Did you work in a team?
solo dev

Was the resolution a challenge?
it was hard to figure out how to convey information in the UI and in the intro, had to find a small font and use few words

What did you learn?
i wanted to learn about 2D lighting in godot as well as very basic use of tilemaps, procedural generation, etc. i learned a lot from it despite having to pare down a lot of features and systems. i think this will help me a ton when building 2D games in the future as a lot of the code and mechanics will be reusable.

I wished there was something else to the game than follow the red marker in the compass… roaming the desert following the compass becomes a bit boring pretty fast. Harvest failed more times than work, shown as an action but the colision or action registry failing, particularly for smaller plants. Music is quite good. The sprite rest frame is ok, the alternate frame is quite messy which ends up making the animaion not so smooth. Good ideas, but a little bit more push on gameplay needed. Good Job sofar, keep at it!

The concept of gathering water from plants to survive in the desert is pretty cool. Unfortunately, I didn’t need to find any plants because the 7 things you collect refill your hydration too. And from the moment I required plants to survive, I couldn’t find any 😅

This is such an interesting premise! I got confused by what I think is the normal BGM—was that playing directionally, too? I think I tried following that for a good while and of course there was nothing there, haha. I made it to 6 stones before eventually running out of luck. Overall I think this concept has a lot of promise.

Nice little game! I couldn't find any plants during the last stretch, but luckily nighttime hit just in time to spare me lol. Good job!

There's a nice base for an exploration/survival game here. I thought that walking through the desert was a little too repetitive and sometimes I couldn't harvest plants. However when the music expanded to big chords when you were near escape was very well done. I wish games did that more often.

it was a little boring to walk so much in the desert, but it was meditative, I liked the music and graphics, and also this is a great Low rez game

Interesting but got boring quick because, as others said, it's just holding down 1 button and praying to find some plants. Visuals and music was nice tho.

It's a cool concept, but all in all not a very interesting game. Most of the game was holding down a button and hoping to find plants, but I understand that procedural generation can take a lot of time to make (I've used it in a game jam submission before too, and boy did it take a while!)

That being said there's still a lot to like about the game. The sound design is neat, and the plants system did keep the game from being boring. The compass tool and the day/night cycle are also very cool additions! I love how the cycle affects the gameplay too and isn't just for show (but even if it was that'd still be a welcome addition!)

It's a cool game, just needs more variety. Well done!

Interesting idea! Music is a bit annoying, but that is just my personal preference, overall everything is great to me, even though im not a dev! Good luck with your projects! :)
