Yes

Description of the game
Yui's Amazing Truck Adventure is a simple game where you have to save souls as you dodge traffic. As you collect and deliver these souls, more and more tracks get added to the audio.

The optional theme of this game jam was ON THE EDGE, and we took that as being ON THE EDGE OF LIFE, in this game you are in constant danger of being flattened and have to balance safety, the timer, and your health.

Message from the creator(s):
We had a lot of fun working on this, as we learned a lot about FMOD and audio integration in unity games. There's a lot more we wished to add, such as dash movement, tutorial, more levels, better visuals, and a completely custom piece of music, but time absolutely melted away.

This is so chaotic I love it! I just laughed so much when there's literally a train of trucks pushing one another right in front of me. There's just so many goddamn trucks at one point there's shadows of trucks in the air falling down next to me. I would really love it if I could turn the camera to see whether there are trucks coming left and right or not, like irl. (It's so I can see the chaos more clearer lmao)

Not sure if this is intentional or not but as the game progresses it got so laggy because of the number of trucks and so the audio just have so much static noises and crackles which I think really adds to the pure chaos. Good job!

Fun concept! Here's a link to my playthrough https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1180728448?t=01h39m39s

This was cool and really chaotic!
At one point, I saw the shadow of a truck and I had no idea if I would be crushed by it so I ran for my life and got hit by another truck in front of me!!!
Nice work with the music!
Good job on the jam

Thanks a ton!!

Fun stuff! I liked the chaos, although trucks randomly mowing me down from behind were quite a problem :) Great use of adaptive music, keep it up!

Seeing the shadow of a truck flying over me was hilarious but also made me panic as I was near the finish line! I enjoyed watching the mess the trucks were doing towards the end of the game! :D

Graphics are neat, and the music progression works great!

The very narrow field of view makes it difficult to see if there are trucks coming though. it reminded me how important it is to look both ways before crossing the road ;p

Developer

Thank you for the feedback, glad you enjoyed and avoided getting smushed

Nice use of adaptive/advancing music. Also very cool Anime/Vaporwave-like feel. And I really liked the truck chaos towards the end. :)

Sound implementation seemed a bit memory-intensive and caused the music to stutter/crackle on my computer the more elements were added.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the tip, I will have to watch for that in the future! The chaos is always fun to sit and watch unfold lol

This is so random haha, even the sound that plays when you die... Fun concept and cool sounds when picking up the orbs :)

Developer

Lol, thank you! We had a lot of fun with the sound design

Fun take on Frogger. The orb sounds are very nice.

The sight of all those trucks piling up and just happily trucking into each other made me giggle. Nice memetastic gameover audio too!

As far as the adaptive music part i noticed the layering as the game progressed to higher stages.

One thing that was almost there was the tones being played when I picked up an orb. I could only ever get 5 at a time before the game would do a weird position reset and not let me finish the tune that was beginning.

Developer

Thanks a ton for the post and feedback! Very helpful :D
Watching the trucks be trucks was very enjoyable between coding

Very wacky but also very enjoyable. Kinda like a spiritual successor to Stair Dismount / Truck Dismount :) well done!

Hahaha yesss, the rag doll was really fun to set up and play around with. Thanks :D

I love the quirky setup for this. Anime Vtuber girl crossing the road, and the trucks and physics seem good for some emergent gameplay, with crashes and driving off the road and such. Nice ambient soundscape too!

Today I learned it's not safe to touch a truck, even if it's fallen over. It'd be nice if it were possible to see a bit of a wider view to my sides, but to be fair, perhaps limiting the view was intentional to add more challenge and unpredictability, so maybe it's better that way.

Nice jam entry!
