I loved the story, this is such a good idea, it gives meaning and depth to the gameplay. And the art style goes well with the atmosphere. It is a bit discouraging when all the plastics appear after you finish cleaning the first area, but it goes well with the message because yeah cleaning the ocean is not something you can do in 2 minute ^^

Very good take on the theme! I liked how all the different mechanics tied together. I didn't have time to finish the game but I kept it because I definitely want to play it again.

Developer

Glad that you'll be coming back to the game! Thanks.

This game has an extremely strong narrative. It takes the question "what if there were suddenly a very strong financial incentive to clean up the ocean," and just executes it very well. The amount of cleaning required to find the magic QR code would be very much, so the game makes you do a lot of cleaning. I really did feel like I was sifting through a large number of QR codes to try to find the magic one. I think this is because, in game play terms, doing 80 things really is a pretty significant number. So, the game ultimately works out pretty well.

I was being a little facetious with the story, reading quotes like "It would bankrupt any nation who tried to clean it all up" motivated me.

Thanks for playing to the end, might be slightly long for a gamejam but I appreciate it. :)

Nice mechanic, the tied boats! Quite original, I liked it!

The setting is really nice. Loved the upgrade system and the progression. Quite rare to be able to nail it in a game jam, you should be proud.

Thanks for the submission!

Fantastic story! Also good job implementing all the different mechanics in such short time.
A minor suggestion will be to add more motion to the water.

Developer

Thank you very much. Yes I tried to keep the ocean subtle but perhaps went too far. :)

Well made game with a relatable theme of cleaning up the oceans. Really liked the intro and contextual setup for the game. The initial ships were hard to control, and it was difficult to figure out how to go about playing the game. But once I got the hang of it, cleaning up was fun, especially with the later ships and drone! Nice music and good graphics.

Developer

Thank you for your feedback. I agree the second ship setup can be tough, and the last setup is more calm to operate. :)

Super unique! If there was more incentive to keep going i definitely would have kept going for a while more.

Thanks for playing! Yeh I agree.. it takes about 10-15 minutes for me to get to the end, which I figure is enough to satisfying most gamejam game players. :)

What I was trying to say is that the game loop is very engaging, with a little more content this could go on for much longer.

Oh right I understand, thanks. Might be a project to add to in the future. :)
