner my opponent. And wow, from a programmer’s point of view, this is a super interesting project technically, with organic-feeling fluid simulation and actual online multiplayer!

Be sure to ask the creator to play a multiplayer game with you!

I beat the AIs and want to play multiplayer but no ones playing ToT can I ask how is the yellow supposed to be used? is it to place around the opponent to block them? I'd love to see how you coded the fluid, its perfect! :) great game

Id love to see what some of the more interesting boards are that you have ideas for!

Thanks for playing! The strategic value of the yellow Aethergel is still being explored by me and the playtesters. What we have been able to conclude is that it can defend your borders when the opponent tries to invade. Mechanically, what happens during a collision is that the weaker side gets totally annihilated (at the border), and thus creates a vacuum. Since the Ods are fluids, the rest of your Od gets sucked into that vacuum, which gets eaten up by the (stronger) opponent again. This creates a cascade effect where the stronger player can just "ride the wave" to victory. The yellow Aethergel protects the weaker player against that because it prevents the border from being annihilated and therefore prevents a vacuum from being created. So you can think of them as a buffer material designed to slow down the opponent's initiative.

A second use of the Aethergel is mana efficiency, since Od costs 5 mana and Aethergel only costs 3, you can have something to do when short on mana. 

The fluid mechanics comes from a paper by Jos Stam called Real-Time Fluid Dynamics for Games. In future updates I plan to have obstacles in the middle of the game board, as well as drains (like the ones in bathtubs) which suck in all of the surrounding Ods.

Cool concept. I definitely could see its similarity to Go—it seems like there's a lot of depth to this game. I seemed to have figured out a winning strategy against the CPU, as I won against all three of the difficulties. I suspect I'd have more difficulty against a sufficiently-experienced human, but there was no one online when I checked.

I'd start out with laying out od along the top of the screen, and then resist any incursions that the AI was trying to make into my space. It'd waste enough of its mana on futile attempts at breaking through at spaces other than its main concentration point that I'd be able to hold out the entire game.

I'll see if I can find some time to play some multiplayer. I'm sure I'd fare worse against you (especially now that I've given away my winning strategy!).
