Awesome job. Loved the sound design. Super scary when the cat appears right in front of you!

All I can is just wow. That was fun and the atmosphere was amazing. Good job guys!!!
I finid it funny that we thought of similar mechanics! (leaving feather behind - leaving slices of yourself behind and having a creepy cat - having a crepy dark block), i enjoyed your game! :) and yes, the cat must have been inspired by Alice in Wonderland!! well done!
There is quite a lot of tech issues/glitches in this game, like things clipping in and out of existence, wall clips etc but this is a really nice game none the less, i am wondering though what this is doing here, for me the UI really shines in this game, i really liked the UI
Overall though this is a really neat game, good job on this!
Interesting open world, cute graphics and surprisingly scary gameplay.
I really like the idea of having multiple exits and a world that's sort of divided into smaller sub-areas. It was an intersting challange to outsmart the cat on all possible fronts. I really love the moment when the cat sees you, exerything from the tense music, the growling animation and the red frame around the screen. The pathfinding on the cat was good as well, made running away a real challange. It's a shame that there is no animation for when it catches you. Making the screen fade a bit faster would definitely make it a lot cleaner.
Overall, very nice game with very little to complain about.
I escaped from the cat! Pretty neat entry. I'm really impressed by the model and animations / rigging of the owl and cat. Props to the 3D artist! The cat was surprisingly creepy, almost alike to a grotesque cheshire cat from Alice in wonderland. Pretty cool mechanic of figuring out how close you are to the objective by dropping a feather, mazes can be pretty stressful if you have no indicator of how close you are to the end. The controls worked perfectly and the environment was pretty cool and detailed for a game jam of just 1 week. The music and sound effects really fit the nocturnal atmosphere, very eerie but at the same time the cute owl sounds were comforting. The credits menu didn't work for me, you guys should get all the credit you deserve on this game! The controls were communicated very clearly and the objective was clear. My only complaint is that it was hard to tell what the exit was when I saw it, I think I passed by it a couple times before I realized it was the exit.
Awesome submission!
Yes we had really amazing 3d artists on our team i'm impressed too ! The cat was definitely inspired by the Cheshire cat so you spotted right !
The feathers system is indeed pretty useful for escaping the maze, i'm usually not a big fan of maze but I don't find this one exhausting to navigate in thanks to this system and the different "biomes" of the maze. Like you said our composer was amazing too (in fact all the team was really it was such a cool experience). That's really cool that you've seen a duality beetween the night sounds and owl sounds, that's a really good reading imo.
And by the way the credits menu is now fixed ! But you can also find the credits in the game page description !
And we will try to make it easier to see the exit too if we have the time.
Thanks for this nice and complete feedback !
I didn't expect to find myself playing an owl-based survival horror today, but I'm glad it happened!
Honestly running from the cat made me more panicked than a lot of full of horror game have made me feel.
I love the models and the concept is a really neat one.
I happened down the right path on my second go purely by accident, so got through it quite quickly after that, but it was definitely a fun ride!
We wanted to go with a dark/cute esthetic and not full horror but i'm glad we've still been able to make people panic !
And yes you can find the exit quite easily if you are lucky and the cat is not around
Thanks for the feedback, it's cool that you had a ton of fun playing our owl-based survival horror :D
This is cute and scary at the same time :D
Dropping the feather is an awesome idea, I like the gameplay.
Yes we had the feathers idea really early, but we had to think a lot and made a lot tweaks to get to this pretty cool version!
And yes one of the first think we agreed on was to make a game with a dark/cute esthetic, so if it's cute and scary it means we did it right 😁
Thanks for playing and for the feedback!
Very suspenseful, and particularly great use of music and transitions when the cat locks onto you. Gave me Slenderman vibes but a lot more wholesome haha ;) Wonderful character model, and the level was very nicely designed as a whole. It took me a little while to find the exit through the maze, but the looming threat of the cat made that kind of trial and error/exploration a lot more interesting.
Yes our sound designer and composer did an amazing work!
Nice that you had slenderman vibes it was of my game design inspiration. We also inspired ourselves from several other games, for exemple we've been greatly inspired by the AI of the Alien in Alien isolation for the cat!
I'm really happy you liked the level design I've been working a lot on it and our environment artist too. I really thank her for making my design come to life with such amazing assets.
And yes the exploration become really cool when you add a dangerous cat to the equation 🐱
Thanks for this long feedback!
I loved the dropping feathers idea I thought that was amazing. The game really gave you a sense of dread as you see how small you are in comparison to everything else. Excellent job it was really fun.
The graphics are great and the music transitions too. A couple of times Barsik the cat spotted me through the walls and sometimes i slipped right through their faces. Overall i had a good time playing it. Good job!
That nice to read, we've worked a lot on the graphics and sounds 😁
Oh that's a really bad cat you had here, spotting you through walls, that's not really fair!
Thank you for your feedback, having some messages from the player is important for the polish phase. And we're glad you had a good time playing our game!
That is the cutest tail wag of an owl hahahaha. I really enjoyed this game so much. I explored every corners just to find the exit. I love how the music is used in this game. Superb! That is a great indication if a cat is already behind me while trying to explore various places. Aside from that, it is good to see a visual clue (the screen starts to turn red) whether the cat is near me. I also love the ambient night sounds. It makes me feel calm before the intense music.
Probably some feedback, there are some locations where I can pass through even though it is not intended and there are plants and fences that have huge colliders blocking my path. I also checked how the feathers work but it feels like all corners and places where I dropped the feather looks the same (no bright or dark feather) making it even harder to complete the game.
But overall, I really enjoyed the suspense (I hope this is the intended feeling you guys wanted me to feel hahahaha) and had fun with this game.
We're glad you enjoyed the game we had a ton of fun making it!
We've been a bit on short on time but since we have 3 days for polish we are going to try to fix those collisions problems
And yes currently we are focusing on making the feather color way easier to see, it's way too dark actually and it's really damaging the gameplay.
Really happy the suspense worked on you and you had a lot of fun playing our game 😁
