Use of the limitation
The limitation takes place in the 3rd level, in the form of a heart. In order to fuel the soul grappler (Yes very original grappling hook name), an essence of the character is taken thus used as fuel. Once that said fuel runs out, time rewinds to the beginning. Also you can use your own corpses (Physical health with a dash of sanity) as grappling vectors how cool is that!?!

As everyone else is saying: the art is really good! The dark blue contrasts well with the bright orange and it feels pretty halloween-y. I did have a problem though, when I tried to close the game, there wasn't a close button so I had to go through task manager. But otherwise this is a very solid entry!

Developer(+1)

Thank you! Also yeah, closing the game may have been a bit too tedious when I first playtested but in an after-jam version, that would be made easy as walking in the park!

looks, plays and sounds great. i died a few times by misjudging the edges, as others have mentioned, but that's a pretty minor point. fantastic work!

Developer

That’s definitely a mistake on our end, and especially mine since I did most of the playtesting. I should have sent it out to a few extra playtesters as well before releasing it.

I’m  incredibly happy that you still enjoyed it though! Thank you :)

It looks so fricking good!!

Amazing job on the art style and color use, truly awesome

Also, the gameplay reminds my of Helltaker, what is always a good thing ;D

Developer

Thank you!!, and honestly the Helltaker-ish gameplay kinda made me worried that we're copying Van, but I'm glad to hear its a good thing : D. I play a Helltaker too myself without skipping a puzzle, haha. Pain.

Fun and cool...

well unless if you are talking about the guy with a burning head, that guy is not "cool" at all

Developer(+1)

You could say that guy is "hot headed"

The game is amazing overall, the art style is good and well drawn, the music and sfx blends very well too, the mechanics is also unique, Good Job!

Developer

I'm glad you also enjoyed the music and sfx : D, I'll be sure to improve these in the future and take up sound design.

Aye, this game rocks. The art style is amazing, the mechanics were on point. Great job!

Developer

Thank you! ;_;

OOO such a awesome entry! beautiful art and sound design. The mechanic was really cool too! and while there is very few levels the few that I did play were really really good, seriously awesome.

As far as feedback goes only a few nitpicks. Something about the movement felt a little weird, I think it might be caused by it not being super clear where the grid is supposed to be, maybe having that be visible would be good. If it gets to much in the way of the visuals maybe have it toggleable would be nice. I did find it weird at first that dying by cliff reset the level, but dying by spikes didnt? I picked it up really fast. but def caught me off guard at first.

Again minor nitpicks aside this was a A+ entry. Great work

Developer

Thank you so much! That is great feedback, we'll hopefully be able to implement a settings menu if the game is updated wherein we will make a grid option. Right, we had some issues with the cliffs, sadly it was too easy to abuse and made some levels super easy^^' So that was sadly the only solution at the time. We'll try and see if we can find a better fix for it.
Thank you again :)

Amazing art and concept! The levels were made with a beautiful precision, and the soundtrack fits the game very well! Really good work.

And last, I love the idea of grappling hooks, and the one in this game is just so good!

Developer(+1)

Thank you for the kind words! ^^ Trust me my fascination for grappling hooks is just the same :,D

This was short yet fun. Delicious art and color, great concept and tight puzzles! DO expand on this please! <3

Developer

Thank you so much! We're glad you enjoyed it. We are planning on adding some extra content after the jam voting period. So look out ;)

Submitted(+2)

Just followed the both of you. OMG. This is so good, specially the last level. As everybody already stated below, this looks like a game that is ready for steam. Imo, it's bette than a lot puzzle games on steam. I'm breathless.

Developer

Thank you! We really appreciate it! Yeah, we ought to try finish after the jam as this one as it came out really well and make it a very small standalone puzzle game.

Submitted(+2)

I really enjoyed this game! The art style was amazing and the puzzles were great. I especially enjoyed the final level, as you have to use all of the mechanics the game has taught you to complete it. I wish it was longer! :)

Developer

Thank you! I spent most of my days in the jam baking that pixelart goodness, and I'm happy to hear you enjoyed it!

Submitted(+2)

Can't believe that it's possible to make that cool polish game in such a small time. It looks very professional!

Last level was tricky )
And this is one more advantage of the game - not just cool concept but smart implementation of it. I really like it!

Developer(+1)

I feel honored, especially from developer who's developed my best pick in the jam imo (I have an eccentric preference to the Chicken game!), the last level was indeed tricky and I;m glad you were challenged. I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Submitted(+2)

took me a while to figure out how to play it but it was fun! I really liked the art (although maybe the ground color was a bit too bright, especially against the dark background). I'm a bit confused as to why you decided for a grid based movement, but it works. Using your corpses as grappling points was really smart. Well done!

Developer(+1)

Thank you! and I never really minded the contrast of the color of the ground, but now that you pointed it out, it could use some less saturation. Glad you enjoyed!

Submitted(+2)

I really liked it! Shame  it was really short!

Developer(+1)

And it shall be lengthened, hopefully.

Submitted(+3)

the pixel art looks beautiful and is consistent through the game and the sound effects realy add alot

the use of the grappling hook along with corpse mechanic is very clever

altho its short i had fun playing, great job!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for being the first to play it! I found the sound effect part to be quite challenging, along with making the music but i'm glad to hear that it really added something like I intended it to : D
