Good idea, the game could be fun, but as othes said there are a few problems to resolve.

Developer

Definitely!! I'm just grateful for all the suggestions we've been given. The way I implemented stamina in the game too wasn't super clear either so that's definitely going to need a revamp in updating this as it did not feel intuitive at all with how I implemented it.

Hi initially had a look at this due to the knight's pixel art which I like and had fun weaving between the arrows! Unfortunately, I had the idea of just standing to one side, and as long as I put equal points into health and stamina I seemed to win every time without moving. Saying that though it seems you've already gone through new ideas and additions in other comments so will be interesting to see where it goes from here!

Developer

Thanks for playing!! That issue standing to one side we found too and we've already got fixes coming on the way such as better arrow tracking and a higher fire rate when u get more health and such.

A cool idea. I didn't understand everything about the controls and the UI and I would have liked obstacles to avoid the too linear side, but I had a lot of fun. Well done <3

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing!!! Some obstacles could be cool to add definitely. I'll add it to my list.

Once you get the rythm it can get a bit repetitive! Willy Utano under my comment kind of described how I felt, there could be even objects that you can pick up between the arrows! Kind of a "taking a risk for a reward" kind of way! But it is a completely solid entry for a gamejam, well done! :)

Developer

Thank you for the feedback!!! We thought about having pickups so we'll look at implementing them and see what feels right and fun!!

Nice idea, although… It could receive a bit more love: either by polishing up a bit the UI, or giving some sort of feedback of how much you’ve stayed alive before running out of stamina (because, honestly, you’ll practically never die of arrows unless you actively try to catch them), or by increasing the number of arrows after a fixed time period, or by implementing jump and putting obstacles along the way… The possibilities are so many, give your design muscles a chance to flex a bit more!

Keep it up!

Developer(+1)

We've already started making it so as you progress the number of arrows increase as we found it currently is too easy to dodge them too. Loads of things like obstacles and a jump mechanic would definitely be really cool to implement so we'll definitely give it a look!!! Thank you for the feedback!!!

Nice entry. Everything works as intended. I found it a bit too easy to avoid arrows which quickly turned the fun into a grind. It seemed to stay pretty much the same level of peril throughout. it would have been interesting if the frequency of arrows steadily increased over time. At one point I found myself watching the background roll by and forgot to move. I was fine for a long time before I remembered I was supposed to be avoiding the arrows. With a bit more peril this would be a lot more fun.

Thank you for playing!!!

We've already started modifying the arrow firing system so that it increases the fire rate over time as we agree it was way too easy at the moment.  From looking at other people's comments we're also thinking of adding possible obstacles you can jump over or duck under too to add a bit more challenge that way.

That all sounds like it would add value.

a nice relaxing game , good for a game jam

Thank you for the feedback!!!

I felt this one could of used a little more in it to up the challenge, like maybe obstacles in front that you could duck or jump over. But otherwise the game was quite good and the art was really nice. Amazing job.

Developer

Thank you for the feedback!!! We've already started to modify how the arrows fire at you to make it more challenging and adding obstacles would definitely be cool and add a bit more challenge.

Thanks for playing!

Game was fun and the upgrades make it seem like you've really progressed. After enough playing, you are rewarded with the game being afk-able which lets you upgrade even more! I love games that can be played Idly so great job! Music was fun and enjoyable.  Use of theme is a bit light as you only say you're leaving the enemies behind but other than that there's no link.

Developer

Thanks for playing our game!! I agree the use of the theme was a bit light. We had ideas originally where you would leave your limbs behind as they got shot. A bit graphic but sadly we didn't have the time to implement that. We will try and implement that in a subsequent update perhaps. Even that though would've been a bit light on the theme yea but none the less it was fun to make!

Awesome guys! Great work, I think this game works perfectly for this jam. Leave your enemies behind you! I love the character and the animations. I think the falling one needs to only happen once though! lol Really good to see you and Ludo smash this out. You two make a really good team!

Developer(+1)

Yea that won't be to hard to put in I'll make sure to make it only happen once.

Thanks for playing!!

This feels like a flappy bird game but instead, arrows start chasing you hahaha. Would love to see it with different game modes like Difficult or Extremely difficult :)

One thing is the arrow sounds, I think that is just a continuous sound but it would be great if the sound is instantiated or at the same time the arrow appears in the screen (a very short whoosh would be okay). The reason for this is that, I use the sound for being alert on the arrows.

But overall, still a great game! :D

Developer

Thanks for the feedback!! We'll look at changing the arrow sounds being instantiated so it feels a bit more natural. Cheers!!

This game reminded me a little of bullet hells. Of course, it wasn't as extreme as a bullet hell, but it was still fun to have to weave back and forth to dodge the arrows. I also wound up putting all the points I got from the levels into stamina instead of health, and then tried to see how long I could go. I didn't think that the game had an end, but if it does, let me know so I can try and reach it!

A critique of mine is that the arrow whooshing sounds were a bit too loud over the background music, and because there were so many arrows being fired, it started to feel sort of repetitive for my tastes. Great game overall, and thank you for your hard work!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback!!! The game does have an end if you can manage to reach it!!! I agree the arrows are a bit loud so I'll look at lowering their volume. Cheers!!
