Nice game. Although crafting was confusing took me a wile to figure out I just needed to keep collecting resources until the items appear on the left corner.

A minor suggestion let the player place the fire on the game / map.

What a polished game! Props to all the options in the menu.

Even if not everything is polished, the graphics are stunning, even if they are simple.

Unfortunately, did not understand how to build stuff. Is there a building table? An inventory other than slots?

Developer(+1)

No there is no building table. Once you gather enough materials for an item, you see it appear in the crafting menu at the top left. The inventory is only the nine slots.

Glad you liked the options menu! I made it in a previous jam and have been using it as a template for all my games.
Here's the github link to it if you're interested: https://github.com/SuddenlyNothing/BaseGodotProject

Cool game.  It had a very Minecraft feel to it.  I found it a little hard to keep up with all the different meters and could have used some more breathing room.  Also, after a while I no longer had an option to make fires even though I had collected 140 pieces of firewood.

Developer

Hmm that's a bit concerning. Did you also have stone? The crafting recipe for fires is 20 wood and 20 stone which is listed on the itch page.

If you did have stone, you can try dragging an item out of your hotbar and picking it back up which should update the crafting list.

I think I might have run out of stone, so that may be it.

I spent like 10 minutes just amassing an ungodly amount of wealth and then instantly died to a crab because I only crafted a spear lmao, but for real I really loved this one I love seeing numbers go up and I love top down combat stuff and it nailed what a fast survival game should really be honestly (very good)! :)))

Great art and audio. Nice polished feel to the game overall. It was a bit counter intuitive that I'd have to drink sea water to quench my thirst though!

Submitted(+1)

The art was great and the controls were easy to use. I feel that the balance was pretty weird becayse the amount of wood needed was pretty high while I almost never needed anything else.

Great game overall though!

Developer

Yeah, balancing is difficult for game jams. I didn't get a chance to think about it too much so it is a little weird

Glad you like it!

I didn't understand how to build a fire. Was there an instruction I missed?

Up to there, I really liked it and the sound effect/music are incredible!

Developer (1 edit)

No there wasn't anything you missed. I wasn't able to create a great tutorial so some instructions are missed.

You can build a fire with 20 wood and 20 stone.

I will add a table with all crafting information on the itch page right now.
Edit: All crafting information is on the itch page now.

cool! I really wanted to play again so I'll be able to go further in the game :)

This was really well put together. Not my usual type of game but kept trying until I did get to the end. :) Art style and audio create a really nice atmosphere, well done!

Wow, awesome work, love the art and the resource management, this plays really smooth. Love it, great job!

I'm glad you liked it! Thanks for playing!

It's my first survival game so wasn't sure how it would turn out.
